On the occasion of "World Mental Health Day", in order to popularize the knowledge of adolescence mental health education for senior students and enhance students' understanding and mastery of adolescence psychological knowledge, from October 8 to 9, Lianhu District Taoyuan Community Health Service Center actively conducted mental health lectures for primary school students in Fenghui Road Primary School and Xidian Experimental Primary School in the jurisdiction, and practiced the theme activity of "Youth Heart, Youth Young People" on 2021 World Mental Health Day.
Deng Junling, a second-level psychological counselor at Taoyuan Community Health Service Center in Lianhu District, developed the topic "Growing Youth Without Troubles". First, let the students understand the psychological changes in adolescence: having a "sense of adulthood" and independence, and becoming stronger with self-esteem. I show resistance and alienation to my parents and teachers, and I only want to know my peers when I have something to talk to; I don’t want to be restrained, and I can do what I like with my "three heads and six arms"; I don’t have enough understanding of objective things, and my evaluation of myself and others is often not objective enough, so I sometimes cannot distinguish right from wrong.
Doctor Deng organized the students to discuss what they found out that they were missing after the summer vacation. The students answered the following points: weak ability to be frustrated; not good at discovering their own shining points; gratitude and lack of tolerance; not knowing how to release self-pressure; poor communication with parents, and always think that parents are nagging and nagging.
How should students do this in the face of these problems? After learning and discussion, Dr. Deng and his classmates summarized several aspects: facing setbacks correctly; learning to be grateful; paying attention to yourself, finding the highlights in yourself, making yourself better; and alleviating various pressures. Dr. Deng guides children to correctly understand setbacks from a psychological and action perspective, be full of gratitude, manage pressure, and let go of their moods. The lecture content is rich and guiding and educational, and is welcomed by students and has achieved good results.
Through this lecture, students can learn to correctly understand setbacks; affirm that they are people with shining points; we must be full of gratitude; learn to manage pressure and let go of our mood, and learn to grow ourselves.
