Xiangping Mountain in early winter is full of green eyes and the air is fresh. Black Bone Chicken The cry of "cuckoo, coo" echoes among the mountains.
climbed over the winding mountain road and the reporter came to Xinglong Breeding Farmers Professional Cooperative located in Xiangping Mountain. When he saw Gao Xinglong, the chairman of the cooperative, he had just come out of the forest area and was holding a basket of fresh eggs in his hand. "You go in and sit first, I'll cook a few eggs for everyone to try."

Gao Xinglong, originally a worker in Xiangping Mountain Forest Farm. In 2001, he contracted 800 acres of land to plant star anise in Xiangping Mountain. During the planting process, he found that star anise was often hollowed out by a small bug called "vortex worm". In order to increase the production of star anise, Gao Xinglong thought of raising black bone chickens under the forest to let the black bone chickens eliminate the "vortex insects". In 2011, Gao Xinglong established the Xinglong Breeding Farmers Professional Cooperative and began to raise black bone chickens under the star anise forest, exploring a path of green ecological development.

Adapted to local conditions The under-forest circular economy paves the way to get rich
Before entering the forest area, it needs to be disinfected. "This is a potion prepared by disease control experts. Everyone disinfects the soles of the shoe." In the forest area, star anise trees are lush with branches and leaves, and thousands of black-bone chickens are walking in the forest. Some peck at the cooked star anise that falls into the ground, and some are foraging for insects on the leaves.
Gao Xinglong bent down to pick up the star anise that fell on the ground and showed it to us: "This is star anise, which is the main product of our cooperative. It is natural and pollution-free. It has been sold out now." After introducing star anise, Gao Xinglong pointed to the "flying chicken" on the tree and said: "That is another main product of our forest area, black bone chicken, the brand name is 'star anise fragrant chicken'."

Because he has studied veterinary medicine and has more than ten years of breeding experience, in recent years, Gao Xinglong has actively explored the development of the circular economy under the forest and took the path of green ecological development. "Black bone chickens are freely raised in the forest, with a large range of activities. They mainly feed on green plants such as star anise seeds and insects and wild grasses. Therefore, they have delicious taste and rich eggs. In addition, black bone chickens can also eliminate "vortex insects", and manure can fertilize the land and make the star anise trees grow better." By implementing the combination of planting and breeding, Gaoxinglong's cooperative not only revitalizes forest land resources and improves the planting structure, but also allows these green and ecological foods to be sold to the high-end market.
As of October this year, Xinglong Breeding Farmers Professional Cooperative sold a total of 20,000 chickens and 30 tons of star anise, with a net income of more than 3 million. With his hardworking hands, Gao Xinglong not only became rich himself, but also led the surrounding poor households to increase their income and become rich. Since the establishment of the cooperative, a total of 110,000 breeding chickens have been distributed to farmers for free, leading 1,539 registered poor households, with an average annual income of about 9,000 to 14,000. Gao Xinglong told reporters that the cooperative distributes chicken seedlings to poor households for free, and provides technical guidance, implements epidemic prevention and control, and recycles finished chickens, leading poor households to increase their income through the development of industries.

Broadening the idea. Green ecological agricultural products have great potential for
"In 2019, the cooperative's operating income was 5 million, which could reach more than 10 million yuan next year." The reason why Gao Xinglong is full of confidence is that as the popularity of star anise fragrant chicken becomes higher and the sales channels continue to expand, black Bone Chicken is already in short supply.
Gao Shunjie, Gao Xinglong's son, is mainly responsible for the cooperative's e-commerce sales and physical stores. In 2016, Gao Shunjie, who graduated from college, returned to his hometown to run a cooperative with his father. At the beginning, Gao Shunjie was mainly responsible for opening up a market like hotels and villas. Since 2019, Gao Shunjie has begun to make arrangements on e-commerce platforms. Currently, the star anise fragrant chicken has entered e-commerce platforms such as Pinduoduo , Rural Credit Mall, etc. As of the end of October this year, more than 2,000 chickens have been sold on e-commerce platforms.

3 years of e-commerce operation gave Gao Shunjie a new idea, "If you want to expand the black Bone Chicken market, it is not enough to rely solely on running the market and doing e-commerce. You have to open an offline image store for product promotion." In July 2019, the first physical store of the cooperative, " Xichou Black Bone Chicken", opened in Wenshan City .Since the image store opened, more than 3,000 black-bone chickens have been sold, and has attracted the attention of local company Xichozhen Qiwei Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. In August this year, the company ordered 3 tons of black bone chicken from Gao Shunjie. Next month, another 3 tons will be ordered. "This company was commissioned by Xiamen Jiahe Food Co., Ltd. to find original local chickens for self-heating filling chicken soup processing. After visiting our base, they expressed their intention to order on the spot." Gao Shunjie said. It is understood that Xiamen Jiahe Food Co., Ltd. has produced three products based on star anise fragrant chicken as the main raw material and has been sold to the market.
