When I was in high school, studied in a key high school in Shandong Province. He used his weekends to learn amateur Alevel, and went to Alevel training institution for classes every Friday night and weekends.
At that time, I not only had to take into account the general high school courses, but also ensured that I got a domestic high school diploma, and also had to be fully prepared for studying for undergraduate studies abroad.
UK G5 prestigious schools
Speaking of my study abroad journey, it is actually abrupt. It originated from a parent-teacher meeting.
My father was attracted by a display board in front of the teacher’s office building when he visited the campus everywhere after the first parent-teacher meeting in my high school career. The content on the
exhibition board is the good news for all students who were admitted to the top 100 universities in this high school, and the contact information of this training institution. After my father carefully read the good news, he drove directly to the training institution to learn more.
After my father returned home, he asked me straightforwardly: Daughter, are you considering studying in the UK? is so sudden. When my key high school career was only three months old, was a unique road in front of me.
plus I am a good English and a loyal Harry Potter fan. Studying in the UK is a good way for me to experience different cultures and life, so I naturally embarked on the road of studying abroad.
In the end, my Alevel scores were Mathematics A*, Accounting A*, Further Mathematics A, Chemistry A, and successfully started the undergraduate study abroad application.

I applied for Mathematics with Finance major at the time, First Class, because of the UK undergraduate, I didn’t need to take the IELTS exam again.

have improved my understanding of risk management in Finance and have trained my use of Python. These two points can be corresponding to the knowledge and skills learned in the courses I applied for, and enhance my motivation when applying.
Finally, I received the offer of offer for MORSE at the University of Warwick, UCL, and MSU, and Sheffield.
Because I was deeply influenced by the agency at that time, I thought I should choose a high-ranking school in the UK rather than a high-ranking school in the world, so at that time my priority in choosing a school was Warwick Mandarin University UCL Sheffield.
Finally, I studied for the undergraduate degree in BSc Mathematics with Finance at the University of Manchester, and I also received a "International Mathematicians Scholarship" every year, with a total scholarship of 3,000 pounds.
When I was in my junior year of undergraduate, I chose to apply for a postgraduate program myself. I applied to a total of 4 schools and got financial engineering offers from UCL, KCL, Warwick and Manchester University.
Finally, graduate students studied at UCL's MSc Computational Finance major.
Study in the UK
Since I decided to return to China to work when applying for graduate school, there are two reasons why UCL is the best choice:

QS ranked 8th in the world. As we all know, many domestic companies have their own target school list. As one of the UK G5 members, UCL has always been the first tier of most companies' target lists.
. Professional Practice:
MSc Computational Finance This major comes with its own internship. The graduation thesis needs to be completed in an internship in the company that is automatically assigned to. The content of the graduation thesis will also be the specific methodology of the project you help the company during your internship.
Internship companies that cooperate with this major include: Santander UK, Credit Suisse, KPMG, PWC, Microsoft and other Fortune 500 companies. This internship experience will add a lot of points to your resume during the autumn recruitment.
The most difficult thing I encounter when applying:
That is, unlike domestic undergraduates, the recommendation letters from professors from foreign universities are very difficult to get.
When applying, you need to fill in the email address of referee. The template for the recommendation letter will be sent directly to the recommender's email address and will be submitted online after writing it by the recommender himself, so it is unlikely that he will write and prepare a recommendation letter for the professor to help submit it.
Generally, two letters of recommendation for graduate students are required, most of which are written by professors who know you best and those who have good grades, and you need to say hello to the relevant professors in advance.
However, not all tutors have time to write a reference letter. I went to find a professor in the best subjects I took in the first two years of undergraduate studies, and then the professor's answer was that I had promised to write a letter of recommendation for many students, and now I have stopped this extra work.
Usually, each person will apply for at least 2-3 schools, which means that the professor who promises to write a letter of recommendation for you needs to write 2-3 letters for you, so this is an additional job for many professors.
What's even worse is that my personal tutor was asked for paternity leave because my wife was about to give birth, so I couldn't contact anyone during the important stage of application (October-January), which means that a letter of recommendation that I had been able to get was gone.
I listed an excel in the email address and office hours of all subjects that have been studied by the first semester of my junior year.
Then began to send emails to each teacher one by one, explaining the subject he taught laid a good foundation for the major I will apply for, and would briefly explain my motivation for applying for graduate students and my career plan. It is simply a small PS.
Finally, I successfully invited three professors to write recommendation letters from different schools for me.
Of course, there were many impressive things when applying:
When I chose to study mathematics in my undergraduate degree, I felt that mathematics is the basis of many subjects, and graduate students would be better at majoring.
When I really applied for a postgraduate degree, I found that if the undergraduate degree is a science and engineering major, it is very advantageous for applying for a business major. Many majors will require you to have a certain degree of mathematics or programming skills.
Next, let me tell you about my application experience:
If you are sure to take the path of studying abroad, then set off early to prepare, especially for applicants who are not so confident in their language.
• No matter who it is, GPA and language are the most important!
GPA and language scores are the hard requirements for the school to decide whether to admit you. Only when these two items are met will the school consider your other background.
Please note that if the language scores do not meet the requirements and the gap is not large, after the school sends you a conditional offer, if the school has the option of language class, you can choose to sign up for the language class first to occupy a single seat.
After all, going to a language class is better than stubbornly pursuing the final language scores that cannot meet the requirements and cannot exchange for an unconditional offer.
• School + Major:
When determining the school and major to apply for, it is recommended to consider the comprehensive ranking of the university (usually based on QS, the standards of domestic enterprises), personal interests and career planning .
Personal interests and career planning are the key points. First determine the major direction you want to study, and then determine the school based on the major.

The majors of British graduate students will be divided into very detailed categories, such as finance majors, and it is likely that domestically, it is collectively called one major: finance.
The UK will be divided into finance majors, financial investment majors, banking and finance majors, financial and economic majors, accounting and finance majors, etc.
The majors of British universities are very subdivided, and many major names are different, but the course settings are very similar. Therefore, when choosing a prestigious university application, you can spend time researching the major application and use similar majors to replace highly competitive majors.

• It is recommended to use Excel tables to collect and compare information, and make timelines to avoid procrastination!
