Oskar Falk, general manager of Volvo Car Taizhou factory, said in an interview with Beijing News Beike Finance and other media that in terms of energy use, the Volvo Car Taizhou factory optimizes the energy structure and actively promotes the use of carbon neutrality energy.

According to Oscar, the Taizhou factory continues to improve its own power generation capacity. After expanding the solar photovoltaic power generation project, it has an installed capacity of more than 20MWp, and will continue to improve the effective utilization of renewable energy. At present, the Taizhou factory has achieved 100% electricity carbon neutrality, and the clean energy utilization rate has reached 46%.

As of now, the utilization rate of green materials in Taizhou factories has reached 99.8%. More than 95% of the raw materials are packaged in recyclable turnover boxes, and the packaging from suppliers is also reused within the factory; the factory also systematically carries out waste resource utilization and reduction projects, and controls each stage of the waste life cycle through the use of a waste zero landfill management system, thereby converting waste into reusable resources.

Volvo Car Taizhou factory's innovation and efforts in sustainable development have also been recognized by regulatory authorities. The Volvo Car Taizhou factory has obtained the "Green Supply Chain" certification of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and has been recognized as the "Factory of the Future" by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology.

"In five years, the Taizhou factory has been built into a mature pure electric vehicle production system. What's more important is that it has electrified talents in all aspects from information technology, manufacturing engineering to production operations and logistics planning." Oscar said that the Taizhou factory is continuing to increase the production capacity of pure electric vehicle products, further helping Volvo Cars become a pure electric luxury car company.
