According to the US WRCB radio, a man's conspiracy in Tennessee to kill his wife was exposed and he is currently facing murder charges. Authorities said he detailed details of his plan to kill his two-year-old wife and run away with her money.
The man was named Jerry MacDonald, and his wife told police that she discovered the so-called plan one morning after MacDonald got drunk.
According to the Chattanugan newspaper, McDonald's wife told investigators that she had planned to call his company on her husband's cell phone to help him ask for leave, but when she picked up the phone, she found a series of text messages from 39-year-old Vanessa Nelson.
In a text message, Vanessa asked, "Do I need to kill her?" and MacDonald responded, "Please kill her, baby, please."
In a subsequent conversation, the two discussed how much it would be worth if MacDonald's wife died.
According to the records, McDonald said in a text message: "This woman is worth one million. If we kill her, we can live like a king and a queen."
Vanessa said: "So she has a million life insurance ."
"Then we kill her." McDonald replied.
According to the record, in the third conversation, McDonald provided more details about the money.
"There are more than $1 million in her father's safe, and I won't be caught," he wrote.
"We are not criminals," Vanessa said, "and we don't care about money, at least I don't like it."
MacDonald's wife told police they have been married for two years, but they have known each other for 20 years.
McDonald's wife was worried about her life after seeing this information, so she contacted the police.
It is reported that McDonald was a volunteer reserve police officer at the Red Bank Police Department. He was asked to take administrative leave before an internal investigation into his allegations.
