Apple Watch 3 Cellular version may only be used in local countries for purchase
Now Apple only pre-sales Apple Watch Series 3 in a few first-time countries, which also makes some users consider purchasing abroad. However, the fact may be that these watches will not be used after they are released in the country and can only be restricted from using them in the country.
A representative from the Apple support team revealed that the Apple Watch purchased at the Apple Online Store in the United States will only be used within the network of four telecom companies in the United States, which may be due to the hardware restrictions.
"If you buy a GPS + Cellular Apple Watch Series 3 from the Apple Online Store in the United States, it will only be used under the network of 4 American telecom companies. It cannot be used globally. I cannot be completely sure what type of error will occur if you bring the watch to Germany, but it is not compatible with the Telekom network."
Unlike iPhones, the AW 3 Series models also support a few LTE bands, which is another factor that cannot be supported across countries. For example, in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, only the 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 25, 26 and 41 bands can be supported. In China, only frequency bands 1, 3, 39, 40 and 41 are supported.
