, and many foreign media including Russia Satellite International have reported that China will start to install and deploy large unmanned intelligent submarines in the 1920s, that is, in the 2020s. It is reported that this unmanned submarine can be used for civilian surveying sea conditions, or for military deployment of mines, clearing mines, and even launching suicide attacks on enemy aircraft carrier battle groups, just like an underwater missile.
Russian media said that Lin Yang, director of marine technology equipment at the Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, confirmed the plan for the development of large intelligent submarines in China.
At present, Boeing is working with Huntington Ingoles Industrial Company to develop a fully automatic unmanned submarine "Echo Voyager" for the US military. In addition to performing submarine missions of up to 12,000 kilometers without any ship support, the ship-based space of about 10 meters can also carry equipment such as detectors, cargo and weapons, which is extremely versatile.
China's smart unmanned submarines are said to be similar to the "Echo Voyager", but are much larger. These submarines, called "extra-large unmanned submersibles" (XLUUVs), are much larger than the existing underwater unmanned submarine , and can even be deployed as ordinary submarines.
At present, China already has drone technology that is ahead of the world, so these technologies will be familiar with the application of underwater submarines. Due to the elimination of the need for life support, large unmanned submarines can be relatively compact and have more space to install detection devices and underwater weapons, including torpedoes, mines and anti-ship missiles .
