Jiwei.com News, Xu Xiulan, chairman of Global Crystal, said today that the long-term demand growth trend of semiconductors remains unchanged. Global Crystal will maintain its established production expansion plan and is expected to announce the location of the new factory before the end of June.
Xu Xiulan mentioned that Global Crystal will maintain its established production expansion plan, but due to shortages of work, rising construction costs and extended equipment delivery periods, the progress of some production expansion may be delayed by one quarter. Equipment for the newly built factory has been booked and the location will be finalized before the end of June.
She also revealed that Singapore was originally included in the location of the new factory, but due to the high construction cost and the local market does not match the target customers, Singapore has been excluded.
Xu Xiulan said that Japan is actively developing the semiconductor industry, but Global Crystal already has factories in Japan and has no plans to build a new factory. She said that government subsidies are one of the key factors in evaluating the location of a new factory, but they are not the only ones. They should consider the situation of new growth customers and hope to supply customers nearby.
In addition, at today's shareholders' meeting, Xu Xiulan said that some of the company's long-term contracts with customers have exceeded 2028 and seen in 2031.
Xu Xiulan emphasized that the global crystal production line is still full, and the 12-inch factory cannot be stopped for a minute, which is still very healthy for the upstream.
