I am Wang Yaping, an astronaut of Shenzhou 13 manned flight mission crew. As a "space teacher", I feel particularly satisfied and delighted to be able to stand on the "space podium" three times and share the fun and mystery of science with everyone. The short time to "connect the world" with my classmates will become an extremely precious memory on my future life path.
Becoming a teacher was once my childhood dream. I remember when I was in elementary school, the Chinese teacher would tell us vivid stories; the math teacher would compile boring numbers into magical fairy tales; the physical education teacher is the favorite of students because she would take us to run and play on the school playground...
The good times are always fleeting, and as we play, we will grow up by accident. When I arrived in middle school, I began to get more knowledge. The teacher can tell us the profound knowledge of physics and chemistry in an easy-to-understand manner. At that time, we seemed to be able to see a little mystery of science from a simple pendulum law or a chemical reaction and discover the beauty of the universe.
Looking at the teacher talking on the podium, I sincerely envious, dreaming that one day I could stand on the podium and impart the knowledge I learned to students without reservation. Teacher, this sacred and beautiful profession bears the important task of spreading ideas and culture, and plays an important role as a bridge and link in the development of human society. Graduated from high school, I have the honor of becoming a glorious Air Force pilot. While flying into the blue sky, I was getting farther and farther away from the podium in my dreams. Later, after layers of selection, I was selected into the China People's Liberation Army Astronaut Brigade. There is no doubt that it is joyful to be a astronaut to fly into space. However, I also vaguely feel that I will never be able to be that "teacher dream" again in this life. Unexpectedly, the God of Destiny waved to me again and gave me the opportunity to realize my dream.
In 2013, after being selected for the Shenzhou 10 manned flight mission crew, I learned that I was about to teach a lesson to primary and secondary school students across the country in space, and my excitement was beyond words. Being a teacher, this dream that you are dying to the point is finally coming true! At that moment, I seemed to hear the sound of flowers blooming, and it seemed as if a bright moon shone into my heart, so clear and so bright.
Imagine that before class, the students shouted "Hello teacher" and "Teacher is working hard" in a tender voice; after class, the children raised their innocent faces and asked questions to "Teacher Wang" one by one... These were the scenes I most looked forward to and envied when I was a child. I felt like rolling waves surged in my heart, waiting for the moment of dream come true.

June 20, 2013, the day of real space teaching has finally arrived. Although only three of us astronauts are standing in Tiangong , facing a camera, I know that at the other end of the camera, there are thousands of pairs of knowledge-hungry eyes staring at me. At that moment, I felt extremely sacred and proud. I am proud of being able to stand in front of thousands of primary and secondary school students!
That space teaching mission was very successful, and each experimental demonstration was very successful. From the headphones, I could clearly hear the surprised and happy laughter of my classmates, and also hear the thunderous applause bursting out in the classroom. The moment when the dream is realized, I feel that no matter how much effort and sweat it is put into effect, it is worth it. Because the laughter and applause of the children in class are the best rewards.
The first space teaching ended soon. I was immersed in the classroom and my classmates were still impressed. I seemed to hear a child asking, "Is there any more? I still want to see, space is so magical..."
The title of "Teacher Wang" has become my biggest gain in completing the Shenzhou 1 manned flight mission. I feel sincere happiness and gratitude to be able to sow space dreams in the hearts of children as teachers and start their dream pursuit journey.
"The flying dream will never lose weight, and the science dream will be unlimited." This sentence is deeply rooted in the hearts of every student. Maybe it was my amazement at my "Hercules" or my curiosity about measuring mass using Newton's law. Maybe it was attracted by the infinite tension of water presentation of water membrane experiments. Maybe it was fascinated by the high-speed rotation of the gyros in space... The first space teaching science popularization education activity inspired the majority of primary and secondary school students to yearn for the universe and their enthusiasm for learning scientific and technological knowledge, allowing them to gradually get closer to aerospace, understand aerospace, and love aerospace more.
Nowadays, some of the children had entered college and even entered society. Some of them have always maintained a love for aerospace, and some have even grown into members of the aerospace front.
2019, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics graduate student Wang Nan wrote a letter to me. As the first "space class" student who listened to space teaching that year, she chose aerospace-related major after the college entrance examination. In the letter, she said: "Maybe you don't know who I am, but you have long become the light I yearn for on my dream pursuit." Later, Wang Nan graduated from graduate school and became an astronaut... The story of Wang Nan chasing light and dreaming is just a microcosm. There are many children like her who love aerospace and devote themselves to the aerospace industry.
I also want to thank the world's first "space teacher" Barbara Morgan Ms. As the first and second space lecturer in China and the world, I received a letter from her on the eve of the lecture. In the letter, she expressed her greetings and wishes to us, and gave her eager expectations and encouragement for space teaching.

On the afternoon of December 9, 2021, in the space classroom, my partner Ye Guangfu and I used a small paper flower to show the water film tension experiment. The pink small paper flower blooming in the water ball was folded on the ground with my daughter. The flower bloomed so brilliantly in the experiment, just like my daughter's magnificent future in my vision. Just in September 2022, she will usher in a new stage of her life: becoming a primary school student. I want that beautiful little flower to tell my daughter that there will be many beautiful things waiting for her to find on the road to school in the future; I also want to tell all young friends through the blooming little flower that as long as I sow my dreams, I will definitely harvest hope.
Science is romantic and magical. The beauty of science makes people linger, it depends on whether you can enjoy it. The beauty of space is that it can show sights that cannot be seen on Earth and reveal scientific mysteries that cannot be revealed on Earth. For example: a water ball that "pulls water into ice", a liquid bridge that can't be pulled, and an inseparable water and oil, etc. Everyone understands these seemingly simple physical and chemical phenomena, but it takes a lot of brains to successfully demonstrate them.
For example, the space ice and snow experiment, what the students saw during the teaching was a perfect picture: a small water ball was suspended in the space, and I gently tapped the hair roots in my hand, and the water ball instantly freezes, turning into a hot "ice puck". This is a common crystallization phenomenon in the field of chemistry: at room temperature, the supersaturated sodium acetate solution is very unstable, and a small piece of dust may induce crystallization. However, it is very difficult to perfectly present the magical effect of "spotting water into ice".
Maybe everyone doesn’t know that this popular and magical experiment almost died halfway.During the drill, there were many situations: First, there was very little supersaturated sodium acetate solution brought with me, and the load on each flight mission was almost as strict as gram level, so we did not have much opportunity to practice; second, we demonstrated this experiment in space for the first time, and any unexpected situation could occur.
In order to complete the "Frozen" experiment, we worked together to make multiple plans. However, several drill experiments failed. When everyone was almost giving up, I used the persistence of "I will never die until the Yellow River" to persist in completing this experiment and make plans for every possible special situation.
On the afternoon of March 23, 2022, as the first space ice and snow experiment to appear on " Tiangong Classroom ", the crystallization situation occurred in advance, which caught us off guard. We did not panic, and calmly solved the problem and promptly remedy it. Finally, we successfully presented the space debut of "Frozen" to thousands of primary and secondary school students in front of the screen.
In addition to showing interesting physical and chemical phenomena, we also implant traditional national culture and the Olympic spirit into it. tie-dye is one of the long-standing textile dyeing processes in my country. The unique tie-dye display allows this precious intangible cultural heritage to go abroad and fly into space. Traditional culture and modern technology are perfectly integrated in our hands, which is particularly proud. The finished products we made are amazing. The tie-dye works are blue and white, elegant and pure, with a fresh and natural beauty. The combination of blue and white is also very similar to the colors we see in space as the earth appears.
In the "Heaven and Earth welcome the Olympic Games together", I used chemical reactions to create the "Five Rings of the Olympic Games". The raw materials are not complicated: a piece of transparent plate inlaid with five rings, 3 different colorless solutions, 3 acid and alkali indicator , plus several other solutions. Under our operation, the colors of the "Five Rings of the Olympics" are perfectly presented in sequence. Under the condition of weightlessness in space, the "Fifth Ring Road of the Olympics" floats freely, allowing us to feel the strong atmosphere of the Winter Olympics at the Chinese Space Station. The Olympic spirit of "higher, faster, stronger" coincides with the spirit of our astronauts' unremitting struggle.
