seats and spaces
This seat looks very familiar at first glance. Almost the Corolla seat model is copied directly, and there is no obvious difference. In addition, the seat bracket mounting points are correspondingly raised to adapt to the new overall arrangement, and the coordination of various mechanisms in the car is quite harmonious. The only drawback is that the fabric seats are forcibly bound to the electric adjustment, while the imitation leather material does not have heating and ventilation, and it is a little stuffy when sitting, and it will be relatively cold in cold weather. At the same time, the extremely cheap ceiling (really very rare) and the small sunroof that seemed to come from ten years ago created a huge amount of head space for rear passengers, but I also believe that this is not a problem for the target consumer group of this car.
Although the wheelbase of 2640 is not as good as 2700 of leling , the idea of SUV using longitudinal height for front and rear space was implemented very well on Fenlanda. Thanks to the increase in the height of the first row of seats, the leg space in the second row has also reached a sufficient level.

trunk space exceeded my expectations, the performance is reasonable, and the space in the vertical direction is relatively large. The space has been significantly improved compared to the sedan version of the Corolla, which is true for members and luggage.
configuration and ergonomics
is right, it is no different from a Corolla. There are a lot of pieces used, and there is no need to re-engineer the shape. The height of the entire center console is slightly raised, the steering wheel is adjusted enough, the Console is still very narrow, and the instrument, center control and air conditioning panels can basically be regarded as being completely used.
But all of them are top-end. The steering wheel is made of plastic, and I don’t know if there is a film on the central control screen. The actual content is completely unseen under strong light.

powertrain
Old friend, Toyota M20C engine, with a maximum power of 126 kilowatts, pushing a one-ton four frontlander effortlessly, high thermal efficiency, smooth torque curve, and even if it drives very fast, it won't burn much oil. The
Direct-Shift CVT transmission has reached the level of CHR. The power is available as you step on, and the gear down is very active. Its speed is even faster than that of CHR. The full throttle cannot be used to constant speed and power output as the ES200, but the body feel is not slow at all. The excellent response and linear torque output make people unable to stop. The manual mode is not as straightforward as CHR. The "shifting" action is reflected by a forward torque fluctuation. The switching between the gear and the steel belt is not obvious. I personally think that this performance is already worthy of the fare.
chassis system

The disadvantage is that the texture is relatively loose when the displacements of the left and right wheels of the shaft are inconsistent, and one compression may be divided into two times for absorption. On the contrary, the back suspension is more straightforward and neat in the vibration treatment and is completed in one go. The consistency between the front and rear suspension is not very good. The top-end is a combination of 17-inch and fuel-efficient tires. This is completely unexplainable. Otherwise, the combination of 18-inch wheels and sports tires will be completely unreasonable if this large plastic steering wheel is powered by a tailgate.

NVH
is generally the same as the Corolla. The upper body is not good for noise isolation, and the isolation feels poor. On the contrary, when driving normally, there is not much noise from the vehicle itself, and the road noise is not very high, and the wind noise is more obvious near the roof. The roar from the cabin at full throttle is deafening and will also cause a small resonance from the back compartment. It is obviously the performance of ordinary cheap cars, which is incomparable to boutique small SUVs such as CHR or CX-30.
summary
Fenglander or Corolla sharp release are more like Toyota's new interpretation of the domestic small SUV market. A small car like CHR that focuses on personal experience is obviously not suitable for the Chinese market. This time, Toyota directly brought Fenglanda, which is full of third-world flavors, to fill the market gap. To summarize, Fenglanda is just buying an engine and getting a car. The weird configuration and the overall quality are not considered excellent. The starting price is 125,000 yuan. The one I tested was even plastic and I was so embarrassed to sell for 160,000 yuan. But I have to admit that there is nothing wrong with this car when driving. Even the sufficient sound and excellent powertrain match make this car have a pretty wild personality, and it is more like a hatchback version of the Corolla rather than an SUV. CHR will not be affected too much by the appearance of Franklanda, because this car seems to be aiming at the old XRV in all aspects, and the most affected inside Toyota should be the two "2.0-liter extended Corolla". The space is not as good as Franklanda and the quality is not much better.
But I was wondering whether there is a car that exists. It is cheaper than the Fenlanda, with better quality and suspension, similar space, and better drive?
