On the morning of March 25, the Creative Design School Detachment of the New Era Civilization Practice Society Science Popularization Volunteer Service Team of Rizhao Vocational and Technical College organized students to go to Qinlou Street Central Kindergarten to carry out traditional culture and skills inheritance and innovation activities. 18 college student volunteers from the college student union, pottery club, and Luming National Academy of Sciences participated in the event.
Under the warm reception of the principal and teachers, the volunteers walked into the first class and divided them into 3 groups, starting a wonderful journey as a "school teacher". After introducing the history of ceramic arts and the overview of Rizhao black pottery to the children, they taught the children step by step to shape the clay, encouraged the children to make their favorite images, and guided them to color them with acrylic; volunteers in the painting group popularized color knowledge for the children, guided them to use line shapes to depict them, and encouraged them to draw things they like, and boldly expressed their emotions and ideas; volunteers in the Chinese Studies Group wore Hanfu to explain the importance of etiquette to the children, taught them to bow, shake hands and bow rituals, and compiled the "Three Character Classic" and idiom stories into a sitcom, performing live for the children to guide them to understand the essence of the Chinese Studies classics.
The unique classroom atmosphere allows children to gain knowledge and happiness while further stimulate their desire for knowledge. The college student volunteers also gained a lot. They all said that they felt very happy to be able to give back to the society with knowledge and love, and would continue to go to other kindergartens to strive to let more children feel the charm of Chinese traditional culture.
