China Review Service, Taipei, April 12 (Reporter Zhang Jiawen) The presidential election of the Chinese Kuomintang is scheduled to be held in July. The details of the election methods that have attracted much attention will be submitted to the regular meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on April 21 for approval at the earliest. After the second meeting of the task force chaired by Party Secretary-General Li Qianlong this morning, the participants believed that more communication with the grassroots was needed to consolidate opinions, so the decision was not finalized today. The election details cannot be submitted to the regular session of the Central Committee this week. Next week There will be a third meeting.

Li Zhehua
Chairman of the organizing committee Li Zhehua said that the main concern at the meeting was that in addition to the operating fee, 10 million yuan (NT$) was planned to be collected for the chairman candidates in this election. The deposit will be refunded to those who are not elected, but will not be refunded to those who are elected. It will be used directly to fulfill the party's public office fundraising responsibility this year. As for the deposit for party representative candidates, it is 10,000 yuan, which will also be refunded to those who are not elected. Those elected will directly fulfill this year’s fundraising responsibilities.
Li Zhehua said that the participants believed that this change is quite big and different from the past, and the voices of party members should be listened to before making the final decision. In terms of electoral qualifications, the part that requires one year of party membership to have the right to participate in the party will remain unchanged.
The Kuomintang presidential election will be held in July. Current Chairman Jiang Qichen and Sun Wen School Principal Zhang Yazhong have announced their candidacy. Vice Chairman of the think tank Lian Shengwen is seriously considering it. Chairman of China Broadcasting Corporation Zhao Shaokang has already expressed his stance. Pending qualification determination, former Chairman Zhu Lilun and former Kaohsiung Mayor Han Guoyu were named as candidates who may participate in the war.
The difference in the details of the chairman election method this time is that in addition to the proposed deposit, the operating fee that each chairman candidate needs to pay when registering is NT$2 million, which is planned to be increased to NT$3 million. This is mainly to cope with the increase in the number of candidates in Taiwan. The invoicing office must increase manpower and expenses. The Kuomintang plans to set up at least one polling station for every township, town, and urban area in this election. Townships and urban areas with more party members will have 2 or 3 polling stations. Compared with last year's by-election, there were only 271. This year's total is expected to exceed More than 400.
A professional group composed of Li Qianlong will discuss the draft of party office election details and finalize them. After they are sent to the Party Central Committee working meeting for finalization, they will be submitted to Party Chairman Jiang Qichen for approval. They will be sent to the Central Committee Standing Committee for approval at the earliest next Wednesday, and are scheduled to be sent to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for approval in May. Election announcements will be made in the middle of the year, candidate registration will be made in early June, and voting will be held on July 24.
