In 2008, the first Zhantai University Summer Camp was organized by Feng Guanfu. 90 teachers and students from five universities in Taiwan arrived in Zhanjiang and held discussions with teachers and students from Guangdong Ocean University, Lingnan Normal University and other Zhanjiang universities. A 7-day exchange event was held.
In the next nine years, the Zhantai College Summer Camp, hosted by Lingnan Normal University, the Taiwan Teachers Education Association, and the National Taiwan University of Education system, settled in Lingnan Normal University. Nearly a thousand Taiwanese teachers and students from Taiwan Normal University , Taichung University of Education, Pingtung University and other 37 universities came to Zhanjiang and participated in a variety of summer camp activities with more than 5,000 college students from universities in Zhanjiang.
