Southeast Net news on August 5 (our reporters Lu Jinfu, Xie Tianshi, Chen Shiting) This morning, Fujian officially opened water to Kinmen. Today, reporters visited Fujian Jinjin Water Supply Co., Ltd. to learn about the construction process of the project. It was revealed that this is the submarine water supply project with the longest length and the largest pipe diameter that has been built in Fujian.

The design flow of Fujian's water supply project to the Kinmen area is 34,000 m3/d, and the long-term flow is 55,000 m3/d. The project consists of three parts: water pumping station, land water pipeline and cross-sea water pipeline. The reporter saw at Fujian Jinjin Water Supply Co., Ltd. that three water pumps were installed at the water pumping station, with a total installed capacity of 330kW.

Zhu Jinliang, deputy general manager of Fujian Water Investment Group, told reporters that the "Jinjin Water Supply" project pumps water through the water intake. When the water passes through the unit of the water pump station, it is pressurized and the electrical energy is converted into mechanical energy, so that the water can be sent to Kinmen through pipelines. "The level of Jinjiang is about the same as that of Kinmen. Water cannot flow naturally. It has to be pumped through by pressurizing the water pump. This is equivalent to the human heart, which provides pressure and circulates blood to all parts of the body." Zhu Jinliang said.

The Kinmen water diversion (water pipeline) project from Fujian enters the sea at the seawall on the side of the coastal channel in Jinjiang Jinjing Town and runs diagonally through the Weitou Bay sea area in the southwest direction. The Kinmen landing point is located on the top of the embankment near Tianpu Reservoir. , the entire submarine pipeline is 16.052KM long, designed as DN800 high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, with a maximum water depth of about 24M and a designed flow rate of 34,000 cubic meters per day. According to the agreement, the mainland side is responsible for the construction of pump stations and onshore pipelines, while the Kinmen side is responsible for the submarine pipeline project.

On October 12, 2015, the mainland section of Fujian’s water supply project to the Kinmen area officially started. The construction team adopted a method of first easy and then difficult to overcome factors such as lines, terrain, rainfall, etc., and by the end of October of the following year, the entire land water pipeline was connected, and the pumping station completed debugging and stable trial operation, taking the lead in meeting the conditions for water supply. The submarine pipeline project started on June 24, 2016, and the pipe laying construction on the Jinjiang side (about 8 kilometers) was completed at the end of September.

Ni Fusheng, chairman of Jiangsu Shenlong Marine Engineering Group Co., Ltd., later revealed to reporters that due to the progress of the construction permit for ship machinery and personnel entry gate, offshore pipe laying has been forced to stop since October 2016, and the construction ship machinery has to stay. Waiting for resumption of work on site. It was originally planned to resume offshore pipe laying construction in May 2017. After the resumption of work was notified, dredgers were organized to enter the site for excavation, and pipe laying officially started on July 24.

According to Ni Fusheng, during this period, due to the influence of typhoons and northeast monsoons, the effective construction period for offshore construction was limited. However, the construction unit overcame the harsh environment at sea, formulated rush measures, invested in large ship machinery and professional construction personnel, and increased the ship's resistance to Wind capacity, seizing the limited construction time, and with the full cooperation of participating units on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the pipeline landing construction was finally completed before the onset of the northeast monsoon period.

"The pipeline is buried 2.5 to 3 meters deep under the seabed. It is covered with tin blocks to protect the pipeline and prevent other ships from anchoring." Ni Fusheng said that unlike land pipeline construction, it is affected by Affected by weather and ocean conditions, the construction of submarine pipelines is more difficult. The submarine pipelines pass through tidal flats, mariculture areas, Shijing Channel, Xiamen New Airport Sand Transport Channel, Kinmen side reef areas and other areas, so the construction situation is relatively complicated.

On May 10 this year, Kinmen and the mainland conducted a joint operation test of the Kinmen water supply engineering system. The maximum daily water supply volume was approximately 40,000 m3/m2, exceeding the designed maximum requirement of 34,000 m3/m2 of daily water supply, marking a milestone. Kinmen Water Supply Project is fully connected and meets all water supply requirements. Today, the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are officially connected to the water, realizing the vision of "one family on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, drinking from the same river" for more than 20 years.
