Based on past testing experience, I know that the paint thickness of this car is about 100um and does not fluctuate more than 30um. My testing habit is to test from left to right and from front to back, so I start with the hood. You can see The paint value of the machine cover has exceeded the limit, reaching 188um, so the front cover has been repaired by spray painting.
I opened the cover and looked at the hinge screws. I found that there was obvious disassembly and traces of post-painting.It seems that the accident at the front of this car must be quite serious. If you just remove the hood hinge screws to adjust the position or spray paint, you won't hide the screws by spray paint, right? Mostly to cover up the accident at the front! Do not believe? Later, when I checked the various labels affixed to the inside of the hood, I found that the corners were warped. The car had only been driven for a year. If it had not been artificially torn off and re-pasted, there would be no warping.
Moreover, on the inside of the front edge of the machine cover, you can see traces of the repair tool biting the machine cover and the hammer hitting the repair cover. Therefore, the front machine cover was deformed by impact and was stretched and repaired.
Next, let’s take a look at the headlights on the left and right sides. Although the production date of the headlights was not found, the material and workmanship quality of the headlights are not like Lexus original headlights, and there are signs of disassembly.
There is also the headlight frame, which is also the water tank frame. The more I look at it, the more something is wrong. There are obvious traces of post-painting. As expected, I used a paint film meter and the reading was as high as more than 600 um. I touched the back of the frame with my hand again and could feel the traces of frame welding.
Then I looked at the connection location between the water tank frame and the girder longitudinal beam, and sure enough there were solder joints. Then I know how the car was restored at that time. The sheet metal master who repaired this car did not remove the welding points from the frame welding points to remove the water tank frame, but cut and replaced it, so if you just look at the welding points of the water tank frame, you will not be able to find any problems.
You can take a look. These are the solder joints on the water tank frame. Are there any problems? There are no signs of disassembly or repainting, and it looks completely normal.
But he actually cut and welded it from the two sides in the picture above, and replaced it with a new water tank frame, so the screws on the top were not removed, but the invisible lower part was where the water tank frame and the girder were connected. Re-welded. So if you look at it as an ordinary person, even if you have a little knowledge about cars, you won't find that it has been cut! According to the national standards, this Lexus RX is considered an accident vehicle, and it has affected the safety of the vehicle.
From this photo, you can feel the damage to the vehicle after the impact. The distance between the water tank frame and the valve body cover was still relatively long. Now, after the impact, it has been squeezed to the side of the valve body cover and is about to come together!
Then I found that the front anti-collision beam and water tank, condenser , cooling fan were all replaced, and the left front longitudinal beam was deformed and repaired. The longitudinal beam was damaged and repaired. What does it mean that I don’t need to Say more?
Fortunately, the front collision did not invade the top of the shock absorber, and there are no problems with the left and right fenders frames.
The way to look at the production date of the car glass of this Lexus RX is different from how we usually look at the glass date of Fuyao . I can only say that the production date of the car glass of Lexus is very difficult to calculate! ! ! I won’t go into details here for fear of confusing you, haha. Let’s just talk about the results. I took a look and found that all the glass in the car is still original. This one is relatively good. Even in such a big accident at the front, the front guard was not damaged, which proves that the quality is still good.
then inspected the inside and outside of the ABC pillars and beams of the vehicle and found that they were in original factory condition with no problems. So except for the accident at the front of the car, this one-year-old almost-new Lexus RX is in original factory condition. What a pity for this car.
I was about to start the engine inspection. At this time, the customer's brother called me to ask about the condition of the car. I truthfully explained to him that there was an accident at the front of the car and that the longitudinal beam had been repaired. Afterwards, I checked the online quotation of the same model of Lexus RX450h. I can see that the car sources are also very scarce, and most of the quotations are around 600,000. If this car had not been in an accident before, the price would be quite reasonable. However, the water tank frame is cut and welded, and the front longitudinal beam is deformed and repaired. It is already an accident car, so the price must be very unreasonable. And people who plan to buy this kind of nearly new car must be looking for high-quality cars. If the price is not hugely attractive, who would consider it?
