Precisely because of the nourishment of these two waters, the groundwater level here is relatively shallow. At first, when the village dug a well, water could be found at more than one meter. Even in times of drought, water can be produced by digging four to five meters deep. During the rainy season, there is plenty of water, and you can scoop the water up directly by hanging a bucket on a pole. Fan Hongwei said there was a lot of water, but it was very salty. However, my ancestors have been used to it for generations and there is nothing they can do about it.
In 1986, with the help of Xing Yunhu, the then secretary of the village party branch, and the nearby "Saltization" provided financial support, the village bought a well in Dongguo exclusively for the villagers. The well was eight miles away from the village, so a long water pipe was buried to bring the water over, and a large pool was built at the highest point in the village. The water in Dongguo was pumped into the pond, and a faucet was installed under the pond. Villagers from every household carry poles here to collect water. Later, the water pipelines aged and the village collective did not have the funds to repair them, so the pipelines were abandoned and the wells in Dongguo were no longer in use. There was no other way, so the villagers drove three-wheelers and took plastic water bottles with a capacity of 50 kilograms to Dongguo to fetch water. Each bucket cost 50 cents. The villagers of Nanyangjiazhuang lived like this for seven or eight years, buying water and food.
In 2003, after the rural water supply project was launched, the government drilled a deep well in the border village of Dongguo and led a main pipeline to supply water to the surrounding villages. Nanyangjiazhuang Village seized the opportunity and spent more than 200,000 yuan to introduce a special branch pipeline from the main pipeline to the village. It was not until then that every household officially had access to convenient and high-quality tap water, which continues to this day. Therefore, some households near Tanli moved to the higher cliffs, and some households, about 200 people, moved to the current Xinzhuang Village (Xinzhuang Village has now been merged into Xilizhuang Village). Those who moved to Xinzhuang will never be able to come back, and those who live on the top of a mountain will never be able to come down. Liu Yunchang, an 80-year-old villager, said that there is a Black Dragon Pool right in front of the dam in Tanglitan. Because there were patches of reed growing in the duck pond, the villagers made it into reed mats for building houses. In the 1970s, such reed mats were particularly popular. If a family wants to build a house, they have to ask relatives to find the source of the goods and queue up to buy it. At that time, Sanluli and other surrounding towns used reed mats from Nanyangjiazhuang.

Around 1990, prefabricated panels began to be widely used, and the reed mats in Nanyangjiazhuang gradually withdrew from the stage of history. At that time, the main crops in the village had become cotton and corn. Around 2002, the village also tried planting several hundred acres of winter jujube for the first time because it was suitable for the large saline-alkali land here.
Before the founding of New China, there was almost no real land in Nanyangjiazhuang Village. Whether the land could be cultivated depends entirely on whether Tanglitan and Duck Pond were flooded. After the founding of New China, surrounding villages such as Rencun, Xilizhuang, and Luzigou each allocated some land to Nanyangjiazhuang Village. Now, most of the crops grown by villagers are winter dates, corn and wheat. However, even the little land that holds these crops is facing expropriation or flooding. In fact, the water that was poured into Tangli Beach last year has not completely receded until now.
The Guandao River, which comes all the way from Fancun Reservoir, flows from the northeast of Nanyangjiazhuang to Duck Pond. The planned river flows through the village for about 1,200 meters. Liu Yunchang had contracted more than 70 acres of land from other people in the past. According to him, there has been severe drought for the past eighteen years. He dug a well himself, to a depth of 14 to 15 meters.
Fan Hongwei said that drainage in the village is a problem. The whole village is low in the south and high in the north, so there is no problem of waterlogging, because the water leaves the village and goes to the duck pond. The open channel of the duck pond is narrow and shallow. When it doesn't rain, the water will naturally drain away. When rainfall increases, water will overflow into people's fields. One is that people often cannot grow their crops, and the other is that the groundwater level is rising. This is why the water level has not been able to drop for so many years. According to reports, after the renovation, most villages now use flush toilets, and the excrement produced is regularly pumped away and used as fertilizer and pulled into the fields. Fan Hongwei said that after the duck pond project is developed, he will see if he can transfer the excess land in the village to the government, and then the government will allocate a piece of land to the village to build a community to achieve overall relocation.
In recent years, with the development of the new ecological zone in the east, Nanyangjiazhuang Village has followed the trend, and its leading industry has targeted civil construction. At present, the village has five large loaders, six large excavators, eight loading and transport dump trucks, eight small freight trucks, and three motorized tricycles. In addition, the village also communicated with various parties and arranged for the remaining labor force to perform cleaning, seedling management and other work at Yuncheng University, Yuncheng Industrial and Commercial Bureau, Bund Capital Community, and Hedong Street Extension. The income level of residents has improved. There are more than 60 large and small vehicles in the village. 80% of the residents have built two or three-story houses in their homes, and their homes are fully equipped with electrification facilities.
