Taichung City’s midtown area is dominated by the old town. It used to be a glorious and prosperous city center. However, as urban development moved westward, the old town gradually declined. The city government specially held an online voting event for the top ten attractions in midtown, attracting nearly a thousand citizens. People actively voted online, and "Yanagi River Waterfront" won the first place among the top ten attractions with a vote rate of 33%. The second and third places were Caowu Road and Taichung Old Station respectively.
