Beijing time on June 17, Turkey's Fenerbahce team manager Omer Onan said that Nemanja Bjelica will work hard to get a contract with an NBA team this summer.
"We assumed that he would not stay and that he would not sign with another team in Europe. He told me that he wanted to try out in the NBA. If he signed with an NBA team, they would have to give us a buyout fee. ." said Onan.
Bjelica is from Serbia. He is a small forward, 2.08 meters tall, born in 1988. He was the 35th pick in the second round of 2010. His signing rights are currently in the hands of the Timberwolves.
According to 1500ESPN writer Darren Wolfson, if the Timberwolves are interested in trading Bjelica, the Mavericks, Spurs, Heat and Bulls are all interested in acquiring him.
Last season, Bjelica averaged 11.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for Fenerbahce.
Belica's contract with Fenerbahce has an NBA opt-out option this summer, with a buyout fee of 1.2 million euros.
