Jubei Peak is a steep mountain that few people climb. It is the second highest mountain in the city of Emeishan, Sichuan, and is adjacent to the Golden Summit of Emeishan. Recently, the news that many travel enthusiasts have climbed to the top of Jubei Peak has exploded in the circle of friends. At the same time, travelers also found fresh feces suspected of being giant pandas on their way to the top, and many local villagers also said they had discovered traces of giant panda activities.
Travelers discovered suspected fresh panda excrement
Data show that Jubei Peak is located at the junction of Dawei Town, Hanyuan County, and Hongya County, Emeishan City. It is more than 2,900 meters above sea level and faces the Golden Summit of Mount Emei. It has dense virgin forests and is rich in Chinese medicinal materials. Among the ravines, rare plants such as alpine rhododendron and Davidia involucrata can be seen everywhere.
After preliminary site visits and road exploration, on May 5, an outdoor team of 7 people including travel friend "Emei Breakpoint" successfully climbed to the top of Jubei Peak. What was even more surprising was that while walking through the dense forest, the travel friends also discovered feces that were suspected to be left by giant pandas.

Minzhu Village, Dawei Town, Emeishan City, is located at the foot of Jubei Peak. According to the village party secretary Lin Maoshu, many local villagers have also discovered traces of suspected giant panda activities. His father Lin Yongqing also went up close to the mountain to collect medicine last year. I found an animal that looked like a giant panda, but I didn’t take any photos because the old man was not skilled in using his mobile phone.
Suspected giant panda excrement
After watching the videos and photos taken by travel friends, Li Desheng, a giant panda expert at the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas, said that the shape is very similar to that of giant panda excrement, especially the video with bamboo joints in it, which is consistent with giant pandas. Based on the typical characteristics of the excrement, we can initially judge that it is the excrement of a giant panda. If conditions permit, we can send the actual object to make a more accurate judgment.
In this regard, Liu Xiaobing, chief engineer of the Emeishan Municipal Natural Resources Bureau, said that in recent years, he has received reports from local villagers many times about the discovery of wild giant pandas in the Jubei Peak area. The forestry department had also been stationed there for several months before. Unfortunately, No living giant panda was found. Due to the steep mountains and complex terrain of Jubeifeng, it is recommended that travelers take care of the environment and do not go there rashly.
