The incident happened at about 8:15 that night. Surveillance surveillance at an intersection at the scene showed that a woman was not crossing the road at the zebra crossing when suddenly a red BMW M3 speeding from east to west hit her more than 20 meters away.
After the woman rotated 360° in the air, she landed head and upper body first, fell heavily near the zebra crossing, and died on the spot.
It is understood that the deceased’s surname was Wang, from Guizhou, and he was 63 years old.
After the accident, Wang's husband rushed to the scene and recognized the driver at a glance as their boss, Chen. The couple both worked in his company.
Police introduced that the owner of the BMW M3, whose surname was Chen, was from Dachen Town, Yiwu. There was a clothing company in Dachen Town. Chen bought the car for his son, who was not in the country. Chen drove the car that night.
Chen admitted that the speed of the car was a bit too fast at the time, mainly because about two seconds before the incident, he looked to the left at the storefront on the side of the road and ignored the situation ahead.
As for the specific speed at the moment of the incident, the police are still conducting further testing.
The Internet questioned Chen's claim of drunk driving, and the police immediately conducted a blood test on him. The results showed that the blood alcohol content was 17mg/100ml. The drunk driving test was accompanied by the family members of the deceased, and the drunk driving standard was not met.
