Another eyewitness told reporters:
Eight cars collided with each other, some of the fronts were dented, and some of the rears were deformed. The most seriously damaged was the light truck that was hit from the front and rear by a container truck. The front of the truck was severely deformed due to the violent impact, and the people inside were trapped and unable to escape, with expressions of pain on their faces.
Reporters learned that after receiving the accident alarm, the 110 command center immediately notified Jimei traffic police, 120 emergency center, fire protection, and highway departments to attend the scene. Firefighters rushed to the scene, broke down the deformed car door, and rescued the trapped people from the car. After preliminary inspection by on-site medical staff, it was found that the injured person had an open fracture in his left foot and was immediately sent to the hospital for further treatment. According to personnel at the scene, in addition to the driver, many others were injured to varying degrees. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious.
