Different flower varieties have different needs for watering in different seasons. If the seedlings are replaced with too large flower pots, the seedlings have not many root systems and can only absorb moisture from the surrounding soil. Improve soil breathability
Most flower varieties like loose, breathable and well-drained soil. If the soil is not changed for a long time, the soil structure will gradually become hard and solid from looseness. Loose soil has good breathability and moisture can evaporate faster. After the hard solid soil absorbs water, the evaporation of water will slow down, which will form a large amount of accumulated water in the flower pot. Generally speaking, potted flowers need to be replaced every 1 to 2 years.
The accumulated water in the tray should be treated in time
Many flower lovers like to put a tray under the flower pot, which will not easily stain the windowsills and desktops. The water flowing out when watering flowers will be stored in the tray, which can allow the flower pot to slowly absorb water and save water resources. Although this method is good, improper operation can also cause water accumulation and root rot.
When there is stored water in the tray, the bottom of the flower pot will be soaked in the water all the time. Over time, the root system at the bottom is prone to rot if it is soaked in water. Especially in cold weather in autumn and winter, the moisture in the tray cannot evaporate clean for 3 to 4 days, and the root system must be soaked for 3 to 4 days, greatly increasing the chance of root rot. Therefore, if the moisture in the tray is not absorbed by the flower pot for more than one day, flower lovers must pour it out manually in time to avoid causing water accumulation and root rot.
