Webmaster's Home (ChinaZ.com) October 16th news: Apple has developed a docking accessory for iPad, allowing customers to turn the device into a smart home display, similar to the way Google 's Pixel tablet is done.

announced at Google's last event that it would offer a charging speaker dock that magnetically sucks on the back of the upcoming Pixel tablet, essentially turning it into a smart home display like the Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. Gurman said today that he expects Apple to bring similar features to the iPad next year with a separate dock accessory, while the company will develop a standalone product for the home that combines the display and smart speakers.
Gurman wrote in his latest Power On newsletter: "I was told that Apple is working to bring similar features to the iPad, as early as 2023. I reported last year that Apple is exploring a standalone device that combines the iPad with the speaker Hub. The idea is to provide some devices that users can put on the kitchen counter, in the living room, or on the bedside table. However, Apple is also working on an iPad docking accessory that can be sold separately, which will do most of the same thing."

Compared with Google and Amazon , Apple has been keeping a low profile in terms of home products, only released HomePod mini in October 2020, and then discontinued the production of the first generation HomePod in March 2021. The new full-size HomePod is one of several products Apple is expected to release in 2023. According to rumors, the new full-size HomePod will remain the same design as the original smart speaker, but with faster performance and may have a new display.
