On April 16, 2002, Huang Zhiwen, vice chairman of the Yunxiao County CPPCC, led members of the CPPCC Culture and History Committee to inspect the Yunxiao temples in Mapu Township. When we returned to Yunxiao after inspecting Bihu Rock and Lufeng Rock, we found that there seemed to be writing on a huge rock wall under the shade of an ancient banyan tree in the east of Mapu Fushi Village, which attracted our attention.
This is the carved stone on the left side of the Fushi Bridge. In the upper left corner of this natural boulder, which is 3.9 meters high and 1.93 meters wide, there is a monument-shaped stone carving facing southeast, with a direction of 145 degrees. This is the stone inscription that has been subject to different opinions and legends for many years. According to local people's legend: this inscription was written by Luo Yin in the Tang Dynasty, and it is also said to be inscribed by Liu Bowen in the Ming Dynasty. Since ancient times, no one can understand it. If you can read this Chinese text, you will receive a huge treasure from God.
After careful identification by several of us, we found that these words were nothing more than recording the construction of the bridge by Fu Shi and the list of donations, so we named it "Qingyun Bridge Road" Cliff Stone Carvings . After measurement, the stele is 1.77 meters high and 0.89 meters wide. The edge of this stele-shaped stone carving is engraved with twining flowers, and the upper end is chamfered. The width of the lace is 6.5 cm. There are 11 lines of text in the middle and 22 characters in the full line. The large regular script characters "Qingyunqiao Road" are engraved on the forehead. After being read on the spot by the author and Mr. Fang Qunda and Mr. Wu Dingwen, the full text is transcribed as follows:

I crossed the river in the past, but now I have changed the road and built a wooden and stone bridge. I bought and rented twelve stones and brought two buckets of rice with me. I sat in front of the rock behind Dizi and Meilong. I collected the deeds and built the bridge road. Put your name and set a standard to seek common ground.
The content of this stone inscription is basically complete except that only three characters are missing. It is recorded that the river was crossed at this place, and then the road was changed, a wooden bridge was built, and the field to protect the bridge was purchased. According to the names of the donations listed in the inscription, the donors range from old men over 80 years old to widows. Among them, five people including director "Yuanshou" Zhang Dayuan took turns to collect and store the rent of "Yuantian". The rents are used as funds for repairing bridges and roads over the years, just like today's "Bridge Repair Fund" used to "repair bridges and roads." The time is "Long Live the Emperor Ming Dynasty and the Spring Festival of 1898". According to the investigation of "Wuxu", in the Ming Dynasty, there were five Ganzhi year names: the first year of Yongle (1403), the seventh year of Tianshun (1463), the second year of Jiajing (1523), the eleventh year of Wanli (1583), and the sixteenth year of Chongzhen (1643). However, since the inscription does not contain the specific emperor's name, the specific time remains to be determined. The area around Chamapu was originally under the jurisdiction of Henan Pinghe and Hebei Province, but the inscription did not record the county to which the people belonged. According to historical records, Pinghe County was established in the 14th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1519). According to this analysis, the bridge was probably built in one of the two eras of "Yongle" or "Tianshun" before Pinghe was established. Wuxu Year , that is, a cliff stone carving in the early Ming Dynasty. On the back side of the cliff, there is an exquisitely carved stone earth temple, with the inscription "Benefit the light for thousands of sacrifices, and the flood will bring hundreds of auspiciousness." Based on its carving style and degree of weathering, it seems that it can be designated as a cultural relic of the same period and deserves to be protected. It is worth mentioning that the stone carvings here detail the donation of 44.5 taels of silver by the people, a public welfare undertaking to build roads and bridges with one heart and one mind, which is an extremely common thing. However, due to the fact that the local people lost it, many mysterious legends have been fabricated. Furthermore, due to the long-term failure to understand it, it has become somewhat mysterious among the people. After identification, the truth was finally revealed and important gains were made. The discovery of this cliff carving is of great reference value for studying the history of land transportation in the territory of Yunxiao County.
