He became Emperor Xiao, and his temple name was Xiao Zong. He was buried in Yongfu Mausoleum . " Complete Song Ci " contains one of his poems.
Later generations generally believe that Zhao Yu was the most accomplished emperor in the Southern Song Dynasty. During his reign, he vindicated the unjust case of Yue Fei, recruited war fighters, and determined to regain the Central Plains; in internal affairs, he strengthened centralization of power, actively rectified officialdom, eliminated redundant officials, punished corruption, paid attention to agricultural production, and the people lived well, which is known in history as "the rule of Qian Chun". Later generations called it "Zhuoran was the first among the emperors of Nandu".
In the 29th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1159), the 53-year-old Song Gaozong Zhao Gou was still childless at this time. His only biological son Zhao Cang died in the Miao and Liu mutiny in the third year of Jianyan (1129).
His biological son died young, and during the Jingkang Incident, Song Taizong Zhao Guangyi's descendants were almost wiped out by the Jin soldiers. After learning from the painful experience, after the death of his only son Yao Three years later (1132), Song Gaozong Zhao Gou selected two seventh-generation grandsons of Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin from among the people: Zhao Yu and Zhao Yuan
Zhao Yuan: (first named Zhao Bocong, changed his name to Zhao Yuan after entering the palace, then changed his name to Zhao Wei, Zhao Shen, and later Song Xiaozong), Zhao Yu was trained in the palace -After that, he was Song Xiaozong

At present, the two candidates for the successor have entered their prime. Zhao Xu has the support of Song Gaozong's biological mother, the Empress Dowager Wei, and Song Gaozong's wife, Queen Wu. However, Zhao Yuan has been opposed by the powerful minister Qin Hui, as well as the Queen Mother Wei and Queen Wu.
There is no doubt that the political situation is obviously more favorable to Zhao Can.
But Song Gaozong still wanted to give it a try, so Song Gaozong Zhao Gou ordered that 10 of the 20 beauties selected by him be sent to serve Zhao Quan, and 10 were sent to serve Zhao Yuan.
After some time, Song Gaozong recalled all 20 beauties for a physical examination. The results showed that all 10 beauties serving Zhao Quan were no longer virgins, but the 10 beauties serving Zhao Yuan were as good as ever.
Although he was quite lustful, Song Gaozong already had the answer in his mind as to who to choose as his successor.
So, in February of the thirtieth year of Shaoxing (1160), after dealing with the funeral of his mother, Queen Mother Wei, Song Gaozong officially announced that he would change the name of his adopted son Zhao Yuan, the prince of Pu'an County, who was not a womanizer, to Zhao Wei, and he would be promoted to King Jian and established as a prince.
The adopted son Zhao Xu, the prince of Enping County, who gave birth to all 10 beauties, was identified as the "emperor's nephew" and sent to Shaoxing Prefecture for resettlement.

After nearly 30 years of selection, Song Gaozong Zhao Gou finally determined his successor. Two years later, in May of the 32nd year of Shaoxing (1162), Song Gaozong established Zhao Wei as the crown prince and changed his name to Zhao Shen [shèn]. 163 years "Government of Qian Chun"
After the failure of the Longxing Northern Expedition , Zhao Hao turned to stability in both domestic and foreign policies, and the Southern Song Dynasty court was intoxicated in the peaceful scene of "nothing at home and abroad" and a peaceful corner. At that time, the society was prosperous, people lived and worked in peace and contentment, and political prosperity was present. The government of the Southern Song Dynasty attached great importance to production, encouraged farming and mulberry cultivation, and built water conservancy projects. The people were harmonious and peaceful, families had enough food, cattle and horses were everywhere, and surplus grain was distributed in the fields. There was a peaceful scene of peace and prosperity in the world. It is called the "Government of Qian Chun" in history.
October 187 Zhao Gou passed away, and Zhao Dao was in mourning.
In October of the fourteenth year of Chunxi (1187), Zhao Gou passed away in Deoksugong . After hearing this, Zhao Dao burst into tears and could not eat for two days. Song Guangzong - Zhao Dun
Zhao He claimed to be the Supreme Emperor and lived in Cifu Palace, which was later renamed Chonghua Palace. The ministers honored him as Shouhuang Holy Emperor. Zhao He continued to mourn Zhao Gou on June 28, 1944. Died in Chonghua Hall
Summary of the life of Zhao Shen, Xiaozong of Song Dynasty
On the second day of May in the fifth year of Shaoxi (1194), Zhao Shen fell ill. On the ninth day of the sixth lunar month (June 28), Zhao Hao died in the Chonghua Hall at the age of sixty-eight. On October 29th, the ministers gave him the posthumous title of Emperor Zhewen, Shenwu and Chengxiao, and the temple name was Xiaozong. The closing of the Buddha wall clock is mostly empty, probably to make the sound clearer. When Zhao was a child, he accidentally came to Zhenru Temple in Xiuzhou, inside and outside the county, and climbed up to the bell tower to play. The monks first covered the empty space with reed vines, stepped on it by mistake, and fell off. The bystanders were panicked and rushed to see, but Zhao Xun sat there without any fear. This is the same as those recorded in historical books when Song Taizu's men and horses fell on the Bian City Tower when he was young.
Not Greedy for Beauty
Zhao Zhen has been raised in the palace for nearly twenty years, but his title as prince has never been determined.Until the death of Empress Dowager Wei, Emperor Gaozong sent ten beauties to each of the two would-be heirs, and recalled them after a while. After inspection, it was found that the ten girls given to Zhao Zhuo were no longer virgins, but the ten girls given to Zhao Hao were still perfect (Zhao Hao followed the advice of teacher Shi Hao). As a result, Zhao Min finally established his status as crown prince.
He was frugal
Zhao Min set an example and advocated frugality. History called him "frugal and respectful in nature". Emperor Gaozong and Zhao Gou praised him as "more diligent and frugal than the ancient emperors". When Zhao Xun came to the throne, he refused to use music. He spends very little in daily life, often wears old clothes, and doesn't do much building work. The ministers were rarely rewarded, and the palace's income had not been used for many years, so that the ropes through which the coins were threaded in the inner treasury rotted. Zhao Hao believed that "I don't have much else to do except to be frugal." He often told the scholar-officials around him: "Scholar-officials are role models for customs and should cultivate their own virtues to educate customs."
Song Xiaozong
Zhao He is not Zhao Gou’s biological son, why can he become the heir?
After the Jingkang Incident, the Song Dynasty experienced great turmoil. Almost all members of the Northern Song Dynasty royal family were captured and went to the north, while Song Gaozong established the Southern Song Dynasty. Maybe it was for this reason that Gaozong became very timid and could not stand being scared. He always wanted a stable life and did not want to think about big conflicts.
Zhao Gou was originally fertile, and he had a large number of children with his wives and concubines: several daughters and a son. However, after being frightened by Jin Bing, he never had any children again.
Unfortunately, Zhao Gou's daughters were all kidnapped to the Kingdom of Jin during the "Jingkang Disgrace" and never came back.
Also abducted at the same time was an unborn child, the child he had with his first wife, Concubine Xing. However, the child was aborted before it was born (due to abuse by Jin Bing), so the gender is unknown.
Movie and TV Zhao Gou
The only remaining boy was born after he ascended the throne in Yingtian Mansion, Nanjing, and his name was Zhao Min.
But when Zhao Min was more than 2 years old, he was frightened to death because of a fright. From then on, Zhao Gou died.
For a time, the crown prince was left alone. The prince is the foundation of the country. If the prince is not established, the government and the opposition will not be stable.
Being an emperor is really a hard job. You have worked hard all your life, and you have to choose a competent heir before you die. If you do not do this job well, you will be condemned by future generations. Kangxi This is the case. This old man was very powerful in civil and martial arts throughout his life, but he was laughed at by later generations because of the issue of heirs, and said that this was the only stain in his life.
From then on, the throne returned to the lineage of Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin
