The son of Li Jing’s younger brother, Li Keshi.
When Li Shimin fought in the east during the expedition to Goryeo in , he fought bravely and took the lead in every battle.
Li Kai, whose courtesy name is Demo, was born in 606.
has an epitaph unearthed.
Li Kai was born in the Danyangfang of the Li family in Longxi, and his family background was prominent. He was one of the five surnames and seven hopes. The descendants of the Han Dynasty Flying General.
Li Kai is graceful and elegant, and cautious. He appears very mature when he was young. When he grows up, he has the ability to know people and is both civil and military. There is no dandy style of a second-generation official.
"Epitaphs of Li Fujun, Shangzhu Kingdom of the Tang Dynasty"[3][2] records: Li Kai, whose courtesy name is Demo, was a native of Chengji, Longxi, and was a Flying General of the Han Dynasty. There is little like becoming a human being, but it will be a lesson for people to know each other.
According to the unearthed epitaph of Li Kai, he is very filial to his parents, settles his parents in the morning and evening, and is friendly to his brothers. He has no brothers' misfortune, which means that their brothers have a very good relationship (four brothers) and has lofty ambitions.
epitaphs record that he followed Li Shimin and Goryeo. Li Kai performed very well. He conquered cities and land and charged in every battle. He must first board every battle. Speaking of this, he remembered someone, Luo Shixin and Qin Qiong . They were under the Zhang Xutuo tent, and they charged in every battle. This shows that Li Kai was very skilled in martial arts and very brave in his conquest of Goryeo. He did not consider his own safety and should be a pioneer.
Li Kai is the first in the vanguard army, so Li Shimin frequently asked him to act as the vanguard of the city, and soon his military achievements were accumulated to , the 12-pin (twelve turns). This is a real military achievement, not a merit, but a reward.
This time, there is in the epitaph: "Every city will fall, and you will climb first whenever you are in battle. You will be ashamed of death as you go home, regardless of the future, and you will always be the first in your merits and your destiny will be frequently added. The honors will be won by the emperor, and you will be awarded the title of the Shangzhu Kingdom."
When the Eastern Expedition to Goryeo, it was not smooth sailing. It was blocked by Liaoshan and 海水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水水 Liaoshan is the birthplace of Santongbeiling, northeast of Qingyuan Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province, and the Bing River, the birthplace of Liaoshui (Xiaoliao Water). The Bing River is south of Pyongyang , and is now the Datong River, North Korea.
From July to September of the following year, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty (644), from the following year, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty Li Shimin sent troops Liaodong attacked Goguryeo . First, they conquered Gaimu and other 10 cities. Li Shimin was too determined to be stable and did not adopt the suggestions of taking advantage of the situation to directly take advantage of Pyongyang, giving up Anshi , and taking Wugucheng first, and failed to win unexpectedly. Because Anshi could not capture it for a long time, the weather was cold and the food transportation was not good, he was forced to withdraw his troops.
The war during the Eastern Expedition, especially the vanguard troops, can be imagined that the pressure was very huge. It conquered ten cities in a row. There is no record of which cities Li Kai participated in. Li Kai was in his prime during the Eastern Expedition at the age of 39.
Li Kai was a student of the Imperial College and joined the officialdom. He started his career and served in the imperial court. There was no record of other official positions, which shows that Li Kai had always served as a security work for Li Shimin when he was traveling. He was only in the military position as a vanguard when he was conquering Goryeo.
Li Kai is in Li Zhi In the sixth year of Yonghui, in June 655, he suddenly fell seriously ill. Unfortunately, many famous doctors were helpless and had good medicines, and they could die at any time. It took a month to wait and finally died at home in July, at the age of fifty.
Unfortunately, there is no experience in Li Kai's employment after returning from Goryeo, nor is there any record of his wife.
Li Kai's performance on the battlefield of Goryeo was excellent. He accumulated military achievements and was awarded the title of Shangzhu Kingdom. This is a real military merit. How could he have no other official positions? It is speculated that he might be involved in the Fang Yiai Rebellion case , because other events cannot match the number in time!
Li Lingwen 's grandson Li Yanfang worked as a military officer during the Dahe period of Emperor Wenzong of Tang Dynasty. He presented more than ten volumes of official notices, edicts, handwritten edicts, handwritten edicts and handwritten edicts given to Duke Wei by Emperor Taizong Li Jing, including four volumes of handwriting of Emperor Taizong Wen. Emperor Wenzong of Tang was loved by Emperor Wen after getting it.
Tang Emperor Wenzong gave Li Yanfang two hundred pieces of silk, clothes, and boots to repay him.
Li Yanfang's actions indicate that Li Keshi's descendants had already declined during the reign of Emperor Wenzong of Tang.
