Back then, there was a talented man named Zhang Jixian in Shandong. By chance, Zhang Jixian met Zeng Suzhen, the wife of the local evil young man Shi Wancang. The two fell in love at first sight and met every night.
Shi Wancang is a drunken guy. Once, Shi Wancang died of excessive drinking and alcohol poisoning. The Shi family suspected that Shi Wancang was killed by his wife Zeng Suzhen, so they sued the county government and said that Zeng Suzhen killed his husband for escaping. After the county magistrate took the lawsuit, he threw Zhang Jixian and Zeng Suzhen into prison without asking any questions, sentenced to death, and took him from the county government to the capital.
Once, Emperor Qianlong read the case and saw Zhang Jixian's confession. He was very surprised to see his extraordinary writing style. So Emperor Qianlong went to prison to visit Zhang Jixian himself. During the conversation, Emperor Qianlong was convinced that Zhang Jixian was a talented man, so he wanted to save him. Soon, Emperor Qianlong visited Jiangnan for a private visit. When he passed by Weishan Lake, he stayed for several days. After Qianlong became familiar with the mountains and rivers here, he criticized the emperor: He sent Zhang Jixian to the mouth of the tiger, and Zeng Suzhen to the mouth of the black wind.
Although Zhang Jixian and Zeng Suzhen were both wrongly sent to prison, their relationship has never ended. After being granted the emperor's approval to be sent to the "two", I was overjoyed. The two of them often came and went with each other, very free. They traveled between the wailing tiger mouth and the black wind mouth in this way, and were called "couples".
Later, people referred to "two children" as "couple couples".
