"Luo Changzi, don't be afraid. This time the sky falls, I will help you with it!"
One day in early November 1949, Luo Ruiqing received an emergency call. The caller was not someone else, but his old leader Mao Zedong.
On the phone, Mao Zedong told Luo Ruiqing seriously that there was an important task waiting for him and he needed to rush over in person.
After hanging up the phone, Luo Ruiqing did not dare to neglect for a moment. He trotted all the way to Chairman Mao's office. The moment he pushed open the door, Luo Ruiqing stuck his head out and looked in.
"Luo Changzi, come here, today I have a task to hand over to you." Chairman Mao waved to Luo Ruiqing with a serious face, and then sat on the chair behind him.
Luo Ruiqing felt something was getting worse and worse. He stood straight beside Chairman Mao, waiting for Chairman Mao's orders. Unexpectedly, the Chairman mentioned to him a "past event" from eighteen years ago.
Chairman Mao told Luo Ruiqing that this incident had always been a heart-wrenching problem for him. However, due to the special circumstances during the Revolutionary War, he had never had time to investigate and understand. Now that the New China has established , the investigation of this matter is left to Luo Ruiqing to handle it with full authority.
In order to appease Luo Ruiqing's emotions, Chairman Mao also said humorously: If the sky falls, he will help him with it. Luo Ruiqing will never be injured.
So, what exactly is this case that Chairman Mao personally inquired about? How did Luo Ruiqing and others find out the truth? 18 years have passed, why does Chairman Mao still miss this matter?
All of this will start with the meeting between Chairman Mao and Luo Ruiqing.
work together to "rescue comrades"
1931's Shanghai beach was turbulent. At that time, the revolutionary movement led by our party was in an unprecedented "low trough".
In order to avoid the pursuit of the Kuomintang military and police, many people have drawn a clear line with the Communists, and some even gained unjust wealth by betraying revolutionary comrades.
In March of that year, important person in charge of Central Special Correspondence Gu Shunzhang was arrested by the Kuomintang military and police in Shanghai. But what everyone did not expect was that after was arrested, Gu Shunzhang quickly betrayed without being severely tortured.
Gu Shunzhang's rebellion was an extremely heavy blow to the underground party organizations in Shanghai at that time.
Because as a senior head of our party’s intelligence agency, Gu Shunzhang not only knows the secrets of our party, but also has close contacts with a large number of important cadres of our party, including Zhou Enlai, Liu Bocheng, and Chen Geng. Fortunately, not long after Gu Shunzhang was arrested, the underground party member lurking inside the enemy, Qian Zhuangfei tried his best to deliver the information to the organization, so that our party can preserve the most critical force.
But even so, Gu Shunzhang still betrayed many good comrades from our party. Some comrades were taken away by Kuomintang spies without knowing it.
At this time, the most anxious thing is the comrades who are still working in the Soviet area. Due to the blocked news and inconvenient transportation, Mao Zedong, Zhu De and others who were far away in the Jiangxi base area had no idea about the situation of the Shanghai Party organization.
In order to solve this problem, they sent several groups of underground party members, but never got the news they wanted.
Mao Zedong and others considered that in order to save people from the Kuomintang or inquire about intelligence, they must adopt the "bribery" method.
So, if you want to save the comrades in Shanghai, you must put out a lot of money, and it is best to be the most valuable gold of " white area "!
However, at that time, the Red Army 's whole meal was a big problem. Where did you get so much gold for the Kuomintang officials?
The person wearing a top hat in the back row is Gu Shunzhang
Finally, Mao Zedong and Zhu De gathered all the cadres and asked them to organize the soldiers to find gold together. All gold products that can be found will be handed over to the organization.
At the same time, all the valuable items seized from the previous battle with the enemy were also concentrated, and the gold products were selected!
After collecting these gold products, Mao Zedong asked someone to put them into a furnace, turn them into gold and water, and then cast them into gold bars.
In this way, plus the few gold bars I obtained in trade, I thought that I finally had enough 120 taels of gold, and replaced it with more than 20 gold bars.
The quantity of these gold bars is barely enough now, but there is still a proper way to transport them to Shanghai and hand them over to the underground party comrades there.
After all, this is a little gold that all comrades and the masses in the base area have saved money, and there must be no "accident" on the way.
At this critical moment, Lin Boqu stood up. Mr. Lin joined Tongmenghui in his early years and knew very well about the Kuomintang and their behavior. Therefore, it is perfect for him to think of a way to deal with Kuomintang spies.
So, what kind of "scheme" did Lin Boqu set for the Red Army so that they could transport gold under the nose of the Kuomintang?
Silent "Golden Robbery"
According to Lin Boqu's method, people have to put the more than 20 gold bars into an iron box. Then ask the skilled craftsmen in the base to solder all the gaps in the iron box to be soldered to death.
Then, the iron box was sent out by the underground party members. In order to ensure the "top secret" of this operation, the underground party members responsible for transporting the iron boxes will only contact two comrades who are adjacent to them to ensure the safety of themselves and the gold box.
In addition, Lin Boqu also recommends "segment transportation". According to his plan, the Red Army selected seven transportation nodes, namely Ruijin , Nanping , Fuzhou, Wenzhou , Jinhua , Hangzhou, Songjiang, and finally arrived in Shanghai.
In order to ensure that the base area can always grasp the transportation of this batch of gold, we also made a chess with the word "fast".
Whenever gold arrives at a place, the underground party member responsible for handover will write a stroke on the chess with different colors of pens and ink. When the box arrives in Shanghai, the Shanghai underground party comrades are responsible for sending it back. This can be kept confidential and as controllable as possible.
But even so, everyone is still worried. Finally, everyone decided on a solution together: seven compartments are set up inside the box, and the keys to all compartments are handed over by the previous underground party member.
In this way, when he reaches the last comrade, he can get eight keys. As long as there are fewer chess and keys, the box cannot be opened.
Logically speaking, such a plan is already perfect, but a few months later, the revolutionary base in Jiangxi received bad news: the batch of gold transported from the base was lost on the road, and the underground party comrades in Shanghai waited for more than a month but did not see the batch of gold.
The news reached Mao Zedong's ears, and his hands were trembling with anger. But after calming down, I still asked about the relevant situation as soon as possible!
According to the news sent back by the underground comrades in front, the chess used for handover was found, and there were six strokes written on it, which means that the gold should have been thrown near Songjiang.
But all the clues suddenly disconnected here. Even the underground party members of Songjiang who were in charge of the transfer at that time lost contact with the party organization.
A few months later, a group of comrades withdrawn from Shanghai came to the Jiangxi base area, and we all established the Central Soviet Area together. All work has also begun to move forward in an orderly manner.
Since there was no clue for the disappearance of gold for a while, no matter how anxious Mao Zedong was, he could only put it on hold for the time being!
However, due to the subsequent ups and downs of the revolution, it was not until after the founding of New China that Mao Zedong turned it out and handed it over to Comrade Luo Ruiqing, the first Minister of Public Security of New China. And it was already 18 years since the incident occurred!
Although 18 years have passed, when Chairman Mao handed over this task to Luo Ruiqing, Luo Ruiqing was still worried! He knew that this case must be involved in a wide range of things and the complexity was beyond imagination. Once the scourge was revealed, the consequences would be unimaginable!
Seeing Luo Ruiqing's face feeling worried, Chairman Mao smiled and said:
After hearing Chairman Mao’s words, Luo Ruiqing made up his mind and began to think about how to solve the case! You should know that the "golden disappearance case" that shocked the entire Soviet area has been eighteen years.
Many key clues have disappeared, and most of the comrades who experienced this incident were sacrificed. Where should we start?
Investigation details The major case was solved
Luo Ruiqing is very clear. To find out the truth about that incident, it is best to find underground party members who have experienced this incident. After everyone's search, we found that the last underground party member responsible for carrying out this task was Liu Zhichun.
According to Comrade Liu Zhichun's description, he was an underground party member in Shanghai and was also the person in charge of the last link of this task. According to his description, he arrived at the designated joint location according to the organization's arrangement, but he never saw the previous comrade coming to hand over.
At the beginning, Liu Zhichun thought that the previous comrade had something to waste time. As a result, more than a month passed, and he still didn't wait for the gold to save his life, so he reported to the organization.
After receiving Liu Zhichun's report, the organization told him the place where his previous comrade was in Songjiang. But when Liu Zhichun rushed to the designated location to check, he found that the place had already been empty. But the chess piece used by the underground party members to hand over was found by Liu Zhichun.
In other words, something must have happened in Songjiang. What everyone needs to do next is to make a detailed analysis of the situation in Songjiang that year.
Investigators found that in 1931, there were only five hotels open to the public in Songjiang, four of which are still in business.
Generally speaking, underground party members have a great mobility in their work. Except for some long-term lurking people, many of them will stay in hotels at the dispatch location.
So after some investigation, the investigators finally locked in a man named Liang Bichun. Back then, he was a student with progressive ideas and had followed Marxism for a period of time. But later, for some reason, he suddenly became rich and started a business.
Investigators thought Liang Bichun was very suspicious and immediately asked Liu Zhichun to come and confront him. Faced with ironclad evidence, Liang Bichun had to admit that he was the person in charge of the "Songjiang Section" who was responsible for transferring the batch of gold.
"So it's you, tell me quickly! Where did you hide that money?" The police officers who learned the truth were furious. He slapped one hand on the table, and his eyes were filled with anger, as if he could swallow Liang Bichun at any time.
Liang Bichun had long been scared by the posture in front of him. He shook his head quickly and replied in a trembling voice:
"Comrade, you can't wrongly accuse me! I did lose the gold, but I didn't steal the money! Otherwise, the Red Team would not have spared me."
According to Liang Bichun's own confession, he had an accident when he was responsible for transporting this batch of gold. Originally, after getting the gold, he lived in a local inn in Songjiang, and was preparing to leave for Shanghai the next day.
But in the evening that day, two people who looked like servants entered their room and brought him a bowl of tea. At that time, Liang Bichun was full of tasks, so she didn't care so much. She picked up the tea bowl and drank the tea in it. After
, he fell to the bed with a dizzy look. When he woke up, the box containing gold in was gone!
At that time, Liang Bichun was rummaging around the room as if she was crazy, but she couldn't find any trace of the box. At this time, Liang Bichun thought of our party's discipline and the "white terror" created by the Kuomintang, and became increasingly scared.
In order to avoid the investigation of the Kuomintang military and police, and to prevent our party's "red team" from coming to him, Liang Bichun escaped from Songjiang City overnight and hid in the countryside for a while. He returned to Songjiang the next year and started a small business.
Because the previous comrade who was responsible for handing over with Liang Bichun in the revolutionary war unfortunately died, Liu Zhichun did not contact Liang Bichun.
So, no one knew that Liang Bichun was once an underground member of the Communist Party of China, and he lived an ordinary life in hiding his identity.
However, the police officers were obviously not very satisfied with this result. Even if Liang Bichun did not steal this batch of gold privately, he should be punished if he lost his supplies.
Unless he can cooperate with the police to continue the investigation, until he catches the thieves who stole gold back then!
At this time, Liang Bichun had no choice but to avoid punishment, he could only cooperate with the public security department. He wiped the sweat beads on his forehead and said while panting:
"I must cooperate with the comrades' investigation. I remember I lived in the Hanyuan Hotel back then. They are still open now. You can go there to check it!"
Sure enough, following the series of clues provided by Liang Bichun based on the memories, people quickly locked in a small boss named Ji Jiagui.
This man worked as a rickshaw driver in Songjiang in his early years, and relied on selling his strength to make a living every day, but for some reason he suddenly turned into a "big boss" and moved to Shanghai in 1935.
A rickshaw driver became a big boss overnight, definitely not because of how excellent his own abilities are, but because there must be a kind of "external force" that has provided him with help. After locking in the suspect, the police officers immediately went to Shanghai to arrest Ji Jiagui.
After Ji Jiagui was arrested at the police station, he immediately showed a philanthropic face. He also attempted to bribe the police officers of the police station, but everyone refused on the spot. Afterwards, everyone called Liang Bichun to identify the thief and finally confirmed Ji Jiagui's identity.
Jijiagui was unable to deny it, so he took the initiative to ask for a leniency opportunity through "providing intelligence" . Seeing him say this, the police officers showed an incredible expression. Could it be that there are any other "hidden information" in this case?
It turns out that there were two people who stole gold with Ji Jiagui. They are a hawker and a hotel guy respectively. As soon as Liang Bichun entered the door that day, they noticed the big box in his hand.
Then after discussion, Ji Jiagui was responsible for getting the medicine, and the other two were responsible for taking the water and inquiring about the situation.
After confirming that Liang Bichun was not threatening, they entered Liang Bichun's room together and watched him drink the bowl of tea with the pest. After Liang Bichun fell, they picked up the gold and ran away. After succeeding
, the three of them came to a hidden corner of the city to divide the stolen gold. In order to prevent being caught by the police in the future, they agreed to enjoy their own wealth and honor from then on and never meet each other.
After that, all three of them went to Shanghai to develop together. Jijiagui opened a small hotel in Shanghai, and the other two started their business in Bund .
However, these situations are just judgments made by Ji Jiagui based on the rumors he heard. As for whether the two people are still in the Bund in Shanghai, he is not very clear.
Shanghai Public Security Bureau decided to search the shops around the Bund first to see if it is possible to catch the other two suspects.
The final result did not disappoint everyone. A suspect in opened a hardware store on the Bund. He was still open after the founding of New China, and the other died during 's Anti-Japanese War .
After being arrested, the arrested suspect confessed to his crimes and took the initiative to hand over some of his property, begging the people's government to give "leniency" to their case as appropriate.
Finally, after comprehensive consideration, the people's government confiscated part of the property of Ji Jiagui and another suspect, and made a judgment on them in accordance with the law, so that justice was upheld.
After the "golden disappearance case" was solved, Luo Ruiqing excitedly ran to Chairman Mao with the final report and told him that his task had finally been completed.
Looking at the dense investigation reports in my hands, Chairman Mao shook his head. This result made everyone feel regretful and regretful. However, after this investigation, Chairman Mao’s knot was finally completely untied.
In the past few decades, countless revolutionary ancestors have given their lives to build a new China where everyone is equal, prosperous, strong and peaceful.
Most of them have not left their names in history books, but their merits will be remembered by the people from generation to generation, and their wishes will be fulfilled by the descendants of future generations!
The great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is a historical trend and no one can stop it! Those sins curled up in the dark will one day be exposed to the sun and accepted by the people's judgment!
days net is vast and sparse without leaking. The new China, built by the Communists, is a society ruled by law. Nothing can surpass the moral bottom line and the legal standards of people.
Our law will never wrongly accuse any good person, let alone let go of any bad person. All disputes and crimes will be tried by the law most fairly and justly, and will become the best proof of a "rule of law society".
