1976, Chairman Mao, a great man of a generation, passed away, and the whole country was suddenly in grief.

In order to arrange the Chairman's funeral, the relevant departments quickly sent someone to formulate a roster of wakes for him. During the verification, the Chairman's daughter Li Min suddenly realized something was wrong.

"I have another brother? Why is he not on it?"

When everyone heard her words, they were confused. Except for Mao Anying, where did Li Min get his brother?

The staff did not dare to be careless about this matter. After asking for instructions, they understood who Li Min said was, He Lucheng, who worked in a certain unit.

It’s strange that no one has mentioned his existence for many years? Why is his surname "He" not "Mao"?

01

"Brother" I have never met

After the Lushan Conference in 1959, Chairman Mao hurried back to Beijing to preside over his daughter's wedding himself.

Before he went to Lushan, he told his daughter to wait for him to come back in Beijing. Moreover, he had already discussed and agreed to his daughter's marriage with He Zizhen in Lushan, and decided to handle it soon after he went back.

Li Min was very happy when he learned about it. He also told his daughter that three people should be invited at this wedding.

Li Min is not unfamiliar with Deng Yingchao and Wang Jifan .

One was with him when he was just born and had a very good relationship. One is my father's Hunan fellow villager. The two worked together in Beijing and took care of each other for many years. It should be invited for reason.

For the third place, Li Min was surprised because her father actually told her that she had an older brother! what is going on? She has many questions about this "brother" she has never met and has never met.

Under Li Min's inquiry, she learned about the deeds of this "brother" from her father.

Who is the "brother"

In 1949, our army went south, and many areas along the way were liberated, including Jiangxi.

One day, a woman came to Yongxin, Jiangxi. claimed to be here to find her son . She said that she was an old Red Army soldier, and then walked into the yard of resident He Tiaoyuan.

He Lucheng's grandfather walked out when he heard the woman's voice. When he saw the woman, tears fell down. He wiped his tears and told Lucheng who was in the yard that this was his mother whom he was looking forward to coming back day and night!

Lu Cheng was stunned all of a sudden. His parents had no news for so many years. His father died for the country, but he had never heard of his mother. Now my mother is finally back. He suddenly threw himself into the woman's arms, and tears burst out from his eyes.

She is He Yi, and He Lu becomes the mother she misses.

However, how could a mother be willing to part with her child for so long? And why did He Lu become the surname that did not follow the Mao family?

It turned out that at that time, He Yi's husband Mao Zetan received a task sent by the organization to lead the troops away from here to carry out guerrilla warfare . He Yi was pregnant at that time and did not go to the front line.

What no one expected was that in 1935, when He Yi was two or three months pregnant, Mao Zeqian died on the battlefield due to combat. When the news came, He Yi was hit and fell to the ground.

Before Mao Zetan died, he transferred "Little Maomao" elsewhere without telling his wife.

After giving birth to the child, He Yi made the same choice, entrusting the child to her fellow villagers, and she went to the front line and striving for the country.

He Yi changed his son's name to "He Lucheng". Both words have been changed, but the word "Cheng" has not changed: "Cheng", which means hope for the success of the revolution. What a meaningful word!

After doing all this, He Yi went to Yan'an to participate in the revolution without hesitation.

And here He Lucheng is also growing up, and he often asks his grandfather where his parents are. But grandpa only told him that his parents were going to participate in the revolution, and when they were victorious, it was when their parents came back.

He Lucheng looks forward to it every day and will do his homework at the door after dinner. He hopes that his parents will appear.

In 1949, New China was officially established, and He Yi and his son were finally reunited.

Over the years, He Yi has lived a hard life, and even almost separated from her son by an accident.

In 1940, He Yi accidentally fell into the hands of the enemy. After experiencing various tortures from the enemy, she never spoke up and refused to reveal a trace of information because she knew that she could not say that it was a secret!

He Yi was determined not to betray the organization. At the critical moment of being forced, He Yi Ning refused to surrender and decided to commit suicide by swallowing the gold ring. Fortunately, she was rescued in time. The organization sent people to exchange prisoners of war to replace He Yi.

Although He Yi was rescued, his injuries were very serious and he could only undergo surgery. But there was an accident during the operation, and no one could sign it, and her relatives were not there.

He Yi's condition is very critical. She is in danger of life at any time when she is on the operating table. In the end, Chairman Mao signed her in time and the operation was successful.

Whenever He Yi thinks of all this, he feels very sad. However, after more than ten years, the mother and son who have been separated for a long time finally meet again.

03

He Yi unfortunately died

When the mother and son got to know each other, He Yi brought her son back to Shanghai and prepared to live there.

He Zizhen, who had just returned to Shanghai from abroad, was very envious of her sister and her son's reunion, and missed her "little maomao". So I asked my sister to help find it in Jiangxi together.

During the Long March of the Red Army in 1934, in order to ensure the safety of the children, the organization arranged that all children could not go out with them, but they could be taken care of by local fellow villagers.

Chairman Mao had a child over two years old at the time, known as "Little Maomao", but the organization stipulated that children were not allowed to be taken, so he had no choice but to hand over "Little Maomao" to Mao Zetan, who was staying in the fight against guerrillas.

Mao Zeqian was an officer in the army at that time and was unable to escape the war and revolutionary work. He and his comrades Chen Yi and others went through difficulties and obstacles. He Yi agreed immediately, hoping to help her sister.

Since then, He Yi often traveled outside, collecting various information to find "Little Maomao", but in the end he got nothing.

Finally, at the end of 1949, the staff told her that there seemed to be news of "Little Maomao". After learning about this, He Yi couldn't wait to go and check it out.

But it was already late at that time, and the road was steep, so unfortunately there was a car accident. He Yi died on the spot, and although He Lucheng was not in danger of his life under the protection of his mother, his legs were also hit severely.

The comrades who were riding with them almost escaped and rushed to Beijing to report the matter to Chairman Mao. When he learned about it, he was heartbroken and immediately stated that he would not continue looking for it.

He Zizhen was heartbroken and blamed herself very much after hearing this news. My sister had a car accident because of herself. She took He Lucheng with her side and took good care of her sister as her aunt.

He Zizhen sent him to the best hospital in Shanghai to take good care of his leg injury, and entrusted Chen Yi, the mayor of Shanghai at the time, to call the best doctor for treatment. Soon, He Lucheng's leg injury healed.

He Zizhen taught him to hide his life experience well and not think about taking shortcuts based on his family background. This is also his mother's wish.

So, with my thoughts for my mother, I obey my aunt's words and keep in mind the instructions. studying in Shanghai is undoubtedly a huge challenge for him.

For He Lucheng, who had been staying in rural Jiangxi in his childhood, Shanghai is a big city. But He Lucheng felt that this was a new beginning. But the real situation is much worse than expected.

He has no friends here and is very lonely. Not only that, classmates in the class who didn't know his background often laughed at him with his childhood life and his rural accent. But He Lucheng didn't care. He only studied hard and always maintained the top score.

He always remembered the expectations of his aunt and uncle, and secretly made up his mind to make a career. Finally, he entered Shanghai Jiaotong University with his own strength.

Because my uncle served as an officer in the Shanghai army, he asked Uncle Li’s advice when applying for the major.

As an officer in the air force at that time in Shanghai, when He Minxue learned about He Lucheng's questions, facing this nephew, He Minxue once asked him what kind of person he wanted to be.

He Lucheng told him that His own wish is to be a person who is useful to the country and contribute to the country. Like my father, I will die on the battlefield.

Uncle He Minxue was very pleased to see that his younger generation had such ambitions, so he suggested that he major in electrical majors.

With a longing for university and the advice of his family, He Lucheng officially entered the university study life.

In college, he worked hard and the library became his frequent place. All this made his teacher see and couldn't help but praise him many times. In addition to studying, he also actively participated in activities, united his classmates, and truly achieved comprehensive development.

With his own efforts, he has become an outstanding cadre and has even better grades. This made my uncle He Minxue even happier and praised it repeatedly.

Contributing to the country

After he successfully graduated from university in 1956, he did not go to the Soviet Union, although he had already passed the postgraduate entrance examination at that time.

So in order to meet the needs of the country, was assigned to the Fifth Research Institute of the Ministry of National Defense, serving as a technician in the unit, and his main task was to study missile production.

So he took root in this major and worked diligently. Because he was working in the northwest at that time, the task was very confidential.

So, even though Li Min collected information from multiple sources and inquired widely, he still could not find his whereabouts, so this was a lifelong regret for Li Min later.

However, on the day of Chairman Mao’s death, he was invited to the scene as he wished and was arranged on the watch list. He said, "I miss my uncle so much and want to meet him again."

It was only in 1983 that his life experience was known. The civil affairs department wanted to add a certificate to Mao Zetan, so he tried every means to find his son He Lucheng. It was not until this time that his colleagues knew his true identity!

During this period, he and his colleagues have been sticking to the frontline of scientific research and participating in many scientific research construction and development. For example, my country's first artificial satellite solution has its research results.

He has always contributed to the country. According to his wife, when he was 70 years old, he was still constantly studying scientific research projects, carefully studying various technologies, and even insisting on going abroad for the development of the country.

Later, although he gradually became ill, he withdrew from scientific research, in order to benefit the people, he continued to carry out green engineering construction. All these made him stronger in his belief in everything for the people and the country.

In his youth, under the influence of his aunt and uncle, He Lucheng gradually developed the habit of hard work and thrift. The bonus he received was not spent indiscriminately, but donated to a school.

He also went to the old red area many times to mourn his relatives and remember history.

Finally, He Lucheng made a great decision, and he changed the word "He" to "Mao" to better miss his father and uncle.

When someone asked him if he still had any regrets, He Lucheng replied that he had no regrets. In this great revolutionary family, I became a missile expert, made outstanding contributions to the New China, and lived up to the expectations of my father and uncle.

has been hidden for decades and has been famous all over the world. He Lucheng believes that his father is his father, and he is himself, and he cannot benefit from his father's honor.

His life was low-key and simple, but he truly served the country and the people and continued his family spirit!

The contributions of Mao He and the great men of the entire Chinese will be something we must remember.

The public will live forever, and great men will always live in our hearts. As younger generations, we should keep our mission in mind, learn from great men, and make our own contributions to the country and the people!
