In June 1937, Jiang Qing came to Yan'an from Shanghai and entered the Marxist-Leninist Academy to study, and then entered the Yan'an Luxun Literature and Art Academy to teach. He married Chairman Mao a year later. Jiang Qing has literary and artistic expertise. She has acted in dramas during her time in Shanghai and also worked as a movie actor. At that time, the conditions in northern Shaanxi were very hard, and Chairman Mao’s work was very busy, so he could only use walking to eliminate fatigue. After marrying Jiang Qing, whenever Chairman Mao was tired, Jiang Qing would turn on the hand-cranked phonograph she brought from Shanghai to play the Peking Opera record for Chairman Mao.
After listening to a Peking Opera, Chairman Mao’s spirit was relaxed and he continued to devote himself to his intense work. Sometimes, Jiang Qing would accompany Chairman Mao for a walk and practice calligraphy. Jiang Qing’s handwriting is very good, and regular script is particularly outstanding. In northern Shaanxi and Xibaipo , Jiang Qing accompanied Chairman Mao through a difficult period. At the same time, Jiang Qing also showed her narrow selfish and pursuit of enjoyment. Because Chairman Mao was very busy with work and couldn't take much time to accompany her, Jiang Qing, who had nothing to do, asked the guard to play poker.
At that time, people's thoughts were very simple, and everyone was equal in the revolutionary team, so no one deliberately gave in to her. Jiang Qing was naturally very happy to win, but once he lost, he said that someone else had peeked at his card. For this reason, he actually asked Chairman Mao to transfer the guard who had won him. In addition, Li Na was taken care of by his aunt at that time, and the conditions at that time were difficult, so Chairman Mao was wearing patched clothes. Sometimes Li Ne's clothes are inevitably sewn and patched. Whenever this happens, Jiang Qing will pick on the faults of his aunt in needlework, sometimes scolding her in person, and sometimes making sarcasm.
After moving to Xibaipo, the living conditions were much better than those in northern Shaanxi. Jiang Qing installed ring in her room. After that, no matter whether it is big or small, whether she can or can do it or not, she always rang the ring and asked the guard to do it for her. For this reason, Chairman Mao has been criticized a lot. After the founding of New China , Jiang Qing has served as deputy director of the Literary and Art Department of the Central Propaganda Department and director of the Film Department of the Central Propaganda Department because of her specialties in literature and art.
After the start of the "Cultural Revolution", Jiang Qing served as the first deputy leader of the Central "Cultural Revolution" group. After that, her power grew stronger and stronger and she also entered the Political Bureau of the Central Committee. During this period, she and Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan, Wang Hongwen and others persecuted many veteran cadres, and were criticized by Chairman Mao many times for this, but she was still obsessed with it. After Chairman Mao’s death, the “Gang of Four” stepped up the conspiracy and was eventually crushed. Jiang Qing was taken away at his residence and entered Qincheng Prison, and later sentenced to life imprisonment.
In Qincheng Prison, Jiang Qing eats and lives well, and can also read newspapers, listen to radio and watch TV. Qin Cheng also tried his best to meet some of her requirements. For example, she hoped that her daughter Li Na would come to visit her, and Qin Cheng made arrangements soon. For example, she proposed to eat three fresh cucumbers every day, and Qin Cheng also agreed. It should be said that in Qincheng Prison, Jiang Qing's living conditions were much better than other prisoners.
In 1984, Jiang Qing was granted medical parole for due to physical reasons. She asked to live in Zhongnanhai or Diaoyutai . This request was too much. At that time, she was still a prisoner sentenced to life imprisonment. In this identity, she could not live in Zhongnanhai or Diaoyutai. Finally, the relevant departments arranged a two-story building with a separate courtyard in Jiuxianqiao, Beijing, with all the furniture and arranged a female nurse to take care of her. Jiang Qing then moved in.
On March 15, 1991, Jiang Qing was admitted to the public security hospital due to a high fever. After three days of treatment, the fever subsided, but another problem was found in the throat and needed surgical treatment. At that time, Jiang Qing was already relatively old and there were certain risks in the operation. Although the doctor explained to her many times, she still refused the operation. The doctor had to take conservative treatment, but the effect was not good. As his body became weaker and weaker, Jiang Qing missed Chairman Mao more and more, and he recited Chairman Mao's poems or read articles written by Chairman Mao every day.
In addition, she also began to write memoirs, intending to record every detail of herself and Chairman Mao.When the Qingming Festival was approaching, Jiang Qing made two requests. First, go to Chairman Mao’s memorial hall to worship; second, let Li Na bring herself a roll of white paper, and she wants to make a wreath. Considering Jiang Qing's identity at that time, the relevant departments finally rejected her request. Jiang Qing was very angry about this and tore the manuscript of the memoir he was writing to pieces in front of everyone.
On May 12, Li Na and her husband Wang Jingqing came to the hospital to visit Jiang Qing, but Jiang Qing refused to meet them. Two days later, Jiang Qing committed suicide in his bedroom. In a newspaper, people found her last words: "Chairman, I love you! Your students and soldiers are here to see you. Jiang Qing's word "Jiang Qing." In fact, before coming to Yan'an, Jiang Qing had a quarrel with Donna in Shanghai and had the idea of committing suicide. At that time, she wrote "An Open Letter", which was later published in the "Lianhua Pictorial" in Shanghai.
letter reads: "I am like a paralyzed, sitting on the ground blankly, looking at the branches outside the window trembling rapidly in the wind, the clouds on the blue sky, ah! I will never forget the pieces of white clouds passing by quickly, I want to commit suicide! Because I don't have the courage and ability to run away again, my body is extremely bad. At the same time, no one can ask me to tell the pain in my heart. This idea of suicide is written in my diary. But I have promised Mr. Cai Chusheng to film "The Wu of Wang Laowu", which is a sense of responsibility and a glimmer of hope to make me live, but I am trapped in a very depressed mania! I often hit my head, hit myself, and get mad for no reason..."
At that time, Jiang Qing was still called "Lan Ping". The reason why she did not go to extremes was because of "the glimmer of hope to make me live." And in 1991, Jiang Qing felt that the road had come to an end. Although her living conditions were still very good at that time, and many ordinary people might not be able to reach it, Jiang Qing's heart was full of loss and despair, because in the past, she lived in glory and fanaticism. Jiang Qing once said to Zhang Yufeng: "In the future, I will be prepared to behead and go to jail. I am not afraid of this. It may be difficult to keep it alive." The huge contrast between the past and the present made her unable to accept it. In addition, she was sick, and Jiang Qing's heart was almost collapsed. The two requests made before the Qingming Festival were rejected and became the last straw that overwhelmed the camel. In the end, Jiang Qing, who was heartbroken and desperate, committed suicide at the age of 77.
