In 1969, our party held the "Ninth National Congress" in Beijing. A total of 1,512 representatives attended the conference, representing more than 22 million party members across the country. At this conference, workers' representatives, peasant representatives, soldiers' representatives, and revolutionary cadres' representatives spoke one after another. The conference finally elected 170 Central Committee members and 109 alternate members of the Central Committee.
Today we are talking about is also one of the representatives of participating in the " Nine Major ". Her name is Li Suwen, who was elected as a worker and was also elected as a member of the Central Committee at the "Nine Major". After that, Li Suwen gradually appeared on the political stage and became a vice-state-level cadre in New China. However, in 1976, Li Suwen became a "problem figure", gradually leaving people's vision and returning to his original home. So, what story does Li Suwen have?
Li Suwen was born in a rural area in Shenyang in the early 1930s, and her ancestral home is Hebei. After the founding of New China, Li Suwen actively participated in various rural sports and performed very actively. In 1954, Li Suwen officially became a party member. In 1956, Li Suwen and her husband went to Shenyang and began to sell vegetables in the second side food store in Shenyang Nanta. They became a worker. She was born in poverty and could experience the difficulties of ordinary people at work. Therefore, she was very enthusiastic about everyone, so everyone was naturally willing to go to Li Suwen to buy vegetables. After more customers, Li Suwen also maintained her original service attitude without any impatientness. Over time, Li Suwen became a nearby celebrity and was elected as a model worker at all levels for a long time, and was received by leaders.
What really brought Li Suwen into his official career was a special period of ten years. During that period, Li Suwen, as a model worker, began to appear on the political stage and served as deputy director of the Shenyang Municipal Revolutionary Committee and other positions. In 1969, our party held the "Ninth National Congress" in Beijing. Li Suwen attended the meeting as a worker and was elected as a member of the Central Committee, including the subsequent "Ten Congresses". Li Suwen also participated and was also elected as a member of the Central Committee.
1975, at the critical moment of seizing power by the "Gang of Four", Li Suwen was elected as Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and became a vice-state-level cadre of New China. His main responsibility was to assist Li Xiannian in charge of financial and trade work. However, shortly after becoming a vice-state-level cadre, Li Suwen made a mistake. During the "Anti-Rightist" movement that year, Li Suwen mobilized personnel from the finance and trade department to actively participate in the wrong movement and became the "pioneer", which caused a very bad impact. In 1976, Hua Guofeng and others attacked thunderously and smashed the "Gang of Four". Li Suwen immediately became a "problem figure" and his situation became embarrassing.
One day after crushing the "Gang of Four", Hua Guofeng personally found Li Suwen and told Li Suwen that she was no longer suitable to stay in Beijing to work, nor was she suitable to continue as a national leader. In this way, Li Suwen faded out of politics and returned to her hometown in 1978. After returning to her original home, Li Suwen thought about it for a while at home. Soon after, she obeyed the organization's arrangements and entered the Shenyang Candy Factory and became an ordinary worker.
At that time, Li Suwen had not had a job for several years and was not as good as young people, so the candy he packed was always unqualified. Li Suwen was particularly anxious and asked young people humbly for advice many times. He also took the initiative to stay and work overtime to practice packing candy, and eventually became a qualified worker. In 1983, Li Suwen was appointed as the deputy director of the candy factory. After all, she had been in a big city for several years, so the factory asked her to be responsible for the operation. Li Suwen also made the candy factory prosperous, and the welfare and income of employees were significantly improved.
1989, Li Suwen retired. After retirement, she was not idle. She took out her own funds, borrowed part of the money, and opened a medical mattress store, and the business was very prosperous. In his later years, Li Suwen mainly lived in Shenyang and lived a dull life. He died of illness in 2022.
