After the 1980s, Chiang Ching-kuo had serious health problems. People from all walks of life in Taiwan have been paying close attention to the issue of Chiang Ching-kuo's "presidential" succession.

For the Chiang family, Chiang Kai-shek is the first generation, Chiang Ching-kuo is the second generation, and the third generation is the children of Chiang Ching-kuo.

Chiang Ching-kuo and his wife gave birth to three boys and one girl, all of whom have died.

When everyone lamented that the Chiang family had no heirs, it was also reported that Chiang Ching-kuo and his confidante Zhang Yaruo gave birth to twin brothers Jiang Xiaoyan and Jiang Xiaoci.

Obviously there is no successor to the Jiang family, but Jiang Xiaoyan wants to recognize his ancestor and return to the clan, but he goes through ups and downs. Why is this?

Direct descendants of the Chiang family

China is a country ruled by imperial power for thousands of years. Although the feudal dynasty has long been overthrown, the concept of imperial power is still deeply rooted in China.

Both Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo, their father and son, were educated in traditional Chinese political thought. Although Chiang Ching-kuo was slightly more enlightened than Chiang Kai-shek, deep in his thoughts, like Chiang Kai-shek, he did not get rid of the shackles of imperialist concepts.

Three years after Chiang Kai-shek's death, Chiang Ching-kuo became the "President" of Taiwan, from 1978 to 1988, a full 10 years.

After Chiang Ching-kuo suffered from physical problems, he intentionally passed on the position of "president" to future generations.

Jiang Jingguo and Jiang Fangliang gave birth to three sons and one daughter in total. The eldest son Jiang Xiaowen, the eldest daughter Jiang Xiaozhang, the second son Jiang Xiaowu, and the third son Jiang Xiaoyong. Several children were named after Chiang Kai-shek.

As the eldest son of Chiang Ching-kuo, Jiang Xiaowen naturally received a lot of attention from the outside world, so how did he die?

The eldest son Jiang Xiaowen

Jiang Xiaowen was born in a machine manufacturing factory in the Soviet Union on December 14, 1935. The child was named Yelizarov.

Chiang Xiaowen's name was given to him by Chiang Kai-shek after he returned to Taiwan. Because of his beautiful face that is unique to mixed-race people, he has been popular since he was a child.

Jiang Xiaowen grew up in the Soviet Union until he was three years old, and later returned to Chiang Kai-shek. As the third generation of the Chiang family, Chiang Kai-shek doted on him.

His ability to accept and respond was stronger than the average person since he was a child. He was a child with extraordinary talents, so both Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo had high hopes for him.

It’s just that Jiang Xiaowen is not only smart, but also very naughty. He uses his status as the "Crown Prince" to cause trouble in school.

In order for his son to be able to do something in the future, Jiang Jingguo was very strict in educating Jiang Xiaowen and often beat and scolded him at every turn.

Once, the school teacher did not know Jiang Xiaowen’s family background and asked about his parents’ occupations. He proudly said: “My father is a parent official in Ganzhou, and my grandfather is the current chairman of the National Committee. He is a great figure!”

Jiang Jingguo After learning about this incident, he became very angry. He was so angry that he reprimanded Jiang Xiaowen severely and beat him again.

At this time, he would complain to Chiang Kai-shek. Chiang Kai-shek felt sorry for him the most and always spoiled him, so that he developed his arrogant and willful character.

Born with a naughty character, coupled with Chiang Kai-shek's doting, even though Chiang Ching-kuo taught him with a stick, he still could not prevent Jiang Xiaowen from becoming a playboy.

In 1949, the Kuomintang retreated to Taiwan. Jiang Xiaowen fled to Taiwan with his grandfather and father and studied at Taipei Middle School.

During his school days, Jiang Xiaowen was extremely naughty and would often stay up late at night and stay up all night with a few friends who were also "third generation officials".

After Jiang Jingguo heard this, he was very angry and tightened his restraints to prevent Jiang Xiaowen from going out to fool around.

But after Jiang Jingguo fell asleep, he secretly got up, asked the guards to help him push the jeep outside the door, started the car and drove away, dragging his friends with him to stay up all night.

Because he was the grandson of Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang Xiaowen received too much flattery, compliments, connivance and flattery since he was a child. Coupled with the temptations of some courtiers, he eventually became a problem boy who was ignorant and debauched.

In Taiwan, Jiang Xiaowen was suspended from school because he often took the lead in making troubles. Jiang Jingguo had no choice but to send him to Burke Business School in California. He originally thought that in a new environment, he would be able to change his ways and study hard.

But who would have thought that not long after he arrived in the United States, he was sent to a U.S. court for driving violations. If his family had not intervened, he might have been imprisoned.

Being imprisoned this time did not make Jiang Xiaowen behave well. Instead, it made him want revenge.

In Washington, he actually lied about the theft, but was discovered by the US police, arrested again, and eventually deported by the US Immigration Service .

After returning to Taiwan, Jiang Xiaowen became more and more emboldened. In order to snatch a dancer, he trashed the dance hall and was beaten black and blue by the security guards; A master sergeant died, and finally he gave 200,000 Taiwan dollars to settle the matter. Although

is married to the granddaughter of revolutionary martyr Xu Xilin, his personality has not calmed down and he still drinks alcohol every day.

Jiang Xiaowen originally suffered from mild diabetes and had been relying on medicine to control his blood sugar. The doctor told him not to drink alcohol, but he did not follow the doctor's advice.

In 1971, his condition relapsed after he was drunk, and his blood sugar dropped sharply. His family thought it was a normal manifestation of drunkenness and paid no attention to him.

It was not until the next day that something was wrong with Jiang Xiaowen, but it was too late. His brain was severely damaged, his memory was declining, and his emotions were uncontrollable.

Although he looks like ordinary people, he either stumbles when communicating with others, or his words do not match his words.

Although Chiang Ching-kuo visited famous doctors, they had no effect.

After 1988, Jiang Xiaowen suffered from throat cancer . After suffering from the disease, he died in April 1989.

The second son Jiang Xiaowu

Jiang Xiaowu has been beautiful and cute since he was a child. Song Meiling especially dotes on him. Since his elder brother Jiang Xiaowen was sentenced to "political death" due to his deteriorating health, Jiang Jingguo placed all his hopes on him.

In order to prevent the tragedy of his eldest son from happening again, Jiang Jingguo set up a gym in his mansion very early and specially invited two burly coaches to train Jiang Xiaowu's physical fitness.

Although physically strong, his mind is not developed.

Once, Jiang Xiaowu went to the United States to invest and start a company with several million. However, due to poor management, he lost all the millions. Jiang Jingguo was very angry and ordered Jiang Xiaowu to face the wall and reflect on his mistakes.

Chiang Kai-shek did not dote on him, and Jiang Xiaowu's behavior was not so domineering.

Everything seems to be developing for the better, and everyone is very optimistic about this second son, thinking that he will definitely take over the position of "president".

However, in October 1984, Jiang Xiaowu became infamous because he was suspected of being behind the scenes of planning the murder of the Chinese-American Jiangnan under the instructions of others.

In order to calm the turmoil, Chiang Ching-kuo could only send him to work in Singapore .

Around 1991, Jiang Xiaowu was sent back to Taiwan to serve as the chairman of the "China Television Company". Before taking office, he could not sleep due to acute heart failure.

The third son Jiang Xiaoyong

The third son of the Jiang family, Jiang Xiaoyong, was born in 1948. Although he was the third child, he was 13 years younger than Jiang Xiaowen. He was only one year old when he went to Taiwan.

Both children were ineffective and died young. As the last boy in the family, Jiang Jingguo chose to let Jiang Xiaoyong go to military school.

One day an instructor called him there. After some enlightenment from him, Jiang Xiaoyong became more determined to become a soldier after returning. He told Jiang Jingguo that he would go to Air Force Infant School to study.

In kindergarten, he was the best in goose-stepping, but he couldn't sleep well because the pillow was too big, so he eventually switched to the Army Kindergarten School.

However, his career in the military academy was quickly ruined. When he was in the first grade, his heel was accidentally sprained during infantry attack training, and he underwent two incisions. He was forced to transfer to another school in the third grade.

After his hopes as a soldier failed, Chiang Ching-kuo intended to train him to develop in the direction of finance. Because of this, when the Chiang family was in decline, he could still rely on the Chiang family's signature to exert great influence in Taiwan's industrial and commercial circles.

Jiang Xiaoyong is indeed talented in business. It is said that his assets in Taiwan reach 30 billion, making him the richest among the brothers.

But after he tasted the sweetness, he began to rely on his power to take bribes, smuggle, and contract contracts in improper ways, which caused public outrage for a while.

Taiwan demanded a thorough investigation of his illegal income in Taiwan, so Jiang Xiaoyong had no choice but to move his family to Canada, and finally moved to the United States.

Chiang Ching-kuo's three children were unable to shoulder the burden of being heirs due to their own reasons.

With the death of Chiang Ching-kuo, everyone lamented that the Chiang family had no successors and that power was declining. In fact, this was not the case. Chiang Ching-kuo also had an illegitimate son.

Extramarital Affairs

The extramarital affair between Jiang Jingguo and Zhang Yaruo dates back to 1939, when he was assigned to Ganzhou to take over as the administrative inspectorate. When

served as commissioner, Chiang Ching-kuo always advocated people to endure hardships and take risks, launched the "Building a New Gannan" movement, and called on everyone to actively participate.

Zhang Yaruo regarded Chiang Ching-kuo as his idol. He not only responded actively to the call, but also took the lead in taking action.

Zhang's family is a scholarly family in Nanchang . She came to Ganzhou because she fled. Although Zhang Yaruo is a woman, she is versatile, bold and neat. Such a woman is naturally liked by many men.

Among them is Jiang Jingguo, who is married to Jiang Fangliang and has two children.

From then on, the figures of both parties often appeared in each other's eyes and minds. Unknowingly, feelings sprouted in the hearts of the two.

Jiang Jingguo opened a training class in Ganzhou. Zhang Yaruo rushed to participate after hearing about it. With the help of others, Zhang Yaruo became his "personal" secretary.

In addition to helping Jiang Jingguo deal with Ganzhou affairs, she also took care of Jiang Jingguo in his daily life with the gentleness and consideration unique to women.

Although this relationship has not been made public, Jiang Jingguo does not shy away from his relationship with Zhang Yaruo. The two are inseparable and inseparable.

Until the autumn of 1941, Zhang Yaruo was arranged to go to Guilin to wait for childbirth. In February of the following year, she gave birth to a pair of twin boys.

Jiang Jingguo was overjoyed after hearing this. He took large and small bags of nutritional supplements to Guilin to visit Zhang Yaruo, and also told Chiang Kai-shek about the matter.

Chiang Kai-shek named his two children Xiaoyan and Xiaoci, but they did not follow the Jiang family surname, but their mother's surname. This was one of the reasons why it was difficult for Jiang Xiaoyan to recognize his ancestor and return to his family.

Chapter Yaruo suddenly felt unwell half a year after giving birth, and her condition gradually worsened, and she passed away not long after.

The mysterious death of her daughter made her mother Zhou Jinhua sad and frightened. In order to protect her two children, she found Chiang Ching-kuo.

Jiang Jingguo did not take away the two children, but arranged for Zhou Jinhua to move to a remote Wan'an County .

Although they are both the children of Chiang Ching-kuo, the distance between them can be seen from their surnames. Jiang Xiaowen and Jiang Xiaowu were born to Jiang Fangliang, the wife of Chiang Ching-kuo’s famous matchmaker. Therefore, they have been shrouded in the aura of the Chiang family since childhood and are sought after by people from all walks of life. With respect, even if you break the law, you can easily get away with it. But Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci can't even enjoy father's love and mother's love.

The two brothers lived in a small two-story house since they were young, relying on the meager income earned by their uncle's business. When

was in school, other people's children were picked up and dropped off by their parents. Only brothers Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci were picked up by their grandmother. Compared with several other half-brothers,

is as good as heaven and earth.

Some people are born on rockets, and they can reach heights that many people who are born on bicycles will find it difficult to catch up with in their lifetimes.

The two brothers also asked their grandmother where their father and mother were. At that time, their grandmother lied to them and said: "Your father is working as a county magistrate in the mainland and he did not have time to escape. Your mother stayed with your father in the mainland, so she cannot come back."

Since many fleeing families at that time were torn apart, with wives and children scattered, the brothers had no doubts.

Before the liberation of Nanchang, Chiang Ching-kuo arranged for Zhou Jinhua to take his two children to settle in Hsinchu, Taiwan. This period of life became their most difficult experience.

Since then, they have lost their source of income due to frequent quarrels between their uncle and the personnel assigned by Chiang Ching-kuo to take care of their lives.

Coupled with the setback in their uncle's business, starting in 1956, the brothers could only live a life of poverty.

The only electrical appliances in the house are a few electric lamps hanging in the room without lampshades. Whenever they go to other people's houses and see fans, they are like curious babies.

In the summer, the room would be extremely hot and stuffy. Grandma took the two brothers to sleep in a small room. In order to cool down, they would go to the fish vendor every day to ask for a few ice bricks to take home.

Use a knife to cut the ice cube into small pieces, put them in the washbasin, and wet the bamboo bed over and over again.

In Taiwan, I can’t find anyone who uses this method to get rid of summer heat.

Perhaps it is this kind of poverty that has developed the hard-working spirit of the two brothers. When

moved to Taiwan, the brothers were only 7 years old. The names registered to them by their grandmother and uncle were also Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci.

In order to conceal the fact that the brothers were twins, Zhang Xiaoyan's birth date was advanced when registering the household registration.

It wasn't until high school that the brothers learned about their life experiences.

Zhou Jinhua was in poor health at the time. In order to allow her two children to return to the Jiang family, she called the children to the bedside before her death: "Actually, your father is Chiang Ching-kuo, and this is your mother." Grandma took out a photo, Pointing at a woman above.

For Zhang Xiaoyan, the word "Chiang Ching-kuo" is not unfamiliar, because their school has the Youth Anti-Communist National Salvation Corps, and Chiang Ching-kuo is the director of the regiment.

The brothers were in disbelief. They asked three times in a row, but Zhou Jinhua's answer was always the same.

As they get older, both brothers have the desire to meet their father and recognize their ancestors.

But such a wish is so difficult.

Even though Chiang Kai-shek knew that his two grandsons were biological flesh and blood, he still insisted that the child take his mother's surname, which is enough to show that he did not want to admit the child's identity.

After entering college, the brothers had frequent contact with Wang Sheng. They repeatedly asked Wang Sheng to express their desire to meet Chiang Ching-kuo, but none of them came true.

When they were in their third year of college, Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci once discussed how to recognize their ancestors and return to their clan, because this was also their mother's wish.

But after the death of her grandmother, the Zhang family's life was in trouble. They had no evidence to prove that they were children of the Jiang family.

Even if there was evidence, how could they enter the tightly guarded Jiang family residence?

In the end, the brothers decided to take it one step at a time.

In fact, in Taiwan, a discerning person can tell at a glance that Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci are the children of Chiang Ching-kuo, because when they were in elementary school, some people called them "children of the Chairman's family". This shows that the two of them still look like Chiang Ching-kuo. of.

In the 1970s, Taiwanese media reported the story of Zhang Xiaoyan, Zhang Xiaoci and the Chiang family. From then on, the fact that the two brothers were the sons of Chiang Ching-kuo became a well-known secret in Taiwan.

The reason why it is said to be a secret is because the Jiang family has always refused to admit this fact. Perhaps they are worried that the illegitimate child will discredit them, or perhaps they do not want to affect their political career.

can actually prove whether there is a blood relationship. There is the simplest way: do a paternity test !

But we need to get Chiang Ching-kuo's DNA, which is tantamount to asking the Chiang family to admit the fact of having an illegitimate child, which is obviously impossible.

Although they did not admit it, Jiang Xiaowu would still frequently contact and meet with Zhang Xiaoyan and the others, because Zhang Xiaoyan was the deputy minister of foreign affairs, equivalent to Jiang Xiaowu's superior.

An illegitimate son who was not recognized by others turned out to be the chief of his own son who grew up with a golden key in his mouth. I wonder if it was God’s will.

At 3 pm on January 13, 1988, Chiang Ching-kuo died of heart failure due to massive vomiting of blood.

After his death, Jiang Xiaowu and Jiang Xiaoyong once again found Zhang Xiaoyan and Zhang Xiaoci and asked them if there was anything they needed to do.

What the brothers wanted to do most was to see Jiang Jingguo, and Jiang Xiaowu agreed to this request.

At 11 o'clock in the evening on the fourth day after Chiang Ching-kuo's death, they finally got their wish to see their biological father. At that moment, the brothers burst into tears.

Family love is a very wonderful thing. Although the brothers met their father for the first time, the blood relationship in their bones still made it difficult for them to control their feelings.

The perfect ending

On March 2, 2005, Jiang Xiaoyong finally completed the change of information on his ID card and officially changed his name to "Jiang Xiaoyan". After the

information was changed, he came to Xikou for the third time, wanting to comfort the spirits of his ancestors in heaven.

At 9:40 am, the ancestor worship ceremony began. Under the guidance of the master of ceremonies, Jiang Xiaoyan burned incense, lit candles, toasted and saluted.

He prayed silently in his heart: Ancestors, today I can finally report to you as Jiang Xiaoyan.

Letting history return to its true form and restoring the facts has been the hope of the two brothers for decades. Now they can finally recognize their ancestors and achieve a perfect ending.
