The Southern Song Dynasty was a rather weak dynasty in the feudal dynasty of ancient China, but this dynasty also had some exciting deeds. The famous anti-gold hero Yue Fei is one of the representatives. In fact, in addition to Yue Fei, in the early Southern Song Dynasty, there was another anti-gold hero whose reputation was not under Yue Fei. This person was the famous general Wu Lin.
Wu Lin (1102-June 6, 1167), whose name is Tang Qing, was born in Longgan County of Deshun Army (now Jingning, Gansu). The famous general in the Southern Song Dynasty, Wu Jie, the younger brother of Sichuan Xuanfu envoy. In his early years, Wu Lin followed his elder brother Wu Jie to resist Xixia, and led the war against Jin in the second year of Jianyan (1128). Both of them were famous for their bravery. He rose up with illness in his later years to fight the invading Golden Army. From the official to Feng Guojun Jiedushi, he was appointed king of Xin'an County.
Wu Lin's status and achievements in the Southern Song Dynasty are no less than that of Yue Fei, because he represents the power of a family. He and his elder brother Wu Jie were once the most important barrier in Sichuan and Sichuan during the Southern Song Dynasty. They resisted the invasion of the Jinmen many times, and even the famous Jurchen general Wanyan Sa Liyai was terrified of them. Moreover, Wu Lin invented many advanced tactics, which tightly restrained the Jin Ren's footsteps so that he could not advance half a step.
It is precisely because of these remarkable achievements that he has a high status in the court. Brothers of the Wu family are also protectors in the hearts of ordinary people.
In the army, the Wu family power led by Wu Lin has also been deeply rooted. The huge power of the Wu family attracted the attention of the court. The court was afraid that going on like this would be a huge threat to its imperial power, so taking advantage of the opportunity of Wu Jie's death, part of the Wu family was transferred from Sichuan and Shu, leaving only Wu Lin is alone.
Later Wu Lin also passed away, and the court took the opportunity to send someone to replace him in the army. But these soldiers were trained by the Wu family, so they only obey the Wu family's control.
The imperial court had no choice but to recall the Wu family back to Sichuan and Shu to let them take charge of the three armies. Wu Lin has a grandson named Wu Xi, who, relying on his ancestors’ fame, was even ill-intentioned and wanted to take the opportunity to become king and overthrow the Southern Song Dynasty. But in the end it also ended in failure. After this incident, the court hated the Wu family. The fame of the famous anti-gold hero Wu Lin was destroyed by his grandson Wu Xi.
People often say that people have left their names, but geese have left. Both Wu Lin and Yue Fei made indelible contributions to the Anti-Golden War in the Southern Song Dynasty. They both became the patron saints in the eyes of the people at different times, but now people remember only Yue Fei, not Wu Lin. Although Yue Fei was killed, his name stayed in history, and Wu Lin died of illness, but his fame was ruined by his grandson. It can be said that Wu Lin's ending is really worse than Yue Fei.
