Hubei is an important province in the Yangtze River basin, rich in cultural relics resources and distinctive features. The Hubei section of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park is one of the seven key construction areas of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park. In December 2021, in accordance with the requirements of the "Reply of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage on Carrying out a Survey of Cultural Relics Resources in the Yangtze River Basin" and the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Cultural Relics in Hubei Province", the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism organized the province to carry out a survey of cultural relics resources in the Yangtze River Basin.
Under the unified leadership of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and with the active cooperation of cultural relics departments in various places, participating units across the province overcame the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic and severe cold and hot weather. They traveled through mountains and rivers, sacrificed weekends and weekends, worked overtime, strengthened business training, and strengthened progress supervision and quality control. The investigation work was carried out according to the scheduled time points. It was fully completed as scheduled and achieved remarkable results: 36,473 immovable cultural relics announced by the third national cultural relics census in Hubei Province were reviewed; 168 national key cultural relics protection units and 920 Hubei provincial cultural relics protection units were investigated. , including field surveys, aerial photography, data review, etc.; 522 new immovable cultural relics were discovered; a survey was conducted on the province’s cultural relics protection management institutions and practitioners, protection research, etc.; a survey was conducted on the province’s cultural relics protection projects, archaeological excavation projects, etc. from January 1, 2011 to September 30, 2021 ; Launched the construction of the basic immovable cultural relics database (Phase I) for the Yangtze River Cultural Relics Resources Survey in Hubei Province; completed 11 special surveys and subject studies on human origins, prehistoric civilizations in the Yangtze River Basin, Chu culture, cultural relics of the Three Kingdoms, and ancient mining and metallurgical relics, and passed individual acceptances. On the basis of statistical analysis of survey data and research on relevant literature, the "Hubei Province Yangtze River Cultural Relics Resources Survey Work Report", "Hubei Province Yangtze River Cultural Relics Resources Survey Immovable Cultural Relics List", "Hubei Province Yangtze River Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Plan" and other result materials were compiled, and feasibility measures and suggestions for strengthening the protection and utilization of Yangtze River cultural relics in the future were compiled.
Yangtze River cultural relics, as an important material carrier carrying the cultural value of the Yangtze River, are the main witness to the authenticity and diversity of the long-standing Yangtze River culture.
