It is precisely because Wang Dongxing can always consider being ahead of others and doing his work in detail in advance. Therefore, when the central government evacuated Yan'an, the Chairman asked him to be responsible for destroying important documents and other work.
After the founding of New China , although Wang Dongxing's work has changed repeatedly, the core content has not changed, and he still undertakes the security of Chairman Mao and the central leaders.
1949, when Chairman Mao visited the Soviet Union, Wang Dongxing once again took on the vigilance and protection work along the way, and formulated an effective confidentiality measure with Li Kenong, Luo Ruiqing and others, thus ensuring that Chairman Mao’s plan to visit the Soviet Union was smooth.
Chairman Mao was very satisfied with Wang Dongxing's defense work, so he almost brought Wang Dongxing with him whenever he traveled, and asked him to be responsible for the protection tasks. For example, Chairman Mao inspected Yellow River in 1963, Chairman Mao returned to Jinggangshan in 1965, and Chairman Mao visited Yangtze River in 1966, etc., all of which were accompanied by Wang Dongxing.
In fact, Wang Dongxing is not only a capable inner guard general around Chairman Mao, but also acts as Chairman Mao’s right-hand assistant.
For example, during Gong Deng's exercise in Jiangxi, Chairman Mao asked him to be an intermediate contact person and instructed Wang Dongxing to secretly protect Gong Deng and take care of Gong Deng's personal and family life.

Chairman Mao handed over many confidential tasks to Wang Dongxing, which is enough to show the Chairman's great trust in him. It is precisely because of this trust that Wang Dongxing was elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and took charge of the 8341 unit, becoming the most trustworthy person around Chairman Mao.
After Chairman Mao’s death, Wang Dongxing followed the Chairman’s last wish and fully supported the idea of “two whatevers” proposed by Hua Guofeng.
It is precisely because he always supports Comrade Hua Guofeng and supports "two whatevers", so at the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1978, when some comrades had differences with him, Wang Dongxing decided to voluntarily resign from all positions.
After Wang Dongxing resigned voluntarily, he completely withdrew from the core power leadership and became an ordinary person who was recuperating at home. At this time, a Western media publisher found Wang Dongxing and asked him to write memoirs and other books, and offered surprising sky-high rewards.
Faced with the generous rewards of Western media, Wang Dongxing was unmoved and refused sternly: "Written means offending both living people and dead people. I will have no shame to see the Chairman again in the future."

Why did Wang Dongxing say that? First, he hoped that such a set of books could be written in a more rigorous manner, and it would be best handed over to a publisher led by the central secretariat to publish. Secondly, he knew very well that the reason why Western media asked him to write books at a sky-high price is probably inevitable that he would take his manuscript back and tamper with it.
So, based on these two considerations, Wang Dongxing refused the Western media's request for writing a book without thinking.
