Whampoa Military Academy As the cradle of modern Chinese generals, many outstanding awards and coaches have been cultivated. One of them has won the favor of Chiang Kai-shek with his ability to be both civil and military.
At that time, Chiang Kai-shek invited him to be his secretary, but the general finally chose to stand on the side of the people and came to our army to serve as Chairman Mao’s senior staff officer. Those who were able to hold this position were later marshal-general figures, and he was founding lieutenant general Guo Huaruo.
Why was Guo Huaruo able to gain the recognition of Chairman Mao and Chiang Kai-shek at the same time? What extraordinary abilities does he have?

Military genius of the Red Army
In December 1929, Guo Huaruo was promoted to the Chief of Staff of the Red Army . Although this position is not very high, it is very testable and requires someone who is keen thinking and dares to tell the truth. As soon as Guo Huaruo took office, Chairman Mao asked him a difficult problem. At the upcoming Nine National Congresses, he analyzed the problems in the military at that time and provided appropriate solutions.
The issue seems simple. Guo Huaruo first needs to analyze the problems, and then when speaking, he needs to consider whether the content is suitable for publication. If it is said too directly, it may be detrimental to the unity of the team. But Guo Huaruo didn't think too much at all. He wrote a report of tens of thousands of words for several nights, which directly pointed out the problems in the army.
At that time, many people could not help but worry that Guo Huaruo's words would anger the Chairman. Unexpectedly, Chairman Mao was very happy after reading it, and even praised Guo Huaruo's outspokenness. While pointing out the problems, Guo Huaruo also gave many valuable opinions, providing a good idea for the construction of the troops.

Chairman Mao recognized Guo Huaruo's ability very much. He believed that Guo Huaruo had become a chief of staff and should serve as the commander of the division. After that, Chairman Mao began to gradually implement Guo Huaruo's plan, and Guo Huaruo also emerged from this and became a trusted senior adviser to Chairman Mao.
After that, Guo Huaruo began to have more contact with Chairman Mao. He was deeply attracted by Chairman Mao's charm, and in his opinion, Chairman Mao's personality charm and strategic vision are top-notch. Since then, Guo Huaruo began to learn from Chairman Mao humbly and always regarded Chairman Mao as his idol.
Chairman Mao faced a talented and so humble general, as if he had found a soulmate. From then on, whenever Chairman Mao thought of a new theory, he would share it with Guo Huaruo. Guo Huaruo also became the first person to come into contact with Chairman Mao’s military theory. He simplified many of Chairman Mao’s profound thoughts and then promoted them in the army, so that many soldiers could understand the Chairman’s thoughts.

In addition, Guo Huaruo also combined Chairman Mao’s military theory with " Sun Tzu's Art of War " to study it, and used the theories in "Sun Tzu's Art of War" to confirm Chairman Mao's thoughts. For this reason, Guo Huaruo also wrote a book called "A Preliminary Exploration of the Art of War" in 1939, which explained his research on two ideas.
After learning about it, Chairman Mao also read Guo Huaruo's articles specifically. After reading it, he agreed with his views. He originally just planned to ask Guo Huaruo to give him some suggestions. Unexpectedly, he directly sublimated his theoretical ideas, and at the same time allowed theories that are difficult to understand by ordinary people to enter the hearts of every soldier. Therefore, Chairman Mao once again admired Guo Huaruo.
However, Guo Huaruo's talent is not only that, during the Agrarian Revolution War, he realized with great vision that radio communication will play a huge role in subsequent wars. Facts have proved that one of the important reasons for the victory of the War of Liberation was the victory of the Intelligence War. At that time, Guo Huaruo had already formulated a confidentiality plan to lay the foundation for the victory of the Intelligence War.

, and at that time, Guo Huaruo also had multiple positions. In addition to serving as a staff officer, he also worked as a teacher. In 1932, Guo Huaruo taught his revolutionary concepts at the Red Army School. The following year, Guo Huaruo came to the Red Army University to serve as the chief instructor. His students all liked his teaching methods, and Guo Huaruo also showed his professional teaching ability.
is able to hold multiple positions, which shows Guo Huaruo’s powerful ability, but this is very common in his eyes. Guo Huaruo believes that a qualified revolutionary should be able to contribute his abilities in multiple fields. We are talented and able to complete every job so humble and conscientiously. This spirit deserves our respect.
Perhaps it was because God was jealous of talent. In 1937, Guo Huaruo suddenly fell to the ground unconscious while giving a lecture. At that time, others immediately gave Guo Huaruo emergency treatment and sent him to the infirmary for treatment as soon as possible. After the doctor's examination, it was confirmed that Guo Huaruo was not seriously injured, but his high-intensity work made him sick due to overwork.

Although there is no life danger for the time being, the doctor also reminded Guo Huaruo that his body has reached its limit. If he does not take a timely rest, he may be life danger. Guo Huaruo was very sad after hearing this. In desperation, he could only write to Chairman Mao, expressing his hope to give up his work and go to Yan'an for recuperation.
After learning about it, Chairman Mao immediately agreed to Guo Huaruo return to Yan'an to cultivate. After all, this is an excellent talent of our party, and maintaining health is more important than anything else. At the same time, Chairman Mao also praised Guo Huaruo's revolutionary spirit, asking him to temporarily put down his work and focus on restoring his health.
After Guo Huaruo learned Chairman Mao’s instructions, he burst into tears in an instant. He was sad because he was not healthy and delayed the revolutionary cause. It was also moved by Chairman Mao’s trust and understanding. The relationship between the two cannot be expressed in words. Chairman Mao’s emphasis on Guo Huaruo is self-evident.
I have to say that Guo Huaruo is definitely a brilliant star of our party. Chiang Kai-shek also hoped to attract him. So how did Guo Huaruo grow into such an excellent talent?

Outstanding student of Whampoa Military Academy
Chairman Mao once commented on Guo Huaruo like this: "There were grandsons in ancient times, and Guo Zi now." It can be compared with the legendary and famous generals of ancient times. Guo Huaruo's position in Chairman Mao's heart is very special. Such a famous general was born in a dark and corrupt old China like many outstanding generals at that time, and the people in the society lived in such an environment. Guo Huaruo grew up in such an environment.
Guo Huaruo was born in a peasant family and his family was in very poor conditions. He knew that studying could change his destiny, so he always yearned for learning. However, because his family was poor, Guo Huaruo could only work for the landlord's family when he was a child, and the income he earned could only support his life.
In order to enter a higher platform, Guo Huaruo joined KMT when he was 20 years old and began to join the revolution. It was during the first time that the Kuomintang and the Communist Party cooperated with . The Kuomintang's philosophy was in line with Guo Huaruo's pursuit, so he hoped to join the army to drive away the feudal warlord landlords of the old forces.
Because of Guo Huaruo's talent and intelligence, he soon got the opportunity to study after joining the army. Through his own efforts, Guo Huaruo successfully entered the fourth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy a year later and embarked on the path of study that he had always dreamed of. Guo Huaruo came into contact with Marxist thought at school, and he began to realize that only the Communist Party could truly save China.

Compared with the Kuomintang, the Communist Party pays more attention to the people at the bottom. Guo Huaruo, who was also from a poor family, had a good impression of the Communist Party and joined the Communist Party of China in 1925 as permitted by the policy. Guo Huaruo, with his dual identity, continued to study hard in school and finally got the first place in the total score.
Such a talent naturally won the favor of Chiang Kai-shek. The principal was very optimistic about this outstanding student and hoped that he could come to his side as his personal secretary. This is a position that many people are undesirable. If you work with Chiang Kai-shek, your future career will be smooth, but Guo Huaruo still rejected Chiang Kai-shek's invitation.
In his opinion, soldiers should go to battle to kill the enemy, rather than sitting in the office. Chiang Kai-shek, who loves talent, once again threw out his olive branch, but was rejected by Guo Huaruo for the same reason. The vigorous National Revolution broke out in 1927. Guo Hua joined the army as he wished and participated in the Northern Expedition , and finally defeated the old forces' Beiyang warlords .
But when Guo Huaruo thought that the world was about to be peaceful, Chiang Kai-shek launched the April 12 coup that shocked China and the world, and began to persecute progressive people of our party. Chiang Kai-shek's move disappointed Guo Huaruo very much. He began to realize that the Kuomintang was no longer the ideal he pursued, so he withdrew from the Kuomintang in 1927 and became a staunch Communist soldier.

In November of the same year, as one of the few top students in Huangpu in the party, Guo Huaruo got the opportunity to go to the Soviet artillery school to study, where he learned more advanced military theories. During this period, Guo Huaruo also took time to learn Russian, but he always kept in mind the revolution in China. After learning that Chairman Mao had opened a base in Jinggangshan , he immediately proposed to drop out of school.
After receiving Guo Huaruo's application, the principal was very reluctant to leave the school because with Guo Huaruo's ability, he would definitely have a bright future in the future when he continued to study in the school. For this reason, the principal also locked up Guo Huaruo and asked him to think about his choice alone.
However, this did not stop Guo Huaruo. He always said firmly that he was going back to China. In desperation, the principal could only agree to Guo Huaruo's application. In 1929, Guo Huaruo successfully returned to China. After returning to China, he immediately came to Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base . Here he met the great man who influenced his life.
As a top student in Huangpu, Guo Huaruo once studied in the Soviet Union. After joining the Red Army, he quickly showed extraordinary abilities. Guo Huaruo commanded his troops to make contributions on the battlefield many times, and his abilities were also seen by Chairman Mao and President Zhu, so Guo Huaruo was quickly appointed as the chief of staff of the troops.

At that time, Chairman Mao and President Zhu both admired this young man very much. Chairman Mao believed that Guo Huaruo's ability could be further improved in his position. It happened that the Chief of Staff next to Chairman Mao was empty, so Chairman Mao invited Guo Huaruo to serve as his Chief of Staff. At that time, Chairman Mao and General Zhu jointly led the Red Fourth Army , which was equivalent to the secretary of Mao and Zhu.
Since then, Guo Huaruo began to participate in the army's strategic decisions. In many battlefield deployments, Chairman Mao and President Zhu would ask Guo Huaruo for his opinions. At this time, Guo Huaruo was less than 30 years old, and he was a hero and a young man. The facts proved that Chairman Mao did not misjudgment. Guo Huaruo's subsequent performance made Chairman Mao very satisfied.
Guo Huaruo has been working hard in his position until he became ill and gradually retreated to the second line. But soon Anti-Japanese War broke out. Seeing that the revolutionary situation was severe, Guo Huaruo decided to continue to contribute to the country. What wonderful performance did Guo Huaruo perform after his comeback?

Chairman Mao’s close comrade-in-arms
Chairman Mao learned of Guo Huaruo’s idea of returning, and was worried that Guo Huaruo’s body could not withstand the high-intensity work pressure, so he arranged for him to go to the rear to do some guidance work. Although Guo Huaruo repeatedly expressed his hope to go to the front line to command the battle, Chairman Mao still did not agree.
In the end, Guo Huaruo chose to obey the arrangement and came to the rear to participate in logistics work, but he did not slackew. As the war situation became more and more complex, the Japanese invaders arrogantly shouted that they would destroy China in three months. After hearing this, Guo Huaruo decided to write an article to boost morale, so he published several articles in the rear analyzing that the Japanese invaders would be defeated. After the article
was published, it caused a great response on the front line. Even Chairman Mao praised it after reading it. He began to realize that Guo Huaruo could make more contributions to the revolution. For this purpose, Chairman Mao specially opened a "staff training class" to allow Guo Huaruo, who has rich staff experience, to serve as the main lecturer.

Guo Huaruo used his own experience and knowledge to complete the lecturer task excellently and cultivated a large number of outstanding advisers for our army. Then Guo Huaruo came to Chairman Mao and continued to work, recorded the instructions sent by Chairman Mao one by one, and then handed them over to the telegrapher to send them.
In this process, Guo Huaruo felt that Chairman Mao’s instructions were very excellent theoretical ideas, so he planned to collect all the telegram contents and arrange them in a unified manner, and finally formed a complete material for Chairman Mao’s thoughts. Guo Huaruo's idea was recognized by Chairman Mao, and these important materials can become important documents circulated within the party in the future.
So Guo Huaruo came to the telegram room to communicate with the person in charge, but the person in charge said that these were confidential documents and were all destroyed after they were sent. Guo Huaruo can only express his understanding of this. After all, confidentiality work is equally important to the victory of the war, but future documents must be kept properly. After
, Chairman Mao’s instructions were sorted into a complete document by Guo Huaruo. Until today, we can still read Chairman Mao’s instructions. If it weren't for Guo Huaruo's struggle, perhaps we would not be able to learn these important theoretical ideas now, and Guo Huaruo made great contributions in this process.

After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Guo Huaruo's health also recovered, so he left Yan'an and went to the front line to command the battle. At this time, the Liberation War was about to begin. Chairman Mao sent Guo Huaruo to the Shandong battlefield. As soon as he arrived at the front line, Guo Huaruo immediately fought a beautiful battle and wiped out an enemy column in Battle of Southern Shandong.
In addition to his excellent command ability, Guo Huaruo's political work is also excellent. He launched the "Meritorious Affairs Movement" among the people, encouraging a large number of militias to join the revolutionary ranks, greatly strengthening the strength of our army. Not only that, Guo Huaruo also persuaded many Kuomintang soldiers to join our party.
When the Huaihai Battle , Guo Huaruo found that most of the captives of the Kuomintang were new recruits, so he speculated that the Kuomintang's current military strength was already seriously insufficient. After inquiry, Guo Huaruo learned that most of these new recruits were arrested and had no idea of working for the Kuomintang.
After learning about this situation, Guo Huaruo began to carry out ideological work on the prisoners of war in the national army, and promoted a large number of prisoners of war in the national army to join our army, causing the strength of the Kuomintang and the Communist armies to rise and fall. At the beginning, many people questioned Guo Huaruo's decision, believing that these prisoners of war were likely to turn against each other on the battlefield, but Guo Huaruo ignored it.

In his opinion, all of these recruits were forced to join the Kuomintang, and they did not have much favoritism for the Kuomintang army, and even had deep hatred. Now that they have given the right to choose freely, how can they turn against their former enemies? Facts proved that Guo Huaruo's choice was correct. Many prisoners of war took the initiative to join the revolution after they came into contact with the ideas of our party.
They are not only firm in their will, but also have strong combat effectiveness, and have become an important force for our army to liberate the whole country. Guo Huaruo, who is both literary and military, was recognized by Chairman Mao. This general who has been watching the growth has gone from Chairman Mao's secretary to the general who commands the troops to fight. Chairman Mao was very pleased.
Relying on his outstanding performance on the road of revolution, Guo Huaruo won the rank of Lieutenant General at the 1955 rank of Lieutenant General . Since then, Guo Huaruo has been dedicating his value in various positions. In his spare time, he has also compiled many articles on Chairman Mao's theoretical thoughts, and Chairman Mao has always exchanged his experiences with Guo Huaruo and provided him with new materials.

Chairman Mao was Guo Huaruo's noble man and also a spiritual leader of his teacher and friend. Therefore, after Chairman Mao passed away in 1976, Guo Huaruo was deeply saddened. After Guo Huaruo retired, he insisted on studying Chairman Mao's military theory and constantly enriching and improving the ideas of great men. Until November 26, 1995, Guo Huaruo ended his glorious life at the age of 91.
The thousand-mile horse also needs the discovery of Bole. Chairman Mao discovered that Guo Huaruo, the "thousand-mile horse", was the Bole who discovered Guo Huaruo, the "thousand-mile horse". The support of Chairman Mao is inseparable from Chairman Mao's support. Therefore, Guo Huaruo has been insisting on promoting Chairman Mao’s theoretical ideas, which can be regarded as repaying Chairman Mao’s kindness for his kindness.
There are not many people who can be favored by Chiang Kai-shek and Chairman Mao at the same time. This is mainly due to Guo Huaruo's own strong ability, and gold will always shine. When the domestic situation changed rapidly, Guo Huaruo firmly chose to stand on the side of the people, laying a solid foundation for him to exert his talents later, and our party also gained a tiger general.
