While climbing the mountain, I found an ancient artillery tower called Guangdong's "Southern King" in the Republic of China Chen Jitang , which was mainly based on Guangdong (1929-1936). Built on the edge of the mountain, the entire ancient artillery building was poured with cement steel bars. After storms, it still stands upright on the cliffs of the mountain. The main body is rectangular, about 2 meters high, and the top is covered with grass.

Walking into the artillery tower, it is very spacious, and can accommodate more than a dozen or twenty people. During the Republic of China, warlords were separatist. At that time, Guangdong warlord Chen Jitang was heavily guarding the Shimen area and built a fortress on several hills in the village to defend the Shijing Arsenal, gunpowder factory and defend against the enemy invading in the northwest. This "ancient artillery tower" on the top of Yangmeigang Mountain is one of the city defense strongholds left back then.

Inside this artillery tower, there is a big hole on the left and right directions facing the mountain. Observing its shape, it may belong to the location of the heavy machine gun. Later, it may have damaged some, which is relatively large.

Originally, there was a curved trench outside the artillery tower, which formed a tight blockade line with the artillery tower. Due to the long history, the trench was filled with soil.
Chen Jitang is from Fangcheng, Guangdong, and is a representative of the Guangdong clan. He once served as Guangdong Province and controlled Guangdong's military and political power. He was then called the "King of the South". During his tenure as Guangdong (1929-1936), he competed with the Nanjing central government in politics, carried out planned economic construction, established modern industries, and carried out municipal construction. During this period, Guangzhou achieved outstanding achievements in industry, commerce and municipal construction, laying a certain foundation for Guangzhou's modernization process. Because of the failure to launch the " Guangdong and Guangxi Incident" anti-Chiang, he was forced to step down in 1936 and died in Taiwan in 1954.
