Many places in China banned the "Central Church of the People" in accordance with the law
On October 8, 2022, the Harbin Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau issued the "Announcement on the Banning of Illegal Social Organizations of the "Marco Tower Church" and "Central Church of the People"". The announcement stated that after investigation, the "Marcolo Church" and "Central Church of Wanmin" carried out activities in the name of a social group without registration, which was an illegal social organization. In accordance with Article 32 of the "Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Social Groups" and Article 2 and Article 9 of the "Interim Measures for the Banning of Illegal Civil Organizations of ", this agency decided to ban the "Marco Tower Church" and "Central Church of Wanmin".
Since 2019, Benxi City, Jinzhou City, , Dalian City, Yanbian Prefecture, Jilin City, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province and other places have successively taken measures to ban South Korea's "Central Church of the People" in China in accordance with the law.
"Wanmin Central Church" leader Lee Jae-ro was sentenced to 16 years in prison by the South Korean court for sexual assault
On November 22, 2018, Lee Jae-ro (Little 재록, Lee Jae-rock), the leader of the "Wanmin Central Church" in South Korea, was charged with sexually assaulting 8 female believers. He was convicted by the Seoul Central District Court and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Li Zailu appealed when he refused to accept the verdict.
On May 17, 2019, because another female victim accused him of rape after the trial, the appeal court, on the basis of upholding the original sentence, sentenced him to another one year in prison, and sentenced him to a total of 16 years in prison.

On June 28, 2020, the Seoul Central District Court of South Korea ruled that Lee Jae-rok and the church should pay 1.28 billion won of compensation to the victims for sexually assaulting female believers.

The court held that Li Zai Lu often commits sexual violence and sexual indecent to the victims and bears the responsibility for compensation for losses, and the Central Church of Wanmin should also bear the responsibility.
The court also ruled that the Central Church of Wanmin and the relevant pastors and believers should jointly pay 10 million to 20 million won to the victims. After Li Zailu was transferred to the court for suspected rape, these people began to slander the victim and spread rumors: "I (the victim) lived a bad life and even falsely accused the president (Li Zailu)." At the same time, the victim's personal information was also disclosed.

He "lighted the fire of the Holy Spirit" and could heal "all diseases."
On April 16, 1999, the Korean Federation of Christians identified it as a "heretic". The Korean Christian Federation adopted the report of five researchers from the "Heavenly Discern Countermeasures Committee" on Lee Jae-lu's "Heavenly of Extreme Mysticism". The research report points out Li Zailu's heretical remarks in terms of revelation, eschatology, afterlife, confession, and salvation.
The cult has multilingual websites and TV stations (GCNs), which spread to the world through the Internet, and has also developed in in the northeastern region of China.
In March 2020, a collective infection occurred in Wanmin Central Church in Jiulao District, Seoul, South Korea, and at least 28 people were diagnosed.
