In March 1953, an urgent telegram shot from Beijing was placed on the desk of Shao Shiping, the governor of Jiangxi Province.
This telegram was sent by An Ziwen, Minister of the Central Organization. In the telegram, An Ziwen told Shao Shiping: Before the Long March of the Red Army in October 1934, some Red Army generals fostered their children who could not be taken away at the home of fellow villagers in the Soviet area.
Now that the whole country is liberated, the time to find these children is ripe, so the central government decided to let the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government come forward to find the descendants of these Red Army. In the telegram, An Ziwen emphasized one thing in particular: Among these children, one is Mao Mao, the son of Mao Zedong and He Zizhen. Maomao was only two years old when she left her parents, so Jiangxi must find a way to find him.

1,
Mao Zedong had 10 children in his life, five of which were born by He Zizhen, but only Li Min grew up safely, and the rest either died in childhood or were lost to the people.
Shao Shiping understands that for a woman, nothing is more painful than losing a child. It happened not long ago that He Zizhen wrote a letter to Shao Shiping, asking him to help find his missing son Maomao. If Maomao can be found, He Zizhen will definitely be very pleased.
Thinking of this, Shao Shiping notified the Minister of Civil Affairs Zhu Kaiquan , asking him to organize elite soldiers and strong generals to find Maomao.

Zhu Kaiquan immediately thought about the candidate to find Maomao. This person is named Wang Jiazhen . He is a young volunteer army officer who has just transferred to the preferential and relief department of the Civil Affairs Department.
Wang Jiazhen is a reconnaissance company commander of a demobilized volunteer army. She has a very flexible mind and has completed many difficult tasks on the Korean battlefield. Once, just based on the half-message seized, he took the reconnaissance company to destroy two enemy regiment-level command centers. So Zhu Kaiquan and Wang Jiazhen are the most suitable candidates.
When Wang Jiazhen came to Zhu Kaiquan's office, Zhu Kaiquan handed the letter from He Zizhen to Wang Jiazhen.
He Zizhen said in the letter that Maomao was born in Changting Red Army Hospital in Fujian in November 1932. She was the second child she and Mao Zedong gave birth to, and the name Mao Anyong.

Maomao looks very much like Mao Zedong, especially with big eyes, which looks very much like his father. Mao Zedong liked this child very much. Every time he came to the hospital, he would hold Maomao and kiss her.
Even if the child falls asleep, he will stand by the child's cradle and quietly look at the child's face. When Maomao woke up, Mao Zedong would hold his child and show off to others: This is our Maomao! He will definitely be more promising than me when he grows up. I only have one hair, and he has two hairs, one more than me!
Maomao has been "sticky" since childhood. When I was over one year old, I knew that I was standing at the door waiting for my father to come home, saying that I wanted to wait for my father to have dinner together. Mao Zedong was often busy until he came home very late. When Maomao was hungry, He Zizhen asked him to have dinner first. He always shook his head and said to his mother, "I'm not hungry, I'm going to wait for my father to come back to have a meal."

2.
Before the Long March, Maomao had just turned two years old. Although he couldn't bear to bear it, Mao Zedong and He Zizhen could only make up their minds and keep the child in the local area, because such a young child was obviously impossible to take the Long March together.
Before the Long March, the central government decided to leave Mao Zedong's younger brother and commander of the Fujian-Jiangxi Military Region Mao Zetan in Soviet area to insist on guerrilla struggle, so Mao Zedong decided to leave Mao Mao to the care of his wife Mao Zetan and He Yi. One of these two people is Maomao’s third uncle and the other is Maomao’s aunt. He Zizhen can feel more at ease when he leaves it to them.

Although he gave the child to the care of his uncle and aunt, how could He Zizhen not worry about it as a mother? Before leaving, she tried to get some cotton, cut a piece of her military uniform, sewed a small cotton coat for Maomao with her own hands, and then reluctantly handed Maomao to Mao Zeqian and his wife...
After the main Red Army left the Soviet area, the enemy launched a crazy "encirclement and suppression" against the Central Soviet Area. For the sake of Maomao's safety, Mao Zetan transferred Maomao secretly to the home of a fellow villager in Ruijin .At that time, Mao Zeqian considered that the fewer people knew about Maomao's identity, the better, so he told anyone where Maomao was not placed, including his wife He Yi.
He Yi was pregnant at that time and did not follow Mao Zetan's action, but instead worked underground in Ganzhou , so even if Mao Zetan wanted to tell his wife, he had no chance.

1935 On the afternoon of April 25, 1935, Mao Zetan led the guerrillas to meet the enemy in Huangtiankeng Village, Ruijin County. In order to cover the retreat of comrades, Mao Zetan died heroically. Since then, no one knows Maomao’s whereabouts again.
Although I don’t know which fellow villager Mao Zetan kept Xiao Maomao at home, He Zizhen and He Yi both believe that Xiao Maomao is still alive. Because if the enemy really catches Mao Zedong's child, it will definitely make a lot of publicity. Since there is no publicity, it means that the enemy does not know Maomao's identity and Maomao must still be alive!
As Maomao's aunt, He Yi always felt guilty when she saw that He Zizhen often cried because of missing Maomao. The sister handed the child over to herself and Mao Zetan, but the child disappeared. He Yi felt very sorry for her sister.

3,
After the liberation of Jiangxi, He Yi was determined to find Maomao.
In early November 1949, He Yi got a clue: There is a child in a village in southern Ganzhou, which may be Maomao. So she took a jeep and went to southern Jiangxi to look for Maomao.
After arriving in southern Gan, He Yi found that the child did not match many places with Maomao and was not Maomao at all, so she decided to return to Ji'an .
On the evening of November 21, He Yi's jeep had a car accident next to Fengtang Bridge in Chengjiang Town, Taihe County.

According to the recollection of Xiao Chuntang in Fengtang Village, on the night when He Yi had an accident, he and several village cadres were having a meeting at the villager Tao Xinxiu's house and heard a life-saving voice coming from afar.
When everyone went out, they found that at five or six meters south end of Fengtang Bridge, a canvas jeep with the license plate " Military Control Commission " was rolled up in a puddle on the side of the road. The jeep's tent was bent, and someone inside was shouting "Help".
The villagers pried open the car door with a piece of wood and rescued the driver and a woman in the back seat. They found that He Yi, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was pressed in the front seat of the deformed cab, and had no vital signs.
In the early morning, Yan Zhimin, a specialist at Ji'an Commissioner's Office, arrived at the scene. After confirming that He Yi was killed, Yan Zhimin found a coffin, and Xiao Manzhen, a villager from Fengtang Village, wiped He Yi's mud and stains, combed his hair, put it into the coffin and transported it to Ji'an.

After understanding these situations, Wang Jiazhen felt a lot of emotion.
As a Ruijin man, Wang Jiazhen has heard many legendary stories about He Zizhen since she was a child, and she has a deep respect for this elder sister. If she could help her find Maomao, it would be her lifelong pride. Wang Jiazhen secretly made up his mind: no matter how difficult it is, he must find Maomao!
After Wang Jiazhen came to Ruijin, the Ruijin County Party Committee and County Government also expressed that they would do their best to help him find Maomao. The county government specially found more than a dozen old Red Army soldiers of that year and asked them about Maomao, but the old Red Army soldiers said they did not know Maomao's whereabouts.
Wang Jiazhen was not discouraged. He was determined to find Maomao even if he traveled all the villages in the county!

Just like that, Wang Jiazhen began a difficult search. But a month and a half passed, and he visited nearly a hundred villages, but still found no clues.
After learning that Wang Jiazhen’s search was not going well, the comrade who accompanied Wang Jiazhen to look for it made a suggestion: Why not go to the county archives to check it and see if you can find any clues?
One word awakens the dreamer. Wang Jiazhen felt that this was a good idea, so she came to the county archives. Sure enough, a record was found in the 1934 "Ruijin County Chronicles": "The leader of the Communist Party, Mao Zedong, gave birth to a son and sent him to Ruiyi."
Although there are only a dozen words, it strengthened Wang Jiazhen's confidence: Maomao was indeed fostered in Ruijin! "As long as Maomao is still alive, I will definitely find him! "

4.
A few days later, Wang Jiazhen found out about Yeping Township : Zhu Shengtai from Zhufang Village, the township adopted a child from the Red Army that year!
Zhu Shengtai is a farmer in his 50s and looks very honest and honest. As soon as Wang Jiazhen arrived at the Zhu family, he told Wang Jiazhen: "We adopted a child from the Red Army, and the nickname is also Maomao. Later we asked him to follow my surname, and now he is called Zhu Daolai. "
" has also its nickname "maomao"! "These six words were like a thunder, which made Wang Jiazhen's heart beat. He asked hurriedly: "Where is Zhu Dao coming? Bring me to see! "
Unexpectedly, Zhu Shengtai sighed: "Oh, I've been taken to Nanjing! "

Seeing Wang Jiazhen's face showing shock, Zhu Shengtai slowly opened the valve of memory and recalled the past twenty years ago to Wang Jiazhen...
In September of the lunar calendar in 1934, Zhu Shengtai and his fellow villagers heard a painful news: The Red Army is leaving Ruijin! Everyone knows that the Red Army is leaving, and the White Bandits come to bully the people again, so there is no People help poor people! But as ordinary people, although they can't bear to leave the Red Army, what can they do?
One day at the end of September, Zhu Shengtai was having a meal, and a township Soviet cadre came to his house with a child in his hand and a Red Army cadre. The Soviet cadre said to Zhu Shengtai: "My fellow villager, this child is the child of the Red Army. His parents have gone to fight guerrillas. Please help raise him for a while. Is it OK? "

At this time, the child seemed to feel something and suddenly started crying. Zhu Shengtai's wife Huang Yueying hurriedly hugged the child, broke the red potato in her hand and fed it into the child's mouth. The child gradually stopped crying.
Zhu Shengtai looked at the child a few times and found that the child had a high forehead and big eyes. He was holding it in his hand and eating the red potato in big mouthfuls. He seemed to be hungry. He looked at his wife and saw that his wife did not object, so he nodded vigorously.
The Red Armyman saw that Zhu Shengtai agreed, so he placed a bag on the table of the Zhu family and bowed to Zhu Shengtai and his wife: "Brother and sister-in-law, the child will be entrusted to you. The child’s nickname is Maomao. No matter what happens, please protect him. I thank you for your child’s parents! "

After the Red Army left, Zhu Shengtai and his wife opened the bag he left behind and saw that it was a small cotton jacket and several clothes made of military uniforms, and there was no other thing.
After leaving the child, Zhu Shengtai told his wife: If the Bai Jun came to check the origin of the child, he would say that the child was picked up halfway. For this reason, Zhu Shengtai gave the child a big name "Daolai", which means it was picked up halfway.
Although the family is not rich, Zhu Shengtai is better to this child than his own. If there is anything delicious at home, let Daolai eat it first, and his son will wait for Daolai to finish eating before eating it.
What worries Zhu Shengtai the most is that the Bai Jun always comes to various villages from time to time to search The Red Army and the descendants of the Red Army.
One night in February 1935, the weather was particularly cold. Zhu Shengtai, who was sleeping, was awakened by the barking of dogs. Knowing that the Japanese and White Army was coming, he hid in the mountains behind the village with a small path. After dawn, the White Army dared to go home. That night, Zhu Shengtai was afraid that the road would be cold, so he took off his cotton jacket and wrapped it tightly, and he became sick by the cold.
Daolai has lived in the Zhu family for 19 years, and Zhu Shengtai and his wife have devoted all their efforts to the growth of Daolai. What makes the couple happy is that Daolai is very smart. Whether in elementary or middle school, his grades are always among the best in school.
Neighbors all say that Daolai will definitely be admitted to university in the future and become the first college student in the village. Every time he hears this, Zhu Shengtai feels happy.

But not long ago, a middle-aged woman from Nanjing came to the Zhu family and said that she was her child. She came here specifically to take over this time.
The Ruijin County Civil Affairs Department, who accompanied the woman, agreed to tell Zhu Shengtai that the woman's husband was a Red Army cadre who died in the anti-encirclement and suppression. Half a month before the sacrifice, they left their children in Ruijin.
After the woman came to Zhu's house, she insisted that the small cotton jacket in the bag was sewn by herself. Zhu Daolai was her biological son and wanted to take Daolai to Nanjing.
Zhu Shengtai and his wife considered that she was the telling mother, so they could not dominate the other person's son and refused to return it, right? Besides, for the sake of telling the future, going to Nanjing is much better than staying in Ruijin Country. So although this simple couple couldn't bear to let go, they still let her take her away.

55,
After listening to Zhu Shengtai's story, Wang Jiazhen felt that this matter was a bit strange: the woman decided that she was her child based on her one-sided words, which seemed a little reckless. In addition, after seeing the story, she did not call out the nickname "Maomao". Did she forget that her child had this nickname, or other reasons?
To be cautious, Wang Jiazhen wanted to come and saw that the child looked very much like Mao Zedong when he was young.
At this time, Zhu Shengtai told Wang Jiazhen another thing: After Zhu Daolai was taken to Nanjing, the woman was not very good to Daolai. Daolai even wrote a letter to tell him that he wanted to return to Ruijin. Generally speaking, how can a mother treat her children badly after finding a child who has been separated for many years? Is there a possibility that after this woman took Daolai to Nanjing, she found that Daolai was not her child?

With these questions, Wang Jiazhen returned to Nanchang . After listening to his report and opinions, Zhu Kaiquan and Shao Shiping thought it was very reasonable, so they reported to the Organization Department of the Central Committee. The Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee quickly called back, asking Wang Jiazhen and Huang Yueying to go to Nanjing to pick up Zhu Dao to Shanghai, and let He Zizhen identify it himself.
In June 1953, Zhu Daolai finally stood in front of He Zizhen. As soon as he saw Zhu Daorai, big tears came out of He Zizhen's eyes, and he shouted in a trembling voice: "It's Maomao, he is my Maomao!"
To be on the safe side, Wang Jiazhen took out the little cotton jacket and let He Zizhen identify it. He Zizhen recognized at a glance that he had sewed it with thousands of needles and threads for 20 years, and he would never admit his mistakes in his life!
In order to confirm that Zhu Daolai is Maomao, He Zizhen's brother He Minxue and his wife Li Liying also came to help identify it. When the two saw Zhu Daolai, they both sighed the same way: This child looks very much like Mao Zedong when he was young!

He Minxue is cautious. Although he thought that Zhu Daolai was Maomao, he still proposed to take Maomao for blood tests to see if his blood type is the same as He Zizhen. In just two days, the result came out: the blood types of the two were exactly the same!
After the blood type test, He Minxue invited Zhu Daolai, Huang Yueying and Wang Jiazhen to his home and set up a banquet. One was to congratulate him on finding Maomao, the other was to thank Huang Yueying for his many years of raising Daolai, and the third was to thank Wang Jiazhen for his efforts to help find Maomao.
After the Shanghai Municipal Committee reported the news of finding Maomao to the Central Committee, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee sent a notice: Zhu Daolai, Huang Yueying and Wang Jiazhen were asked to go to Beijing. Although He Zizhen was not invited, she was still very happy. She wrote a letter to her daughter Li Min for Daolai to send it, and told Li Min: Zhu Daolai is the brother Maomao I told you before! After Maomao arrives in Beijing, you have to take him to have fun in Beijing and accompany him to see your father, so that your father will be happy!

Zhu Daolai and his party came to Beijing and temporarily lived in the guesthouse of the Organization Department of the Central Committee. The next day, Li Min came to the door. When she saw Zhu Daolai, she naturally and kindly called "Brother" and took Zhu Daolai and Huang Yueying to Summer Palace for a whole day.
While Zhu Daolai was in Beijing, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Dong Biwu, Deng Yingchao, Kang Keqing, Shuai Mengqi and others have visited him. Everyone felt that Zhu Daolai should be Maomao, Shuai Mengqi also took Zhu Daolai home for a few days.
After Huang Yueying lived in Beijing for a few days, she proposed to go back to Ruijin. Although she has no education, she can also see who her father should be. The kind farmer woman did not seek credit or made any requests to the organization. What she most pleased was that after finding her parents, the big stone in her heart could finally be put down!

6,
Seeing that this incident will usher in a happy ending, but a "Cheng Yaojin" came out halfway, causing the whole thing to take a sharp turn for the worse.
This "Cheng Yaojin" is Zhu Yueqian, a woman from Nanjing. I don’t know what purpose she was. After learning that Zhu Daolai was living in the Beijing Organization Department Guesthouse, she ran over and made a big fuss, saying that Zhu Daolai was her child, and she would die to show anyone who stole her child.
While Zhu Yueqian was making a big fuss at the guesthouse, she also wrote to the General Office of the Central Committee, insisting that Zhu Daolai was his son, and other results were wrong. Zhou Enlai had no choice but to report this matter to Mao Zedong.

Mao Zedong was a great man with a broad mind. Perhaps he didn't want to hurt the feelings of the Nanjing woman. Mao Zedong thought for a long time and came to the final conclusion on this matter: "No matter which child he is, he is a descendant of the revolution. Give him to the people and to the organization!"
Mao Zedong said that the dispute over Zhu Daolai's identity stopped. Zhu Daolai neither returned to He Zizhen nor returned to Nanjing with Zhu Yueqian. Instead, he was sent to Shuai Mengqi's house by the organization, and was taken care of by Shuai's elder sister.
After Zhu Daolai stayed in Beijing, he kept in contact with Wang Jiazhen with letters. Wang Jiazhen learned from Zhu Daolai's letter that Zhu Daolai was first transferred to Tsinghua University and was admitted to Tsinghua University in 1957. After graduating from university, he was assigned to a national defense research unit to engage in scientific research. In December 1971, Zhu Daolai died of liver cancer and was only 39 years old.

After Zhu Daolai left Shanghai, He Zizhen never saw the "mao" in her heart again. Although Zhu Yueqian met Zhu Daolai after working at Zhu Daolai, the relationship between the two was not good. Zhu Daolai never called Zhu Yueqian "mother" and never used the name "Huo Xiaoqing" he gave him.
Zhu Daolai's adoptive father Zhu Shengtai died of illness in 1973, and his adoptive mother Huang Yueying died in 1980. When the two died, they didn't know what happened around Zhu Daolai. Perhaps it would be better for these two simple peasant couples to not know what happened next!
