In the Changbai Mountains in the southern part of Zouping, with green peaks, there is a small mountain village with beautiful scenery and famous inside and outside the city. It is Damayu Village, Xidong Street Office. More than 70 years ago, in the wars and unpredictable life and death, the hardworking and simple people from Damayu Village, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, shared joys and sorrows, hardships, and fought side by side with the people's army led by the Party. In the test of blood and fire, a group of heroic figures and heroic stories have emerged. The village's five sisters Ma Yuzhen, Li Lanying, Wang Yuqing, Ma Qiaoyun and Ma Yueying are the glorious examples of the military support. Their deeds of supporting the military, which are not afraid of powerful enemies or sacrifices, have been passed down from generation to generation by the people of Changbai Mountain.

In the war years, women like Ma Yuzhen, who were wrapped in small feet, were brave enough to break through various shackles of feudal society, unite, and under the guidance of the party organization, headed to the road of revolution, rushed to the front line of anti-Japanese war, and shouldered the burden of family and revolution with their weak shoulders. During the war, they joined the Communist Party of China, obeyed the Party's command, and sweared to the Party - they were willing to give their all to the Party and the Revolutionary cause. In an environment where bullets and enemy coercion and temptation, the five sisters dared to shoulder heavy responsibilities, were not afraid of sacrifice, and contributed to the victory of the New China with practical actions.
Ma Yuzhen is the oldest among the five sisters supporting the army in Damayu Village. She was a cadre of the Women's Rescue Association of the Eighth District of Changshan County during the War of Resistance Against Japan. She led the four sisters Li Lanying, Wang Yuqing, Ma Qiaoyun, Ma Yueying and other women in the village to spin threads and weave cloth, make military shoes, sew military uniforms and bullet bags for soldiers, and support the anti-Japanese front with practical actions, becoming a model leader in supporting the army. Because her home is at the foot of the village entrance mountain, her geographical location is quite special, every time her superior goes from Xiaoqing Hebei to the Lunan base area and passes by the garrison cadres and staff in the military area of Damayu Village, she asks to arrange food and accommodation in her home. If there is any situation, she will immediately arrange for the comrades to evacuate and disperse, or evacuate to the mountains or hide elsewhere. As the village women's director, Ma Yuzhen not only organized the whole village women to support the army, but also participated in the operation to escort the former Minister of Railways Ma Qianli, former Deputy Director of the State Council Administration Bureau and Deputy Director of the State Council Office Li Mengfu crossed the Changbai Mountain Transportation Line.
Ma Yuzhen also organized village women to go to the battlefield to rescue the wounded. In October 1943, the second squadron of Changshan County, who moved to Heban Mountain, was suddenly surrounded by the Japanese and puppet troops. Under the leadership of the squadron leader Zhang Fangsheng, the second squadron launched a desperate battle with the enemy. Zhang Fangsheng and most of the soldiers died heroically, and more than a dozen wounded people were on the position. In addition, there were also battles in the west, southeast, northyuchang, and Dazanglingdongyu Village, and the wounded people were also involved. Upon hearing the news, Ma Yuzhen and other sisters immediately removed the door panel of their home and led the villagers to risk their lives and death, cross mountains and ridges, bravely rescue the wounded and transport the bodies of martyrs. Just like their relatives, they sent the wounded to military clinics and rear hospitals, so that the wounded were treated in time.
Li Lanying, born in 1922, died in April 2012. She was influenced by advanced people in her early years and secretly joined the Communist Party of China when she was under 18 years old. During the Anti-Japanese War, she served as the president of the Damayu Village Women's Rescue Association and the head of the "Qing Xingxian" (China Anti-Japanese Pioneer Team), and secretly organized women in the village to actively support the front line for the fight against Japan and the country. And secretly joined our party's underground intelligence transmission work. During the war years, women in the village were organized to spin thread and weave cloth, make military shoes and uniforms, sew bullet bags, spread pancakes, grind fried noodles, and disguise with members of the Women's Rescue Base, and then send them to the government location more than ten miles away on time, and then send them to the front line. In 1946, the enemy suddenly attacked Damayu Village. The enemy gathered the whole village's old and young people together and demanded that our revolutionary cadres be handed over to face the extremely vicious enemy. After communicating with the women in the village with her eyes, she responded calmly and responded to the enemies who came to search without showing any timidity, delaying the time and ensuring the safe transfer of cadres in my base area. In 1980, Li Lanying enjoyed some of the treatment issued by the state after approval by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Wang Yuqing, born in 1915, died of illness in the summer of 1971. In early 1939, the party organization established a grassroots party branch of the Communist Party of China in Damayu Village. This was one of the earliest party branches established in Changbai Mountain District at that time. This year, Wang Yuqing secretly joined the Communist Party of China and became one of the earliest party members in Damayu Village and even Changba District. After Wang Yuqing joined the party organization, he participated in the village women's national rescue meeting. We secretly organized anti-Japanese patriotic women from all over the village and nearby villages with Ma Yuzhen, Li Lanying and others to actively participate in the struggle between the military and civilian anti-Japanese aggressors in the Changbai Mountain Anti-Japanese Base Area. According to the organizational arrangements, women are often led to the garrison hospital for help and carry out medical treatment for the wounded and sick. In a major battle, there were many wounded people carrying them down on the battlefield. When the hospital could not accommodate them during the war, she asked the wounded to live in her home. She took care of them day and night, fed them food and medicine, and took their shit and urine. During her care, in order to alleviate the illness of the injured and sick, she seriously learned nursing knowledge and technology from military doctors, and her injection and dressing technology has greatly improved. She almost became half a nurse, and she was busy all day long, and she almost didn't care about her children at home. She married Liu Xudong at the age of 19. Liu Xudong served as the mayor of Changbaishan District (the mayor of the Eighth District of Changshan County) and the captain of the Eighth Route Army Armed Forces Team. For the sake of the revolution, the two have left their families behind and are devoted to the revolution. Every time Liu Xudong led the armed forces to move in a village near Damayu, Wang Yuqing would sit at the entrance of the village or on the streets in the village and under the old locust trees at the gate to pretend to be soles and spin twine, standing guard for the armed forces, and immediately notifying them of the transfer whenever there was any situation, and protected our Eighth Route Army troops many times.
Ma Qiaoyun, Ma Yueying and Ma Yuzhen, Li Lanying and Wang Yuqing secretly joined the anti-Japanese and national salvation organizations led by the Communist Party of China, such as the "Women's National Saving Association" and "Qing Xingxian". Under the leadership of the party organization, they secretly carried out activities in Damayu Village and nearby villages, organized the majority of women to actively support the front and make their own contributions to the liberation of the Chinese nation. Because their deeds were deeply touching, they were praised by the local people as the "five sisters" who actively supported the front in the war years. In order to commemorate these five models before supporting the army, people built a memorial hall and erected sculptures in the patriotic education base in Damayu Village. Their deeds are still praised among the people of Changbai Mountain.
