Such an ending caused a lot of discussion between the government and the public at that time, and many people questioned Yongzheng's death.
In "Yongzheng Dynasty", the author wrote Yongzheng's death as suicide. The reason for the suicide was because he occupied a beautiful woman named Qiao Yindi, because this beauty looked very much like Yongzheng's first love. Little did Yongzheng know that afterwards, this Qiao Yindi was actually the daughter of his first love, which means that Qiao Yindi was actually Yongzheng's own daughter! This made Qiao Yindi and Yongzheng very embarrassed at that time! So, they both chose to commit suicide.

Another theory is circulating among the people. This theory is the "literary inquisition" that emerged in Yongzheng's time, which caused many innocent people to die. Among them, there was a chivalrous woman named Lu Siniang, whose family was also killed because of "literary inquisition".
Therefore, in order to avenge his family, Lu Siniang practiced martial arts hard and eventually got involved in the palace and assassinated Yongzheng. This is the legend of "Yongzheng's headless" circulating among the people in our country. But this statement is not reliable, because in ancient imperial palaces, the guards were very strict, especially around the emperor, and it was not easy for ordinary people to assassinate the emperor. In addition, although Yongzheng died suddenly in history, he still said that after he became ill, his condition continued to worsen and eventually died. Therefore, this statement is unreliable.
However, after Yongzheng suddenly passed away, Qianlong clarified one thing to the government and the people, that is, he once said in person, "The late emperor, Yongzheng, never took elixirs, and raising Taoist priests to refine elixirs is just a joke." What does this mean? Could it be that the cause of Yongzheng's death is related to elixirs? If this is the case, then Yongzheng's death was poisoned! Otherwise, why was Qianlong eager to confess his love? Isn’t this “no silver here without three hundred taels”?
Because in the bills of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the Yongzheng period, various raw materials were also recorded for alchemy. At the same time, historical records also recorded that during the Yongzheng period, a group of Taoist priests were indeed supported in the palace, and in the end, Qianlong drove them out of the palace only after he ascended the throne.
