1907, Chen Xiuliang was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang, in a wealthy family. The father is doing business outside, and the mother is taking care of her husband and children at home. The family is harmonious and life is happy.
But unfortunately, it is always so unexpected. When Chen Xiuliang was 2 years old, his father died of illness. In order to embezzle their property, the tribesmen drove the mother and daughter out of the house for a very strange reason, that is, the mother did not give birth to a son.
The mother, who came from a scholarly family, was fed up with the pain of women being discriminated against. While teaching Chen Xiuliang to learn culture, she encouraged her that "what men can do can also do."
Influenced by his mother, Chen Xiuliang likes the story of the revolutionary Qiu Jin the most. The heroic spirit of "Take care with all your passion and diligence, and shedding it can still transform the blue waves" was planted in Chen Xiuliang's heart early on.
During school, Chen Xiuliang liked to read progressive publications such as "Guide" and "Chinese Youth". Influenced by the progressive ideas at that time, she had higher pursuits.
She has organized and participated in a strike against the May 30th Massacre and served as the editor of "Young Pioneer". In 1926, she gloriously joined the Chinese Communist Youth League .
This made me meet Xiang Jingyu, the leader of our party, and was able to learn various skills against the enemy under her leadership. Because Chen Xiuliang performed well, he quickly became Xiang Jingyu's secretary.
Later, after being introduced to the police, she joined the Communist Party of China and has been engaged in underground work for the party for a long time.
1945, the Anti-Japanese War was won, but it did not bring the expected peace. Chiang Kai-shek brazenly launched the civil war and launched an attack on the liberated areas.
Chen Xiuliang received a new task to Nanjing, the enemy's political heart, and serve as Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee.
Before this, eight Nanjing Municipal Party Secretarys were killed due to the crazy suppression and massacre of the Kuomintang reactionaries on Communist Party . After receiving the task, Chen Xiuliang carried a shoulder pole into the city without any hesitation.
Before leaving, she told her husband that she would rather use her life to strive for the early peaceful liberation of Nanjing.
In just three years, Chen Xiuliang developed the Nanjing underground party organization with only more than 200 people under the enemy's eyelids to more than 2,000 people distributed in all walks of life, especially in the Kuomintang army. While awakening many lurking personnel, she also developed multiple underground party organization members to provide strong organizational guarantees for instigating the military uprising.
1947, our army's victory on the battlefield gradually expanded. In order to reduce the losses caused by military war, our party shifted the focus of the work in the enemy-occupied areas to rebellion against the Kuomintang personnel, and strived to remain unsatisfied with those who were dissatisfied with the corruption of the Kuomintang, resented Chiang Kai-shek's unfairness, and were worried about the future of the Chiang Dynasty.
After receiving the instructions, Chen Xiuliang and his comrades from the Nanjing Underground Party first targeted Yu Bo, a pilot of the Kuomintang bomber brigade.

The reason why Chen Xiuliang recognized Yu Bo was based on his understanding of Yu Bo.
Yu Bo comes from a military family. His father and elder brother died at the hands of the Japanese devils. His mother could not withstand the blow and left with hatred a year later. Yu Bo applied for the pilot exam to get the blood debt from the Japanese devils and vowed to drive the devils out of China.
But after becoming a pilot, Yu Bo did not participate in the battle with the Japanese, but was ordered to bomb the liberated areas and harm his compatriots. Yu Bo is very upset about this, and sometimes he whispers to his comrades-in-arms who are unwilling to fight a civil war.
Chen Xiuliang believes that Yu Bo has the possibility of being fought for. After organizational discussion and decision, Chen Xiuliang arranged for Lin Jiankun, a doctor at the Air Force Hospital and an underground worker of our party, to approach Yu Bo and make friends with him.
As the friendship gradually deepens, the two become good friends who can talk about everything. Seeing that the time was ripe, Lin Jiankun developed Yu Bo into an underground Communist Party member.
As the Kuomintang retreated step by step, war-weariness was common among pilots. Chen Xiuliang seized the opportunity and asked Lin Jiankun and Yu Bo to increase their efforts and instigated some pilots to fly to the liberated area.
This attracted the attention of the Kuomintang secret service. Chiang Kai-shek ordered the strengthening of pilot supervision and sent most of the families to Taiwan as hostages. Some people were shaken and no longer participated in the secret meetings organized by Yu Bo and Lin Jiankun.
In order to ensure the safety of the pilot, Chen Xiuliang decided that Yu Bo and others would fly the plane to revolt immediately.
On the evening of December 16, 1948, Yu Bo, Hao Guiqiao, Zhou Zuozhou and other four people took off with the navigation maps and carry-on weapons prepared in advance, and drove the US bomber numbered "514". "Boom boom boom" three loud bangs. This was the bomb dropped by Yu Bo and the others over the Presidential Palace. The uprising was successful!
Subsequently, several Kuomintang pilots flew uprising and joined the ranks of the People's Liberation Army Air Force.

Under Chen Xiuliang's instructions, the party organization awakened Bi Chongyuan, an underground party member on the warship, and was specifically responsible for Deng Zhaoxiang's rebellion.
From reading Shanghai's democratic party newspapers and magazines to eavesdropping on radio stations in the liberated areas, Deng Zhaoxiang, under the influence of Bi Chongyuan, gradually improved his understanding of the Communist Party and knew that the Communist Party was the ranks of the people, and was an organization that allowed poor people to have food to eat and had more favorable feelings for the Communist Party.
At that time, in the Battle of Liaoshen, the People's Liberation Army won beautifully; in the Battle of Huaihai, the Kuomintang lost heavily. The officers and soldiers on " Chongqing No. " lost confidence in the prospects of the Kuomintang. Chen Xiuliang learned about this situation and arranged for relevant personnel to carry out work in a timely manner, guided the patriotic youth on the "Chongqing" and established the progressive organization "Liberation Committee" to prepare for the Chongqing uprising and prepare for progressive forces.
In February 1949, Chen Xiuliang received information: Chongqing received an order to enter the Yangtze River and block the People's Liberation Army from crossing the river. Chen Xiuliang immediately sent underground party members to join Bi Chongyuan to find Deng Zhaoxiang and mobilize him to revolt. At the same time, under the leadership of the Party, the officers and soldiers of the "Liberation Committee" started the process of the uprising: cut off the communication lines, detained the loyal Kuomintang members, and convened the remaining officers and soldiers on the "Chongqing" to explain the Communist Party's policies and the current situation.

With the efforts of Bi Chongyuan and others, Deng Zhaoxiang finally made up his mind to lead the "Chongqing" to the liberated area. On February 26, Chongqing successfully arrived at Yantai Port . After Chiang Kai-shek learned of the Chongqing Uprising, he was furious and ordered the Air Force to blow up the Chongqing Uprising at all costs.
