Reasons for opposing

Secondly, our current army has not experienced large-scale wars.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, our troops began to disarmament. If new recruits were recruited, these new recruits would not have much battlefield experience and their combat effectiveness would definitely not be strong enough.

In 1978, the Soviet Union and Vietnam signed a military alliance treaty, which stated that if one side encounters a military strike, the other side must provide unconditional support.
This treaty is undoubtedly the root of Vietnam's arrogance and domineeringness. The Soviet Union's intervention made this war difficult.

At that time, Vietnamese soldiers repeatedly provoked on the Sino-Vietnam border, while the Soviet Union in the north held millions of troops on the Sino-Soviet border.

The self-righteous Vietnam thought that a military alliance treaty was signed between the Soviet Union and Vietnam, and the Soviet Union would provide them with infinite military assistance on the battlefield.
However, in fact, what the Soviet Union issued was just a blank check, and it just wanted to use Vietnam to demonstrate to China, which hindered China's development. It was not really trying to be an ally with Vietnam.
In addition to this, the relationship between China and the United States has gradually calmed down.
The Soviet Union is not sure whether the United States will support China, so naturally it will not act rashly.

Counterattack against Vietnam
January 29, 1979, it was during the period when Mr. Deng was visiting the United States.

Just one week, the People's Liberation Army had entered Vietnam, and three routes advanced side by side and finally occupied Gaoping.
In early March, our army captured Lang Son , penetrated 40 kilometers deep into Vietnam, conquered a series of important towns in northern Vietnam, and continued to fight to the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi .
