This is a photo from the World War II period. The specific shooting time and location are no longer available. Looking alone, we just saw worn shoes piled up with abandoned rooms. Replacing old shoes with new shoes, our minds have automatically prepared a story for these shoes. But these shoes were not replaced. All we know about this picture is: these are the shoes of the victims in the German concentration camp.
What piles up together is not only shoes, but also countless deaths that have nowhere to be placed.
When I learned this information, emotions of depression, panic, anger, sadness, and fear swept across my mind. I seemed to see stacks of corpses burning, rotting, and turning into ashes. I saw the bustling Jews being charged with false charges, they were asked to work in the cold wind; I saw them living in houses with crowded, dilapidated, wet and even rotten bodies; I saw them being asked to stand in a row, and then watched the Nazis shoot their own compatriots... I could no longer bear to continue thinking.
