Historical problems are often very complicated because they were forcibly occupied by strong countries when the country was weak in the previous period.
So if you want to change, most of them will only have direct war. Once this is the case, the losses caused are often much greater than the problem of this legacy land itself.
A better way is to negotiate. The most typical example is that the 171 square kilometers of homeland below are included in my country's territory, completely resolving border disputes, and the two countries have been intimate since then.
This land is Heixiazi Island .
Heixiazi Island was originally an island on the northeastern border of my country, with an area of more than 300 square kilometers, which is equivalent to a county.
When Tsarist Russia cut off a large amount of land in Northeast my country, Heixiazi Island clearly stated that it was land in our country.
But in the 1920s, the Soviet Union continued to infiltrate Heixiazi Island. After the Middle East Road incident, the army directly drove into Heixiazi Island.
War broke out for this, and the Northeast defenders were outnumbered and eventually retreated.
In the end, 100,000 Soviet troops took over Heixiazi Island, which became a historical problem.
After the founding of New China , my country and the Soviet Union began to negotiate the issue of Heixiazi Island. Negotiations were held in 1954 and 1969.
However, because of the Sino-Soviet conflict, this problem has not been resolved, and instead makes the boundaries even more tense.
not only sent more troops to Heixiazi Island, but also continued to immigrate in an attempt to occupy it forever.
For more than 20 years since then, it was basically controlled by the Soviet Union and confronted our country.
did not start to improve until 1986, because at that time, Gorbachev began to negotiate the Heixiazi Island issue with our country for the third time.
Thereafter, negotiations were held in 1991, 1994 and 1999 to deal with the ownership of Heixiazi Island.
For my country, although all Heixiazi Island belongs to my country, it is impossible for Russia to voluntarily withdraw after being controlled by the Soviet Union for more than half a century.
And for our country, if we want to develop friendly with Russia, we must resolve the issue peacefully.
For Russia, it does not want the gap between the two countries because of Heixiazi Island, so it is willing to make concessions and take the initiative to retreat.
In 2004, the new president Putin posed for the photo and signed a border treaty to officially resolve the Heixiazi Island issue.
300 square kilometers of Heixiazi Island is divided into two parts, and my country has recovered half of it.
, that is, 171 square kilometers are included in my country's territory, and our army will return to the island to completely resolve the border dispute between the two countries.
From then on, there was no more barrier between my country and Russia, and the border issue was basically resolved. From then on, the relationship between the two countries has been continuously improved and it has been intimate now.
So this 171 square kilometers of land is of great significance and is a historical breakthrough.
