The conflict between believers and the people intensified, and Cixi wanted to use the help of the big sword and spear, the Royal Guard and the fanatical Boxer to strangle foreign forces, causing a strong rebound in foreign forces. So Cixi sent a letter of war to the world's strongest 18 countries to "declare war" and the next " Eight-Nation Alliance " to enter Beijing, and burned the Old Summer Palace . Afterwards, the four-nation coalition forces entered Baoding to carry out a "crazy revenge" activity.
1898 On May 18, 1898, the Qing army stationed in Baoding and the Beiguan Catholic Church clashed, and the French priest Du Paul was beaten up. Under the intervention of the French minister, Du Paul proposed to exchange the church in Beiguan with the old Qinghe Road Administration. Therefore, since June 9, the French began to build beautiful Western-style Catholic churches in the core area of , Baoding City.
1899, the Boxer Rebellion developed the Communist Youth League in Baoding, and the prosperity day by day, and the young women in Baoding organized red lights. Although the Baoding government issued a notice banning the Boxer Rebellion, it had little effect. On March 20, the Boxer Regiment of Qingyuan joined forces with more than 2,000 people from nearby villages, attacked Jiangzhuang Church with big swords and wooden sticks; on April 29, they occupied Zhuozhou City again. The Qing army rushed to suppress it, but was repelled by the regiments and was frightened to Zhizhou and committed suicide. At the same time, the Boxer Rebellion demolished more than 10 miles of the railway, causing the Lubao Railway to be interrupted.
May 7, more than 30 craftsmen who built a church in Baoding thought of taking refuge in Tianjin, but unexpectedly, they were intercepted by the Boxer Rebellion on the way, killing 4 people and missing 6 people. From May 8 to 9, three newly built churches were burned. The government was extremely frightened and on June 2, Li Hongzhang was urgently ordered to go north as the governor of Zhili and the minister of Beiyang, and granted the plenipotentiary minister to discuss peace with various countries.
July 21, the Eight-Nation Alliance captured Beijing. Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu fled to Shanxi, and Wenyuan Pavilion Grand Secretary Ronglu , and Minister of Revenue Chongqi fled to Baoding. On August 10, Chongqi committed suicide by frighteningly at Wanjuan Tower, Lianchi Academy.
August 16, Ronglu ordered the Zhili army to not resist the Eight-Nation Alliance, but instead ordered the local officials of Zhili to suppress the Boxer Regiment. On August 19, the French army invaded Baoding from Tianjin. According to the "Shunping County Chronicles", Xie Mou of Xiwuligang Village led a crowd to attack the German Catholic church on South Street in March. On September 3, the Debian entered the county territory and killed the magistrate, Dianshi, foreign commission and other officials, and all the official documents and files of the county office were burned. Xizhaojiazhuang and Dongwuligang Village were also burned. It was not until April 26 of the following year that the German army withdrew from the county, and the plague began to spread that year.
1900 On September 15, 1900, the coalition forces stationed in Baobao formed the Military Law Office and declared the Governor-General's Office of the Governor-General's Office guilty of the Governor-General's Office, and the head of the "Phoenix Platform" in the southeast corner of the city. 1901 On September 17, 1901, the exhausted Li Hongzhang died of illness and ordered Yuan Shikai to act as the acting governor of Zhili and the minister of Beiyang. Seeing the atrocities of the great powers made Yuan Shikai feel a strong sense of mission, so he began to train new troops in Baoding and build an arsenal in Dongguan, Baoding on September 27. On April 18, 1902, the Beiyang Army General Academy, Normal School, Zhili Agricultural School and other institutions were founded.
