We know that the Prime Minister of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms Zhuge Liang was not only an outstanding politician, military strategist, and writer in ancient China, but also a great inventor.
His famous inventions include: Wooden ox and horse , Kongming lanterns, ten consecutive crossbows, etc. These inventions are very practical and play a major role in solving military food transportation, information transmission, and improving equipment combat effectiveness. ——These inventions are closely related to Zhuge Liang's emphasis on scientific and technological research and development and application.
In such a coach, there will naturally be such craftsmen. Moreover, without these excellent craftsmen, no matter how good the invention and design are, they will not create corresponding physical objects.
Under Zhuge Liang's hands, there is such a skilled craftsman. It can even be said that at the initiative of Zhuge Liang, the idea of the wooden ox and flowing horse might have been thought of by this craftsman. This craftsman is Pu Yuan.
"The Three Kingdoms: Biography of the Later Lord" records: "In the ninth year of Jianxing, Liang returned to Qishan and transported him with wooden ox and retreated from the army; in the spring of the twelfth year, Liang learned that the masses came out of the slanting valley and transported him with flowing horses. According to the martial arts Wuzhangyuan , he and Sima Xuan were in Weinan." This mentioned Zhuge Liang's military ration mountain transportation tool wooden ox and flowing horses.
In Zhao Wusheng's "Quick History": "Pu Yuan made wood, ox and horses, and nowadays people say that it was created by Wu Hou." According to what is said here, Pu Yuan was created according to Zhuge Liang's creativity.
In Du You's " Tongdian " said: "Liang gathered the governors Liao Li , Du Rui, Hu Zhong, etc., and recommended that they be wooden ox and flowing horses. Based on this, Pu Yuan and others actually created it, not Liang's own creation." According to what is said here, the inventor of the wooden ox and horse is probably not Zhuge Liang alone, but the crystallization of the cooperation between everyone. It is very likely that Zhuge Liang was the one who proposed the creativity, while Pu Yuan was the actual design and manufacturer.
In the Qing Dynasty Zhang Shu compiled by Zhang Shu, it is clear that "Kong Ming wants to fight the northern expedition, but it is difficult to transport grain. Yuan Di and Kong Ming said: "Yuan and others recommend that they make a wooden ox and take two rings. Walking six feet into the road, the horse will go four steps. People carry food for one year.'" From this point of view, Pu Yuan is one of the actual main inventors of "wooden ox and flowing horse".
Pu Yuan is a rare skilled craftsman in Zhuge Liang's army. He not only made wooden ox and flowing horses, but also followed the order of the Lord of Shu, Liu Bei, to use the iron from Jinniu Mountain, "making 50,000 swords, all of which were serialized and blades, and arranged seventy-two refinings, with the handles connected to them, and both have two words." ——It seems that this is a general weapon and equipment in the army.
is Liu Bei's "cast eight iron swords, each with three feet and six inches long." In addition, when Zhuge Liang sent troops to Xigu , he was ordered to create three thousand swords. The sword he created was extremely sharp, and his technical level even reached a magical level. For this reason, the later general Jiang Wei also wrote a biography "Biography of Pu Yuan" for him.
Biography says: "Your nature is full of strange ideas, and you get it naturally. The things like nose are like gods. You don't even see the forging skills. You suddenly cast three thousand knives in Zhuge Liang in the slanting valley. A special method of making a tool for melting gold is a special method. The knife is completed and said that Hanshui is blunt and weak, and you don't use it for quenching. Shujiang is refreshing and strong. This is called the essence of the great gold, and its nature is wild. So I ordered people to take it in Chengdu.
A man came to you. You quench your knife and say it is mixed with Fushui. , not available. Those who take water still defend their words without being mixed. You painted water with a knife and said, "Eight liters of miscellaneous things, why not say they are mixed with thorns? 'The person who takes water kowtowed his head and hid, and the clouds were actually carried overturned water at Fujin Ferry, and was afraid of fear, so he used Fushui 8 liters to improve it.
so all of them were surprised to accept it, which was called magical. The sword was formed, and the iron beads filled with the inside of the bamboo tube, and the knife was raised to cut it. The hand fell down when it was empty. If you shave the raw straw, it was called the world's sword. The current one who bent the earrings is its legacy. "What does
mean? Jiang Wei said that Pu Yuan had many wonderful ideas by nature, and they were all obtained naturally, often by analogy and like divine help. He had never seen him create any artifacts on weekdays, but suddenly cast three thousand swords for Zhuge Liang in the Xigu.
and his method of building weapons is very unusual. After he beat the knife, he said that the water of Hanjiang in the Hanzhong Hanjiang area is soft and blunt and not resistant to quenching; while the water of Shu River (Minjiang ) is refreshing and vigorous, and the Yuanjing of metal is gathered, which is naturally generated. So, he sent people to Chengdu to get the Minjiang River water to cast the knife.
One person took the water back and handed it to Pu Yuan. Pu Yuan took the water quenching knife and tried it, and said that the water was mixed with Fujiang water, which could not be used. The person who can take in water insisted that there was no other water added.
Pu Yuan picked up a knife and scratched it in the water, saying, "The water is mixed with eight liters of Fu River water. Why don't you dare say it is not mixed?" When the person who fetched the water, he hurriedly kowtowed and confessed his guilt, saying that when he was transporting the water to the Fu River Ferry, the water vessel poured out and some water was poured out. Because he was afraid of being punished, he added eight liters of Fu River water to the spot.
After hearing this, everyone else was amazed and admired, saying that Pu Yuan was too magical.
Later, Pu Yuan cast the knife into it. Seal it with a bamboo tube filled with iron beads, raise the knife and cut it, and then break it with your hands, just like cutting grass. Therefore, the knife cast by Pu Yuan was called Yi Jue at that time and was called the Divine Sword.
The current earrings still retain their style. ——Of course, we don’t even know what the earrings are now!
This Pu Yuan can also be called a "big country craftsman" of the Shu Han Dynasty. No wonder General Jiang Wei personally wrote a biography for him!
