In 1958, in economic construction activities, my country launched a mass movement with the main characteristics of achieving high indicators of industrial and agricultural production. This is the "Great Leap Forward" movement in history. Objectively speaking, the "Great Leap Forward" movement seriously damaged the fragile economic structure at that time, and for this reason, in 1959, the three-year difficult period began.
It was also in 1959. In order to correct the mistakes since the "Great Leap Forward" movement, our party held a Lushan Conference in Lushan. The original intention of the Lushan Conference is to correct the "left" and restore economic and agricultural production. However, at the Lushan Conference, General Peng submitted a "Ten Thousand Words Letter", pointing out the mistakes since the "Great Leap Forward" movement with righteousness. After that, the direction of the meeting changed, from "left" to "right" to "right", and General Peng continued to be criticized.
Speaking of General Peng being criticized, it is inseparable from Kang Sheng's "faning the flames". During the Agrarian Revolution, Kang Sheng had already engaged in political protection work in the central government's " Special Science and Technology " and was one of the earliest people in our party to engage in political protection work. However, after the rebellion of Gu Shunzhang , the work of the central "special science" was almost impossible to carry out, and Kang Sheng also went to the Soviet Union soon to study revolutionary theory there.
During the Soviet Union, Kang Sheng gradually got together with Wang Ming, and faithfully implemented Wang Ming's "left-leaning" line errors. He persecuted many international students in the Soviet Union and labeled them as so-called "Trotskyists" elements, causing their physical and mental persecution. Kang Sheng also showed unusual "punishment" ability during this period, which was deeply trusted by Wang Ming.
1937, after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Kang Sheng, Wang Ming and others returned from the Soviet Union through Xinjiang. It is worth mentioning that after arriving in Xinjiang, Kang Sheng continued to cooperate with Wang Ming to persecute grassroots revolutionary cadres. During that period, many cadres in the remnants of the Western Route Army of remained in Xinjiang were persecuted by Kang Sheng and Wang Ming, such as Lite who was persecuted to death.
After returning to Yan'an , Kang Sheng served as the Minister of the Ministry of Social Affairs and continued to work in intelligence and political protection. During the Yan'an period, Kang Sheng took his "punishment" skills to the extreme. For example, he launched the so-called "rescue of the fallen" campaign, which implicated a large number of innocent people and caused many unjust, false and wrong cases.
After the founding of New China, Kang Sheng served as Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee. However, he was not satisfied with his position, so he always claimed to be ill and did not return to work. It was not until after the "Eighth National Congress" that Kang Sheng felt that the time for his comeback was up, so he came out again to ask for work. During that period, Kang Sheng said: "I don't understand economic construction, but only understand class struggle. Once I engage in class struggle, my illness will be cured."
The third year after the "Eighth Congress" was held, that is, in 1959, the Lushan Conference was held. General Peng spoke out for justice at the Lushan Conference and put forward his views on the "Great Leap Forward" movement. However, General Peng was also criticized for this. It is worth mentioning that during the Lushan Conference criticized General Peng, Kang Sheng's speech was very sharp.
President Peng’s original name is Peng Dehua and his name is Shi Chuan. Kang Sheng grabbed this name and name and made a fuss, saying that "dehua" means "dehua", and that General Peng is very ambitious, so he also gave the title "Shi Chuan" (Chairman Mao's nickname is Shi Sanyizi). During the meeting, Kang Sheng vigorously criticized General Peng, saying that he was engaged in a conspiracy. His remarks also caused great physical and mental persecution by President Peng, and all his posts were removed.
Back to Kang Sheng, Kang Sheng was also valued for actively participating in the movement during that period, and was elected as a member of the Standing Committee at the 11th Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1966 and became a national-level cadre. However, after the end of the special period of the ten-year period, the relevant departments began to investigate the unjust, false and wrong cases during that period, and found out that Kang Sheng had persecuted a series of cadres, including General Peng. However, Kang Sheng had died of illness at that time, so he did not prosecute him. However, Kang Sheng was later punished accordingly. Not only was he expelled from the party, but his ashes were also removed from Babaoshan.
