In the thirty-eighth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1559), a boy was born in the Tucker family of Zuowei in Jianzhou.
He is Nurhaci .
Nurhaci is Jurchen . This nation has a long history. Their most glorious moment was undoubtedly 1127. That year, Aguda, the leader of the Wanyan tribe of the Jurchen tribe, established the Jin Dynasty. Within a few years, he completed the achievement of destroying the Liao Dynasty and surrendering to the Song Dynasty, and became the overlord of northern China.
After the founding of the Jin Dynasty, some Jurchens "entered the pass from the dragon", and gradually, these people became Han people. There are also some people who choose to stay in the Northeast. Nurhaci’s ancestors are these people who did not leave.
Nurhachi's ancestors originally lived in the Yilan area of the lower reaches of the Songhua River . During the reign of in the Yuan Dynasty, three Wanhufu were set up here. Nurhachi's ancestors served as Wanhu of Wanhu Mansion in Oduoli. At the turn of the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, civil strife broke out among the Jurchen tribe. In order to avoid the disaster, Nurhaci's sixth ancestor, Meng brother Timur, came to the Ormu River downstream of the Tumen River.
Meng brother Timur became famous in the third year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1403). This year, he was appointed by Ming Chengzu as the commander of the Jianzhou Guard. Seven years later, Timur, the fierce brother, entered the court again. Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty appreciated his loyalty and bravery, so he specially added the Jianzhou Left Guard and appointed him as the commander of the Jianzhou Left Guard. Because Timur, the fierce brother, loyally guarded the border and made outstanding achievements for the Ming Dynasty , he later served as the governor Qian Shi and the right governor.
From this time on, Meng brother Timur and his descendants became the masters of Jianzhou Jurchen . Takshi is the fifth generation grandson of Timur, the fierce brother. He married three wives successively. Nurhachi's mother's surname was Hitala, and her name was Emuqi. She was the daughter of Wang Gao, the leader of the Jianzhou Guard. The Hitara clan gave birth to a total of three sons and one daughter to Takshi.
As the eldest son, Nurhachi was loved by his parents and lived a happy life since childhood. However, when he was 10 years old, his mother died suddenly. This incident fundamentally changed Nurhachi's life. His stepmother Nala's is a mean and vicious woman. Since she took charge of the family, the Nurhaci brothers have lost the warmth of their old family and suffered from her critical and cold treatment. Affected by his wife's instigation and influence, Nurhaci's father also became as cold as ice to the Nurhaci brothers.
Due to the pressure of life, Nurhachi began to make a living with his own hands when he was a boy. He often traveled over mountains and ridges, and went in and out of vast forests. Digging ginseng, picking pine nuts , picking hazelnuts , and picking mushrooms, and then taking these mountain products to the market to exchange for money to support their own lives.
Nurhaci
The place where Nurhaci often goes is the horse market in Fushun. Here, he learned to speak Chinese and read Chinese characters. "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "Water Margin" were also read during this time period. It is said that whenever he reads something wonderful, he can't help but applaud and praise, and his yearning for the heroic achievements is beyond words.
When Nurhachi was 15 years old, he took his younger brother Shuerhaqi to join his grandfather Wang Gao. Wang Gao was a Jurchen who was deeply Chinese. After the mid-Ming Dynasty, he thought he was powerful, so he ignored the imperial decree and caused chaos. In the third year of Wanli (1574), Li Chengliang, the commander-in-chief of Liaodong in Ming Dynasty, led his army to break through Wang Gao Tun Village. Wang Gao and his relatives were all executed. At this time, Nurhaci decided to "retreat to advance". He knelt down in front of Li Chengliang's horse without hesitation, cried bitterly, and begged him to die in Chinese. Li Chengliang saw that he was smart, clever and pitiful, so he not only pardoned him but also kept him under his tent as a book boy to serve him.
At this time, Nurhachi was already very skilled in bow and horse, and his martial arts were very strong. When he was serving under Li Chengliang, he always fought bravely during battles and made many military exploits. Li Chengliang appreciated him very much and made him his attendant and bodyguard. The two are inseparable, have a close relationship, and share the same affection as father and son.
However, Nurhachi's deferment and loyalty to Li Chengliang were limited to the surface. He always held a grudge against his grandfather's murder. But at that time, he was intimidated by Li Chengliang's reputation and did not dare to act rashly. Privately, he already has other plans, and will only take action when the time comes one day.
Li Chengliang
After living under Li Chengliang's tent for about three years, Nurhaci took the opportunity to leave Li Chengliang and return to his long-awaited hometown on the grounds that his father had sent him a message asking him to go home to get married. His wife is Tong Jia. Not long after the marriage, Nurhaci was kicked out of the house by his stepmother Nala on the grounds that the Jurchen man wanted to start a new family after getting married.
Nurhachi was not angry this time. After he and his wife left home, they often went to the Changbai Mountain area to gather and hunt, and traveled between Fushun Ma City and the Jurchen area to exchange for production and daily necessities. Occasionally, he also obeyed the imperial court's call to join the war.
What Nurhaci did not expect was that the seemingly ordinary days were actually turbulent. The war that would change his personal destiny and that of China was about to happen.
