On the boundary of Xiaomenjia Town, Penglai District, Yantai City, there is a big mountain called "Jushan". It is 441 meters above sea level, has a very wide radius, and is surrounded by many villages.

Among them, there is a village named "Gaojiagou" (called half of the dialect in provincial dialect) on the south side of the east side of the main peak. This village is located very deep. Go west from the station in Xiaomenjia Town, walk along Provincial Highway 304 to the vicinity of Xialu Village, turn to a small road to the north, and walk six or seven miles in the mountains before you reach Gaojiagou Village. .
Judging from the name, Gaojiagou seems to be related to people with the surname Gao. But the village now has Jiang as its common surname, and there are no people with the surname Gao. What is its specific origin? It is unknown at the moment.

There are often historical sites deep in the mountains. According to the introduction of the villagers in Gaojiagou, there used to be a "Guzi's Nunnery" in the local area in the old days. It should have a long history, but unfortunately it has disappeared now.
In addition to the former "Guzi'an", there are other ancient relics in Gaojiagou Village, which is the big locust tree (Guo Sophora japonica). In the past, there were three large locust trees in the village. However, due to the age of the trees, one of them no longer exists, while the other two remain until now.
In fact, the two preserved trees have also shown signs of decline. Most of the trunk of the tree to the west has dried up, leaving only a small part lying on another small tree, showing an "arch" shape; the tree to the east has grown relatively vigorously, and its trunk is still intact. , but some branches have withered.
In what era were these locust trees planted? How old is the tree? The elderly people in the village couldn't tell, so they could only make a general inference that it was "hundreds of years". If you guess, it might have been planted by the ancestors who first came to settle in the mountains.
It is not easy for a village to retain a large locust tree; but it is even more rare for Gaojiagou Village to have two trees at the same time. They grow deep in the mountains and have gone through many vicissitudes of life. They can be called witnesses of the changes of the village over the past hundreds of years.
